[World Dragon Temple] (1042101)

Columns of purple quartz support the rough-hewn obsidian walls of the Temple. Embroidered gold carpeting marks a clear path beneath them, receding deeper into the structure. You also see a sleek golden panther with enigmatic violet eyes, a blue Moongate, a tall vela'tohr plant with nectar-soaked leaves and the Temple Gates.

Also here: Gypsy Amabalis, Bard of Stars Eionelthaniel, Maelstrom Kiashandra, Lava Bringer Cherisse, Roughneck Rileos, Ruea, Dreamweaver Itheron, Lord Knight Hebion,
Stargazer Jahrissk, Desert Blossom Zersha and Dragon Priest Eskerith.

Obvious exits: south.

J>l esk

You see Dragon Priest Eskerith Krathkal, Pejek'zhra of Muspar'i, a S'Kra Mur Empath.

Eskerith has a sharp-featured face with a graduated crest of backward-curving spurs which follows the shape of his skull, silver-flecked slitted jade eyes and a long,
primitive-looking snout, white scales dusted with sand-hued speckles, a straight tail and a thin build.

He is tiny for a S'Kra Mur.

He appears to be young.

He is in good shape.

He is wearing a flowing lava samite uaro's'sugi in dyed a sandy gold hue, a dark-scaled desert shroud clasped by a heavy iron yeehar cloak pin, a dark steel chain crafted from interlocking links of discolored metal, a dragon-embroidered cassock of copper Velakan linen overlain with pale khiynit, a simple niello ring, a faded black prayer sash embroidered with a fierce dragon, a shrunken yeehar skull with twin howlite spheres set into the eye sockets, some sand-hued Velakan linen pants, a pair of brown yeehar-hide sandals with rawhide straps and a dark steel tailband embossed with a black-on-black niello dragon.

Zersha says to Kiashandra in a Velakan accent, "I think if you set the temple on fire, Eskerith might be sad."

Kiashandra says to Zersha, "In that case, I shall not."

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "Would be quite hard to set obsidian on fire. It's kinda already been fired once."

Zersha says to Eskerith in a Velakan accent, "Don't give her a challenge..."

Eskerith articulately says to Zersha in a Musparan accent, "Fair."

Eskerith loudly says in a Musparan accent, "Greetings, all. If you do not know me yet, I am Eskerith Krathkal. I am a Dragon Priest and a citizen of this beautiful city of Muspar'i."

Eskerith bobs a brief, respectful bow.

Eskerith matter-of-factly says in a Musparan accent, "I am a member of the Empath's Guild and proudly serve the people of Elanthia who require my services as a healer."

Eskerith matter-of-factly says in a Musparan accent, "If you were here for either of the prior two gatherings, then you would know that my whole life has been spent worshipping at this very temple we now reside in. It was built as a refuge for those who practice the true path of the Dragon Priest, like myself."

(Eskerith makes large, dramatic sweeps of both arms as if to draw attention to the grandeur of the temple.)

Lasciel asks, "Is the Dragon in the temple?"

Yraggahh chortles softly at some secret joke.

Eionelthaniel says to Lasciel in a rustic accent, "She's sleeping."

Stelling says to Lasciel, "Peri'el isn't here, so the Dragon isn't here."

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "Here, we who seek peaceful days and the continued slumber of the mighty World Dragon have been graciously given a space to observe the rites and rituals that have been passed down to us through generations of our kin."

Eskerith's tail undulates passively just above the ground.

Eskerith honestly says in a Musparan accent, "The worship and praise performed here are in line with what we know of the teachings of Sh'kial himself and are not to be confused with the manner in which those of the south choose to worship."

Eskerith loudly says in a Musparan accent, "However, I confess, our rites and rituals have been developed over time."

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "Though we strive to follow the example set by Sh'kial, there has been much of our history that has been lost to time and to the actions of the Empire through their many purges."

Eskerith resolutely says in a Musparan accent, "While we do mourn the loss of the relics and artwork that were stolen recently, we stand firm on the path of peace and seek no revenge for such actions. It is not our way."

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "I know many of you have your own grievances to air with the Empire, and I will not stand in your way of doing so. We do not seek to force our lifestyle onto anyone."

Eskerith firmly says in a Musparan accent, "That also is not our way."

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "Moving on..."

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "Scholars have likened much of Sh'kail's path to that of Peri'el worshipers. Something which I find myself agreeing with. The goal is the same: The continued slumber of the mighty World Dragon."

Eskerith proudly says in a Musparan accent, "Today, I have the great honor of giving a guided tour of the temple grounds to you who are in attendance."

Eskerith cautiously says in a Musparan accent, "Many of my fellow Dragon Priests do not feel it is worth the risk of bodily harm to put themselves on display, as I am right now. Though, as it was last time, I do so despite whatever dangers may come."

Eskerith shrugs.

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "Plus, Hebion's shield is impressive."

Eskerith chuckles.

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "During our stroll through the temple, I will point out notable features as well as give a bit of information about some of them."

Eskerith honestly says in a Musparan accent, "Not everything was taken by the Empire in their pillaging of our holy grounds, and I have a desire that you may know what remains."

