[Hidden Clearing]<br />
A wild garden grows here with hawthorn and blackberry bushes that are plaited together by twisting vines of rambler roses.  Pale pink rose petals are strewn across the well-tended grass.  A stone urn filled with flowers sits on a pedestal in front of a wooden garden pavilion.  You also see a pink-checked cotton cloth, a fluffy snow-white kitten wearing a sapphire uzil odaj and a marblesilk collar, a coppery saluki puppy flaunting a goldenglow glaes collar and jadeleaf snood, a pile of blue irises and a pool filled with swirling water at the base of the waterfall.<br />

Saragos quietly says, "Immortals...  whoever is listening.  I'm trying to do my best.  I've felt the sting of loss, and I struggle with both rage and self-loathing that my efforts to bring my loved ones back helped to provoke some of these encasements.  Please welcome the lost into your bosom, and protect those that may still be saved."

Nawain fixes Sofina with a solid, steady stare.

Gragnel says, "I know, again, we are witness to something incredible. Lets all breathe for a moment."

Nevali pushes her glasses up the bridge of her nose.

Klausette quietly says to Nawain, "I told you She was with you."

A bright aura of holy energy emanates from Nawain, shining with a powerful inner fortitude.<br />
Nawain has a high-cheekboned kite-shaped face with an inexorable streak of splaying black veins spreading along the neck, delicate ears accented by some Ilithic applewood-carved gatekeeper butterflies dangling upon leather cords, star-flecked abyssal black eyes and a freckled nose.  Her black-streaked ginger hair is hip length and frizzy, and is worn unkempt.  She has pale skin and a tightly laced thornweave corset ensnaring the waist of a coltish figure.<br />
She is tiny for a Rakash.<br />
A luminous lavender butterfly graced by prismatic lilac moonsilver wings floats lazily around her head, glowing with a lustrous sheen against her skin.<br />
She appears to be in her prime.<br />
Her nose is pierced with a slender hoop connected to a vine-like chain that trails across her right cheek, draped with delicate thealstone wisteria that rest against her face.  The vine terminates in an earring that resembles a wisteria bloom.<br />
Her right palm has a tattoo of a stylized butterfly sketched in thick inky black lines.<br />
A luminous orb formed by a starry murder of crows hovers like a will-o-wisp, following her diligently.<br />
She is in good shape.<br />

Melindrha says, "Right, stay away from Stone Clan, so the next temper tantrum doesn't squish people."

Nawain winces.

Nawain says to Melindrha, "Or Arthe Dale."

Casari says to you, "I will be there."

Melindrha makes an odd noise like she just inhaled a tart.

Allye frowns.

Melindrha nods to Nawain.

Sofina says to you, "I know its hard concept to understand, but sorcery will save us all."

Casari asks, "The world worked for... so long, with both the Heralds and the Immortals doing whatever their jobs are.  So which one isn't doing their job?  What happens if one side is no longer able to do their job?"

Rejind says, "Pure casting is still far and away the most common type, and likely always will be."

(Elurora stands in a loose attention pose, quiet but obviously listening.)

Sukidesu says, "To play demon's advocate or whatever, we all already use pure mana a lot, so..."

Sukidesu shrugs.

Rejind says, "A group of casters getting together and casting...is just normal."

Nawain ponders.

You say to Sofina, "It's not hard to understand, it's just hard to believe. But I'm willing to believe my eyes if they tell me."

Sukidesu nods at Rejind, obviously agreeing with his views.

Imroth nods to Casari.

Dasheek says, "Until the gods declare enemies..."

Briaen says to Sukidesu, "Most of us, do.  I wouldn't say -all-."

Avrenka exclaims to you, "Connect the dots my friend. They sent those spires after yelling "A voice roars "For eons we have maintained these lands, our perfect balance! Your filth and audacity knows no limit!"

Trajan says to you, "You're speaking of feeding streams of pure mana to an unknown enemy, which we've been told is its food source, simply so you can make up your mind about picking a side."

Avrenka says, "It's certainly an interesting experiment."

Imroth says, "Maybe we should be the ones making demands."

Aseanaecona bends forward and kisses a deep blue prayer cloth embroidered with a massive tidal wave.

Aseanaecona looks up and sighs, smiling.

Elurora raises an eyebrow in Sofina's direction.

Aseanaecona pours some of her red wine onto the prayer cloth.  Oddly, the liquid seems to turn into a pale mist as it touches the cloth.  Aseanaecona takes a deep, long breath, and sighs.

Dasheek says, "Whose favor you enjoy."

Kerennya clucks her tongue and shakes her head.

You ask Dasheek, "You planning to swear off Elemental magic, then?"

Trajan says to Avrenka, "One might say the same thing about sorcery, but it seems to be harming them."

Elurora looks at Briaen, obviously trying not to grin.

Dasheek says to Briaen, "I don't know you."

Sofina asks Briaen, "Oh dear Briaen, and who are the enemies then?"

Nawain hugs a soft jewel-tone velvet butterfly.  You swear you hear it let out a series of faint clicks.

Trajan gives his pinscher puppy a scratch behind the ear and places it carefully on the ground.  It gazes about while wagging its tail.

More clouds move in above, almost obscuring the sky completely.

Kerennya says to you, "Then just say our big bad evil guy then...BBEG for short."