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "If you have any questions during this, please save them for after we conclude the tour, and I will gladly answer what I can."

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "Please JOIN me now if you have not already done so. I will give you a moment to do so before I begin the tour."

Lasciel asks, "What if it's a really important question?"

Zersha softly says to Hebion in a Velakan accent, "I like how he thinks I'll remember a question until the end."

Eskerith articulately asks Lasciel in a Musparan accent, "If it's important enough to get an answer than it's important enough to ask at the right time, yes?"

Eskerith smiles.

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "We shall start right here, in the entryway."

Eskerith loudly says in a Musparan accent, "There are a few things of note in this room, so allow me a moment of your time as I bring them to your attention."

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "First, you may notice the columns. They are of a lovely purple quartz which has a slight glow, offering us a little light in this area."

Eskerith taps a column of purple quartz.

Eskerith matter-of-factly says in a Musparan accent, "The source of that glow comes from several torches that are mounted to the columns, their light being refracted through the quartz."

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "Lastly, I would like to draw your attention to the lovely golden carpeting. Our journey through the temple will be made easier and more comfortable due to it being here."

J>l carpet

Delicate embroidery edges the thick damask material, intertwining together in an elaborate scrollwork pattern.

Lasciel just touched some embroidered gold carpeting.

Lasciel falls over.

Lasciel rolls around on the ground. Typical.

Eskerith appreciatively says in a Musparan accent, "It is made from a lovely damask that bears an elaborate scrollwork pattern. Quite pleasing to the eye, in my humble opinion."

Eskerith taps some embroidered gold carpeting.

Eskerith articulately exclaims in a Musparan accent, "Now, deeper we go!"

You follow Eskerith south.

[World Dragon Temple] (1042102)

Darkness clings to the fringes of this narrow corridor. Barely discernible within the shadows are two passages, their outlines made visible by the glowing coals of a brushed silver brazier.

Eskerith loudly says in a Musparan accent, "Now, here, there are two important things of note."

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "First is the brazier."

Eskerith points at a brushed silver brazier.

J>l braz

Tiny etchings circle the outside of the bowl, partially hidden beneath the thin layer of soot caked onto the surface.

Lasciel just tried to kick the brazier!

Eskerith glances at Lasciel.

Lasciel says, "Sorry."

Eskerith honestly says in a Musparan accent, "Many of our rituals and offerings are given to fire as a symbol of the World Dragon consuming them. While I prefer to burn things on the altar, the brazier here is for more casual use."

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "Some of our number choose to make offerings here before going deeper into the temple for more worship, seeing it as a means of cleansing and readying the body for the rituals they will be undertaking."

Eskerith smiles.

Eskerith loudly says in a Musparan accent, "Also in this area, you may notice the beautiful mural."

Eskerith points at a wall mural.

Eskerith matter-of-factly says in a Musparan accent, "This depicts our honored originator of the faith, First Priest Sh'kial, as he stands upon the Wyvern Mountains and preaches the word to worshippers."

Eskerith folds his arms and lifts his head, a proud gleam in his eye and his tail resting firmly against the ground.

Eskerith truthfully says in a Musparan accent, "This is one of my favorite decorations in the temple, because it gives honor to the beginnings of our religion."

J>l mural

In the distance a mountain looms, casting its shadow over the land. Thousands of worshippers have gathered at its base, their eyes cast upwards -- focused upon the lone figure standing atop the pinnacle.

Eskerith beams!

Eskerith articulately asks in a Musparan accent, "Let's press on, shall we?"

You follow Eskerith southeast.

[World Dragon Temple] (1042104)

Crystalline bowls filled with burning incense send plumes of smoke aloft. Plush pillows lie strewn about the floor, forgotten by pilgrims as they left to enter the main chamber.

Eskerith knowingly says in a Musparan accent, "Now this is one of the more informal rooms of the temple. It is a quiet place for sitting and conversing or contemplating."

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "You may notice the heavy smell of incense. We keep some burning in the bowls there atop the table."

Eskerith taps a low table.

Eskerith taps a crystalline bowl filled with burning incense atop a low table.

Eskerith happily says in a Musparan accent, "And, for comfort, there are several floor pillows which have been placed around the table so that worshippers can sit while they use the space."

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "Most of them have been unknowingly supplied by other worshippers who left them behind, and now they are property of the temple for anyone to use."

Eskerith taps some plush pillows.

J>l pillow

All manner of shapes and sizes make up the collection, each appropriately stuffed to ensure the comfort of whomever seeks to sit or lie upon them.

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "Before we go deeper, we will journey back and take the other pathway so as not to miss anything."

Eskerith chuckles.

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "I forgot the curtains."

You follow Eskerith southwest.

[World Dragon Temple, Main Chamber] (1042106)

Polished obsidian walls supported by columns of purple quartz encircle the vast chamber. Rays of light from above bathe the massive altar in a profusion of refracted colors.

You follow Eskerith northwest.

[World Dragon Temple] (1042103)

Plush pillows lie strewn about the floor near a dragon statuette on a raised pedestal. Several candelabras shed scant illumination upon the area.

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "As another sitting area, this space is also supplied with some lovely pillows that may be used."

You notice as a sleek golden panther with enigmatic violet eyes slinks into the room.

Eskerith taps some plush pillows.

Eskerith appreciatively says in a Musparan accent, "And to help with the lighting, there are several purple quartz candelabras which match the columns we saw in the entry."

Eskerith taps a candelabra of purple quartz.

Eskerith matter-of-factly says in a Musparan accent, "You may notice that they are shaped into a circle, which is meant to represent the moon Grazhir."

Amabalis grins at Eionelthaniel, her dimples flashing into view.

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "Now, to point out the most obvious thing..."

Eskerith chuckles.

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "You may notice that there is a lovely statuette in this room, carved from black obsidian."

Eskerith taps an obsidian dragon statuette on a raised pedestal.

Eskerith honestly says in a Musparan accent, "It should come as no surprise that this is made to represent the terrifying World Dragon which we worship at this temple. You may have deduced that by the ominous and majestic pose it is positioned in."

Eskerith smiles.

J>l statue

Wings outstretched and maw gaping open, the obsidian statuette strikes an ominous pose, a warning to any who would defy its majesty.

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "Continuing..."

You follow Eskerith southeast.

[World Dragon Temple, Main Chamber] (1042106)

Polished obsidian walls supported by columns of purple quartz encircle the vast chamber. Rays of light from above bathe the massive altar in a profusion of refracted colors.

Eskerith loudly says in a Musparan accent, "And now we arrive at the main chamber of the temple."

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "If you were with me for my other gatherings, you would know this as the place where I conducted my rituals and made my offerings to the World Dragon."

Eskerith distractedly says in a Musparan accent, "Once again, there are more purple quartz columns that support the structure."

Eskerith taps a column of purple quartz.

Eskerith pointedly says in a Musparan accent, "And the walls are of polished obsidian, which are etched with symbols of our faith. Most will not know what they mean unless you are a fellow Dragon Priest."

Eskerith taps a polished obsidian wall.

J>l wall

Etched deeply into the obsidian surface are a multitude of indecipherable symbols.

Eskerith loudly says in a Musparan accent, "Now, for the dragon in the room..."

Eskerith chuckles.

The tip of Eskerith's tail makes lazy circles in the air.

Eskerith jokingly says in a Musparan accent, "Sorry, Dragon Priest joke."

Eskerith clears his throat.

Eskerith matter-of-factly says in a Musparan accent, "There is the altar, which has been carved to resemble the World Dragon itself."

Eskerith taps a massive obsidian altar carved to resemble the World Dragon.

Towering over the chamber, the massive obsidian altar has been carved into the likeness of the World Dragon. It sits with its great wings unfurled and head bent low, faceted ruby eyes gazing forward, carefully studying all those who stand before it.

Eskerith openly says in a Musparan accent, "It commands a bit of attention with the faceted ruby eyes, which I've always felt like were staring deep into my very soul."

Eskerith glances at a massive obsidian altar carved to resemble the World Dragon.

Eskerith fidgets nervously.

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "Also, as if one World Dragon were not enough, you may notice the dome over our heads."

(Eskerith lifts his eyes upwards as he points to the dome.)

Eskerith knowingly says in a Musparan accent, "The stained glass has been placed in a manner which depicts the World Dragon's birth from the pearlescent moon of Grazhir."

Eskerith smiles.

J>l dome

Tiny shards of multi-colored glass have been arranged in a meticulous pattern depicting the birth of the World Dragon as it hatched from within the pearlescent moon of Grazhir.

Eskerith loudly says in a Musparan accent, "And, finally, we have this lovely tapestry..."

Eskerith taps a large tapestry.

J>l tapest

Stitched upon the silken material is the ominous image of an enormous black dragon with its wings outstretched, perching atop a blue-green globe.

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "Which bears yet another depiction of the World Dragon. This time, perched atop a globe which represents Elanthia as we know it."

Eskerith jokingly asks in a Musparan accent, "Who would have expected so many dragons in a temple for the World Dragon, right?"

Eskerith smirks.

Lasciel examines a massive obsidian altar carved to resemble the World Dragon.

Eionelthaniel says to Lasciel in a rustic accent, "It's not to scale."

Stelling asks Eionelthaniel, "Who would expect scales on a dragon?"

You follow Eskerith east.

[World Dragon Temple] (1042107)

Tzgaa orbs set high into the smooth obsidian walls cast their soft glow throughout the corridor, connecting to the Eastern Tower.

Eskerith loudly says in a Musparan accent, "As this is an "in-between" place that simply connects one area to the next, there is little here of note."

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "We do, however, keep the area well-lit using tzgaa orbs."

Eskerith smiles as he indicates to the orbs with a slight nod of his head.

Eskerith knowingly says in a Musparan accent, "You may also notice that purple quartz has been used once again, this time to create sconces for the tzgaa."

Eskerith wisely says in a Musparan accent, "If you are unfamiliar with these, they are a S'Kra Mur invention that is made by using substances harvested from T'deri birds."