Trajan says, "We have four spired villages, one entity from the plane of probability, a location not necessarily known for its magnanimous inhabitants, floating around establishing devices outside of our gates, and still 5 missing compatriots."

Trajan says, "In case anyone wanted the score."

Elurora softly says to you, "The First Gardener, who was jailed."

Sukidesu nods to Elurora.

You nod to Elurora.

Avrenka says, "Or the Jailor, the orange dragon."

Briaen says, "My research into wild magic has suggested a divine struggle of some variant.  I retain my stance on Asildu deserving an end.  And I intend to deliver it to him, as soon as we conspire to strip him of whatever meteor source causes the spires."

Elurora shakes her head at Briaen.

Severei says, "Oh, I want to stab Asildu regardless of who the enemy is."

Casari says to Briaen, "I'm pretty certain he's a victim."

Avrenka chuckles.

Illiya says, "Unaka has asked us not to attack Asildu."

Elurora nods to Illiya.

Aerilia says to Trajan, "But we have a directive now.  The gods have told us how to weaken Their enemy.  So long as we focus on that, I feel we'll make it through this."

Briaen says, "Victims have graves too."

Avrenka says, "Attacking Asildu is counterproductive."

Casari says, "So do unhinged maniacs who want to go around killing everyone to feel better."

Imroth says, "Nah it would feel good."

Avrenka raises his palms skyward, chanting.

Elurora says, "And may cause more harm to the innocent."

Imroth says, "That's worth something."

Severei nods at Imroth, obviously agreeing with his views.

Trajan nods to Aerilia.

Severei says, "I'll behave though. For now."

(Nawain's eyes drift closed and she sags a bit against Sukidesu's shoulder.)

Elurora says, "It is not WE who pay when they are angry, it is innocent families and towns."

Avrenka gestures.

An instant rush of black and blue fire explodes into being, consuming Avrenka's right hand and turning it into ash!

Melindrha's features are limned in fiery rutilant light, her eyes burning with a fearsome vivacity.

You say, "I follow Hodierna, and I don't know what She would ask of me. If I knew, this would be a very easy decision."

Rejind says, "The Immortals have not instructed us to -stop- normal casting, merely increase sorcerous casting."

Rejind says, "I doubt it. Ceasing normal casting wouldn't change the status quo much as I understand it, the mana would still be there."

Avrenka says, "Yes, but energy is generated thru resistance and movement of the mana."

Briaen gazes at Nawain.

Aerilia says, "If getting adventurers to stop sorcery is a lost cause, getting them to stop magic altogether is even more hopeless a task."

Then we have the most powerful beings on the plane doing stupid stuff to get more.  It could also explain why the Immortals would be against them.  I could be wrong, though."

Sukidesu brushes the surface of his bone amulet and begins to reel!  He clutches his head in pain!

You hear a female Elf voice say, "Do keep an eye on the neck though Nawain, it doesnt look healthy at all."

Nawain growls low in the back of her throat.

Elurora folds her arms across her chest.

Nawain wearily says, "I will deal with you later, Sofina."

Avrenka says, "Or perhaps the Heralds are so obsessed with their Garden, that they are willing to spend whatever increasing energy upkeep to have it."

Nawain mutters something into the air about small steps.

Sukidesu nods to Nawain.

Trajan says to Avrenka, "Valenal was sufficiently clear about that, as well."

Laureh gazes at Nawain.

Avrenka says to Trajan, "Liraxes also mentioned it."

Avrenka shrugs.

Trajan frowns.

Trajan says, "Liraxes."

You ask Nawain, "All right, who's getting you home?"

Nawain rubs her head.

Sukidesu pats Nawain on the back.

Elurora looks with concern at Nawain.

Kerennya says to Avrenka, "Which vision says the *garden* needs more mana?  I don't remeber anything giving me *that* impression."

Briaen gazes up at the sky.

Briaen slowly empties his lungs.

Elurora touches Briaen with a confident grace and familiar smile.

Nawain glances at Sukidesu.

Aerilia bobs a brief, respectful bow.

Sukidesu dimples at Nawain.

Mageling Aerilia wandered into a pool filled with swirling water at the base of the waterfall.

Kerennya says, "And I've been looking quite a bit at the visions lately."

Avrenka says to Kerennya, "The gardener in the third vision required more and more energy."

Sukidesu stretches out a hand imploringly to Nawain.

Nawain nods.

Nawain says to you, "Suki can get me home."

Nawain says, "He's tall enough I can't possibly tip him over."

Nawain gazes at Sukidesu.

Sukidesu grins at Nawain, his dimples flashing into view.

Elurora chuckles.

You ask, "You sure you don't want some extra company just in case?"

Elurora says, "Maybe I should walk with you, just in case."

Rejind raises his hand in a quick salute.

(Nawain glances around, sniffing a bit as if searching for a scent.)

Nawain ponders.

Sukidesu reaches over and holds hands with Nawain.

With a friendly smile, Sukidesu holds Elurora's hand.

You nod in agreement.

You join Sukidesu's group.

Avrenka says, "Be safe."

Elurora bows to Avrenka.

Elurora grins at Avrenka.

Sukidesu waves to Avrenka.

Avrenka nods to Elurora.

Avrenka nods to Sukidesu.

Nawain says, "Thank you all for coming."

Trajan nods to Nawain.