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "They possess inherent mystical properties that give illumination. Something very handy to have in some of these dark hallways."

Stelling says, "Poor birds."

Eskerith nods in agreement.

Eionelthaniel asks in a rustic accent, "Which .. part of the bird?"

Eionelthaniel raises an eyebrow in Eskerith's direction.

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "Moving on..."

Eskerith chuckles.

You follow Eskerith northeast.

[World Dragon Temple] (1042110)

Wooden benches nestle against the smooth obsidian walls, following the curve of this chamber. Spiraling up through the center of the room is a wrought iron staircase, its silhouette outlined by the glow of tzgaa orbs.

Eskerith matter-of-factly says in a Musparan accent, "This area is a classroom of sorts, where worshippers can learn from the elders of the temple about the faith."

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "There are some benches used by students while listening to instruction."

Eskerith taps some wooden benches.

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "And those students use the nearby reeds to draw in the sand."

Eskerith taps some bamboo reeds.

Eskerith honestly says in a Musparan accent, "It is in this manner that they show their instructor what they have learned in their class and through their studies."

Eskerith nods.

Eskerith guardedly says in a Musparan accent, "Some may find this to be a bit primitive, but it is our traditional way. I, myself, learned in this very spot. Sitting
on those very same benches."

Eskerith smiles.

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "Now, that staircase leads to the last space in the eastern tower."

Eskerith points at a spiraling staircase.

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "Let's go ahead and use it real quick so I can show you all where it leads."

Dragon Priest Eskerith's group climbed up a spiraling staircase.

[World Dragon Temple] (1042112)

Numerous crates and boxes fill this cluttered room, scattered here and there upon the floor. Several wardrobes lean against the obsidian walls like silent sentinels. You also see a spiraling staircase.

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "This room is a simple storage area for the students and instructors here at the temple."

Eskerith smartly says in a Musparan accent, "It should be obvious, with all the boxes and crates and wardrobes."

Eskerith taps some boxes.

Eskerith taps some crates.

Eskerith taps a tall wardrobe.

Eskerith chuckles.

Eskerith honestly says in a Musparan accent, "But in an effort to show you EVERYTHING in the temple, I did not want to neglect it."

Eskerith shrugs.

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "Now we will cross to the other side of the temple to continue our tour."

Dragon Priest Eskerith's group climbed down a spiraling staircase.

[World Dragon Temple] (1042110)

Wooden benches nestle against the smooth obsidian walls, following the curve of this chamber. Spiraling up through the center of the room is a wrought iron staircase, its silhouette outlined by the glow of tzgaa orbs. You also see a sleek golden panther with enigmatic violet eyes (sleeping).

You follow Eskerith southwest.

[World Dragon Temple] (1042107)

Tzgaa orbs set high into the smooth obsidian walls cast their soft glow throughout the corridor, connecting to the Eastern Tower.

You follow Eskerith west.

[World Dragon Temple, Main Chamber] (1042106)

Polished obsidian walls supported by columns of purple quartz encircle the vast chamber. Rays of light from above bathe the massive altar in a profusion of refracted colors.

You follow Eskerith west.

[World Dragon Temple] (1042108)

Tzgaa orbs set high into the smooth obsidian walls cast their soft glow throughout the corridor, connecting to the Western Tower.

Eskerith loudly says in a Musparan accent, "This is another "in-between" area, like the one in the other wing of the temple."

Eskerith distractedly says in a Musparan accent, "And, again, it is kept lit using more tzgaa orbs."

(Eskerith nods to the mounted orbs which are exact copies of the ones you saw previously.)

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "Nothing much else of note here, so let's keep walking."

You follow Eskerith northwest.

[World Dragon Temple] (1042109)

Rising up through the center of the chamber spirals a wrought iron staircase. Ironwood bookshelves stand against the smooth obsidian walls, like guards at their posts. Several tapestries hang in the gaps between them.

Eskerith matter-of-factly says in a Musparan accent, "Now this area is used as our library, hence the bookshelves you may see nearby."

Eskerith taps an ironwood book shelf.

Eskerith guardedly says in a Musparan accent, "But many of the books have been put away to prevent any further theft from the temple. So you won't find any here now."

A look of cold menace crosses Eskerith's features, and his hands fall to his sides, his tail lashing at the ground with a sharp, angry slap!

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "In addition to that, there are some tapestries which all show different scenes on each of the three here."

Eskerith nods.

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "On the first tapestry..."

Eskerith taps a faded tapestry.

J>l tape

A massive black dragon rages across a celestial sky, burning everything it passes with huge gouts of fire. Thirteen figures stand poised together, waiting to repulse the wyrm's advance upon the blue-green planet behind them.

Eskerith wisely says in a Musparan accent, "We have a depiction of the World Dragon as it faced the thirteen Immortals."

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "On the second tapestry..."

Eskerith taps a time-worn tapestry.

J>l tape

All manner of S'Kra Mur have gathered in a large circle around a robed figure standing alone in the center, his head lowered in prayer. A serene sense of calm seems to radiate outwards, the effect clearly apparent upon those nearest the robed figure.

Eskerith fondly says in a Musparan accent, "We have a depiction of the First Priest Sh'kial as he gathered the beginnings of his worshippers together."

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "And, finally, on the third tapestry...."

Eskerith taps a frayed tapestry.

J>l tape

Dressed for battle, thousands of S'Kra Mur warriors have gathered before a robed figure standing upon a large dais. Mixed expressions of anger and hatred are plainly visible upon their faces, and a dark, ominous shadow seems to hover over them all.

Eskerith angrily says in a Musparan accent, "We have a depiction of the fall of Sh'kial, as the warriors who would one day make up the Empire have gathered around
him."

Eskerith sorrowfully says in a Musparan accent, "It is a well-known fact that the Hag had him assassinated; this tapestry is thought to show the climate during that time, with many of the more militant followers of the World Dragon having turned against him."

Eskerith frowns.

Eskerith's tail undulates in an agitated fashion.

Eskerith distractedly says in a Musparan accent, "But, let's move on. I think we've dwelled enough on that."

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "Let's go ahead and take that staircase..."

Eskerith points at a wrought iron staircase.

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "That will lead us to the final room in the western tower, and it's a pretty important room for us to see."

Dragon Priest Eskerith's group climbed up a wrought iron staircase.

[World Dragon Temple] (1042111)

Wooden racks line the walls of this circular chamber, filled with scrolls. Upon the domed ceiling is a fresco, painted long ago by some unknown artist. You also see a wrought iron staircase and the silvery-white shard Tabelrem.

Eskerith loudly says in a Musparan accent, "Now here is where some of our eldest knowledge is contained. You may notice the racks..."

Eskerith points at some wooden racks.

Eskerith honestly says in a Musparan accent, "They contained a great number of scrolls from all over Elanthia, which we keep here. Though I have been told by the
elders that a number of them have gone missing since the High Priestess Suulnir allowed the Empire's warriors to raid the temple."

Eskerith frowns.

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "Anyways..."

Eskerith gazes off into the distance.

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "Above our heads..."

Eskerith points at a colorful fresco.

Eskerith guardedly says in a Musparan accent, "The fresco here depicts the expansion of the Dragon Priest Empire itself, showing its reach through all the known provinces."

Eskerith sighs.

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "This is thought to have been done by one of our scholars in an attempt to warn other members of the temple about places of danger. We have ever been persecuted by the Empire, and travel has been precarious at times..."

Eskerith frowns.

J>l fresc

Faded and flaking from the passage of time, the fresco depicts the accumulation and conquest of lands during the Dragon Priest Empire, encompassing all the provinces of Therengia, Zoluren, Ilithi, and the majority of Qi.

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "But, let's not forget the most important thing in this room..."

Eskerith points at the silvery-white shard Tabelrem.

J>l tabel

The shard known as Tabelrem is a coral-like array of thin, silvery-white veins of rock. If it was a solid mass, it would be about the size of a Gnome's fist. Tabelrem sits embedded in a concave depression at the top of a short, wrought-iron pedestal.

Eskerith matter-of-factly says in a Musparan accent, "We here at the temple are beyond blessed to have a shard of the former moon of Grazhir. It is something which we feel brings great honor to our place of worship."

Eskerith wisely says in a Musparan accent, "Like many of the other shards, this one has undergone the naming ritual by the Moon Mages for their Astral Travel. Its name is Tabelrem."

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "We shall now go back to the altar because there's a little something special there that I did not mention before."

Dragon Priest Eskerith's group climbed down a wrought iron staircase.

[World Dragon Temple] (1042109)

Rising up through the center of the chamber spirals a wrought iron staircase. Ironwood bookshelves stand against the smooth obsidian walls, like guards at their posts. Several tapestries hang in the gaps between them.

You follow Eskerith southeast.

[World Dragon Temple] (1042108)

Tzgaa orbs set high into the smooth obsidian walls cast their soft glow throughout the corridor, connecting to the Western Tower.

You follow Eskerith east.

[World Dragon Temple, Main Chamber] (1042106)

Polished obsidian walls supported by columns of purple quartz encircle the vast chamber. Rays of light from above bathe the massive altar in a profusion of refracted colors.

Eskerith wryly says in a Musparan accent, "You may not have noticed it when we first came through, but there is an opening that leads deeper. We will be going through it now."

Eskerith taps an opening behind a large tapestry.

Dragon Priest Eskerith's group went through an opening.

[World Dragon Temple, Limestone Cavern] (1042105)

Tiny droplets of water fall methodically from the apex of the cavern, plummeting downward through the huge cleft in the floor. Carved-out handholds descend into the darkness below. You also see an opening.

Eskerith loudly says in a Musparan accent, "Welcome to the limestone cavern. It's simply exactly that. A cavern that the Temple was built around."

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "But we didn't come here to see that. Let's keep going."

Dragon Priest Eskerith's group climbed down some carved-out handholds.

[Limestone Cavern, Hot Spring] (1042113)

Wispy tendrils of steam rise like ghostly towers, funneling through the huge cleft in the roof of the cavern. Small handholds carved out of the limestone ascend out of the sweltering heat. You also see some flat rocks.

Eskerith proudly says in a Musparan accent, "Here we have our very own hot spring."

Eskerith points at a hot spring.

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "Here, worshippers can meditate and relax, using the nearby rocks to lie down."

Eskerith taps some flat rocks.

Eskerith cautiously says in a Musparan accent, "You may also notice that there is a tunnel here leading deeper into the rock."

Eskerith points at a narrow tunnel.

Eskerith matter-of-factly says in a Musparan accent, "Entrance into this area is strictly forbidden to anyone who does not have the permission of the temple's High Priest."

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "As you may notice, some warriors stand guard here, and very few people have been allowed past them."

(Eskerith respectfully nods to the warriors, avoiding any eye contact which may seem as a challenge to the well-armed guards.)

Stelling asks, "And probably Bards get boild there too?"

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "We have now seen the final space within the temple that is allowed to visitors. I will guide us back."

Eskerith looks at Stelling and sighs.

Dragon Priest Eskerith's group climbed up some carved-out handholds.

[World Dragon Temple] (1042104)

Crystalline bowls filled with burning incense send plumes of smoke aloft. Plush pillows lie strewn about the floor, forgotten by pilgrims as they left to enter the main chamber.

You follow Eskerith northeast.

[World Dragon Temple] (1042102)

Darkness clings to the fringes of this narrow corridor. Barely discernible within the shadows are two passages, their outlines made visible by the glowing coals of a brushed silver brazier.

You follow Eskerith north.

[World Dragon Temple] (1042101)

Columns of purple quartz support the rough-hewn obsidian walls of the Temple. Embroidered gold carpeting marks a clear path beneath them, receding deeper into the structure. You also see a storm-grey cat with gold-flecked crystal blue eyes (sleeping), a tall vela'tohr plant with nectar-soaked leaves and the Temple Gates.

Eskerith loudly says in a Musparan accent, "And here we are, back where we started, just inside the temple gates."

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "But I'm going to take us outside real quick to look at one final thing..."

Dragon Priest Eskerith's group went through the Temple Gates.

[Muspar'i, Sh'kial's Square] (1040089)

Bright torches illuminate the gold statuary and proud engraving surrounding the great Temple Gates.

Eskerith matter-of-factly says in a Musparan accent, "Here outside, we have the two guardians of the temple."

Eskerith points at some golden dragons.

J>l dragons

Rearing high over the temple approach, the dragons regard passersby with gleaming ruby eyes. While their figures are separate, they seem to form one cohesive assymetrical statue, their heads tilted slightly inward such that both sets of eyes focus on a specific point in front of the gate.

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "They keep watch over all who enter here."

Eskerith nods.

Zersha waggles her fingers at some golden dragons.

Eskerith chuckles at Zersha.

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "Moving back inside now. It's time for me to wrap this all up for you."

Dragon Priest Eskerith's group went through the Temple Gates.

Eskerith appreciatively says in a Musparan accent, "I want to thank you all for joining me on this tour. I do hope it was informative and that you got to see some of the beauty that I have admired my whole life."

Eskerith smiles.

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "I know that some of the sights weren't the most pleasant, but it's important to remember our history."

Eskerith knowingly says in a Musparan accent, "You may have seen that there is much use of purple, gold, and black colors throughout the grounds. We consider these to be a beautiful combination, most of all when paired with the deep red from rubies, which are often used to create eyes for our representations of the World Dragon."

Eskerith smiles.

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "I will now gladly answer any questions that you may have about the temple or about the worship performed here."

Ahneya says to Eskerith in a Velakan accent, "I praise you remaining in one piece through the entire tour, wonderful change of pace."

Eskerith articulately says to Ahneya in a Musparan accent, "Yes. I would agree."

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "I had hoped since this was not a gathering for worship that I would not be plagued again by the Empire's warriors."

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "But, I see a few able bodied combatants here which would make short work of them."

You ask Eskerith, "Do you have any insights as to the current motivations of the Dragon Priest Empire?"

Eskerith articulately says to you in a Musparan accent, "I do not. What I know of the Empire I learned from Lady Ayrell's lecture and my few interactions with the High Priestess."

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "Her motivations seem to be focused on whatever this "acension" business is."

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "I could only guess at what that would mean."

Zersha asks Eskerith in a Velakan accent, "Where does the tunnel with the guards go?"

Eskerith articulately says to Zersha in a Musparan accent, "That is something that is not shared with non-worshippers. So, sadly, I cannot comment on it."

Zersha says in a Velakan accent, "Must be where they keep all the fun."

Eionelthaniel says to Zersha in a rustic accent, "Escape route."

Zoyah asks, "Eskerith, does your order following the original teachings of Sh'kial?"

Eskerith articulately says to Zoyah in a Musparan accent, "We follow what we know of the teachings, which much of it has been lost to time and through the purges of knowledge the Empire has done over the years."

Eskerith articulately says to Zoyah in a Musparan accent, "Admittedly, many of our rituals and practices have been developed over time and only peaceful worship is done in these walls."

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "One must understand that upon Sh'kials death, the Empire worked dilligently to supress and destroy much knowledge that they did not want known."

Zoyah says, "Dzree was a chaotic mess."

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "The Hag was a tyrant and a bane to many."

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "Any who still followed the teachings of Sh'kial came here with the First Queen of Muspar'."

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "That would be Queen Shorka."

Eskerith smiles.

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "Who, as I have said before, was also a worshipper of the World Dragon."

Rileos says to Eskerith, "I gotta go with the obvious question here. Why? The thing will kill us all given the chance, either through explicit desire or total apathy, and when you get beings this size, worship is empowering. Even the dark immortals don't want to destroy -everything-. The entire affair seems extremely ill advised."

Eskerith articulately says to Rileos in a Musparan accent, "The worship is done with the goal of empowering the continued rest."

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "That's why many relate the original teachings with those of Peri'el worshippers."

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "It has been said that Sh'kial's teachings and those of Peri'el are two sides to the same coin."

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "As the religion started among us S'Kra Mur, some have put forth the idea that it was done because the Sisters of Per'el don't allow males."

Eskerith smiles.

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "There was a time where followers of Peri'el would study at the Temples to the World Dragon to gain more knowledge."

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "This is told to us in S'zella's Tale."

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "S'zella being a Bard who once was a Dragon Priest himself."

Lasciel asks, "Do you ever get fed up with like the gweth and just wish the World Dragon would wake up sometimes?"

Eskerith articulately says to Lasciel in a Musparan accent, "I don't use gweths."

Lasciel says, "That would help."

Zoyah asks Eskerith, "Has there ever been any research or discovery of the origin of the Dragon? I know it came from Grazhir, but are there others?"
Eskerith articulately says to Zoyah in a Musparan accent, "Yes, there have been a number of researchers who have saught to better understand over the years. What their research has led to and if it was ever documented, I do not know."

You say to Eskerith, "Forgive my impertinence. How do your worship of the World Dragon is working, or is received? With Immortals we have tangible signs."

Eskerith articulately says to you in a Musparan accent, "The best answer I can give is faith."

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "The goal for follwoers of Sh'kial has always been the continued slumber of the World Dragon so that we may know peace in our lands."

You ask Eskerith, "So you've never received a vision, or seen otherworldly fire consume your offering, or any of such sort?"

Zoyah asks, "If the dragon still sleeps, the current approach is working, no?"

Eskerith articulately says to Zoyah in a Musparan accent, "Aptly put, yes."

You say, "I am just confirming there is no data points I am missing."

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "Sh'kial preached of a golden age of peace, one which I feel is a worthwhile goal to persue."

Stelling asks, "Peace defined how though?"

Eskerith articulately says to Stelling in a Musparan accent, "I would think in the most base definition. No conflict. No hardships. Just a better life for all."

Stelling says to Eskerith, "You undestand the hesitancy."

Stelling grins at Eskerith.

Eskerith articulately says to Stelling in a Musparan accent, "Completely."

Zoyah says to Eskerith, "This has been wonderful, to finally see this beautiful facility and all the almost tangible history within. Thank you, so much."

Eskerith beams at Zoyah!

Eskerith articulately says to Zoyah in a Musparan accent, "I am pleased to help in whatever way I can."

Lasciel asks, "Can we get some purple quartz to take home?"

Eskerith articulately says to Lasciel in a Musparan accent, "Not from here, no."

You ask, "Can one join the Dragon Priests if one is not a S'kra?"

You say, "Or is such worship strictly reserved for S'kra."

Eskerith articulately says to you in a Musparan accent, "Any and all are able to worship here."

You ask, "Are clerics able to align to the World Dragon?"

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "They are not, at least, not to my knowledge."

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "Clerics focus their efforts towards the Immortals primarly."

Cherisse says to Eskerith in a Kreshi accent, "The tour was informative. Thank you."

Eskerith beams at Cherisse!

Eskerith bows to Cherisse.

Lasciel asks, "Hypothetically if Eioneltanlol wanted to wake up the World Dragon, what would he need to do?"

Eskerith articulately says to Lasciel in a Musparan accent, "I do not think he could, nor would he want to."

Eskerith grins at Eionelthaniel.

You ask, "Pardon my questions. Final one ... I think I heard somewhere that it's thought the World Dragon supplies the fire of Elanthia deep within. Is that true?"

Eskerith articulately says to you in a Musparan accent, "The stories go, the Immortals were not strong enough to defeat the World Dragon after it already consumed much of the warmth in Elanthia. So they imprisoned it inside to replace that warmth."

You say, "A delicate balance, then."

You say, "If the World Dragon, or WD, becomes too weak, then Elanthia suffers."

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "It is said that Lord Ushnish uses that warmth with his lava and fire."

You say, "Perhaps the worship of the WD is necessary ... for if the Immortals became too strong, the WD may become too weak."

You say, "And vice versa."

Lasciel asks, "We're calling him WD now?"

Stelling says to Lasciel, "Only for the next forty or so."

You whisper to Stelling, "OOC: WD-40, I got it"

Stelling whispers, "OOC: at least someone did"

Stelling whispers, "OOC: but I thought I might be too drunk to have rolled that out well"

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "I've seen many works of art that show the World Dragon, yes."

Lasciel asks, "Who is the Hag you keep talking about?"

Lasciel asks, "Is it Jaelia?"

Eskerith articulately says to Lasciel in a Musparan accent, "Former Empress Dzree, the filth who caused much of the conflict through history."

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "It was the Hag who turned the Empire into what it became and also plagued the Bards though her years."

Stelling says to Eskerith, "Thnaks for the tour of this place I've always found to be quite interesting but quite creepy."

Eskerith articulately says to Stelling in a Musparan accent, "Of course, I am happy to help."

Eskerith articulately says to Stelling in a Musparan accent, "Whatever I can do to show that we here are not the same as the Empire, I'm glad to assist with."

Stelling says to Eskerith, "I'll keep that in mind. You know I haven't judged you the same as the others, so...yes, I'll keep that in mind."

Eskerith nods to Stelling.

Eskerith pats Stelling on the back.

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "I'm glad for the few Bards who have given me a chance since I started speaking more openly."

Eskerith smiles at Eionelthaniel.

You say, "The whole origin story of the World Dragon is quite curious."

You ask, "Why is there a dragon inside a moon?"

Eionelthaniel says in a rustic accent, "We don't even know if it's true."

Stelling says to you, "I blame the moon mages."

You ask, "And what kind of a being could almost overpower the 13?"

You ask, "And why does that moon have such a strong link to the Astral Plane?"

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "Yes, I will confess to not knowing a terrible amount about the magical ways of Moon Mages and exactly how the shards relate to that."

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "There have been some who say that the World Dragon was placed there by Huldah, though I do not know how that would have been done."

You say, "That hardly makes sense, considering Huldah would've had to have been stronger than it, in order to be its creator."

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "That's my same thought."

Eskerith nods to you.

You say, "Perhaps Huldah opened a conduit to a Plane thru which the World Dragon was able to slowly traverse thru."

You say, "The Immortals were known for opening conduits thru Planes."

You say, "Thus the Heralds doing what they did."

Zoyah says to Eskerith, "It is said that the dragon hatched on Grazhir, so I wonder ....who layed the egg."

Lasciel asks, "The moon was the egg?"

You say, "Apparently so."

You say, "And the moon grew bigger and bigger until it exploded."

You say, "The whole "naming" of the shards is curious as well."

Lasciel asks, "You think the WD named them?"

You say, "The Name of the shard and the shard's location are tied together."

You say, "I've heard it said that if a Shard is moved, then its name must change as well."

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "That is my understanding, yes."

Eskerith nods.

You say, "Such things that are "Named" are tied to the Astral Plane."

You say, "Entities of that Plane hate being Named as it forces it into an anchored existence."

You say, "I wonder if the World Dragon was the moon ... a growing incursion from the Astral Plane ... that the Immortals could not defeat, but was able to stymy thru some sort of Naming ritual."

You say, "Pure conjecture."

Lasciel says to you, " You have so many questions about this."

You say to Lasciel, "Just some crazy musings from a crazy person."

You say, "Pay me no heed."

Eskerith articulately says to Lasciel in a Musparan accent, "Have you met Avrenka? He is a walking bag of questions about everything."

Amabalis says, "Be happy im not asking questions."

Amabalis grins, revealing her dimples.

Eskerith articulately says to Amabalis in a Musparan accent, "I think with Lasciel here we have enough sillyness."

Eskerith articulately says to Amabalis in a Musparan accent, "Thank you for holding it in."

Zoyah says to Eskerith, "I must be off, but that you again."

Eskerith articulately says to Zoyah in a Musparan accent, "Happy to be of service."

Lasciel says to Zoyah, "Anything good in your store? Don't lie.."

Eskerith articulately says to Lasciel in a Musparan accent, "I think that was a, "Come shop and find out."

Eskerith chuckles.

Eionelthaniel asks in a rustic accent, "What's her store name?"

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "Applebottom something."

Eskerith ponders.

You say to Eskerith, "Thank you for the tour."

You say, "I hope we can find some answers in the time to come."

Eskerith bows to you.

Eskerith articulately exclaims in a Musparan accent, "Well, do remember, we have a play coming up very soon!"

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "It will be here in the city at the theater, I will be the narrator."

Eskerith nods.

Lasciel says, "My sister is in the play."

Eskerith articulately says to Lasciel in a Musparan accent, "I know."

Lasciel says, "Kiashandra is my sister."

Lasciel folds her arms across her chest.

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "I know all the Mummers."

Eionelthaniel says in a rustic accent, "Why do they call them Mummers.."

Lasciel says, "They wear disgusting old bandages and they live in a pyramid."

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "Mummers is a term used for entertainers."

You say, "It's hard to imagine any thing in this world could ever pose such a threat to the 13 ... the World Dragon must not be from this Plane."

Amabalis asks, "Remember the heralds did pose a threat at one time right?"

You say to Amabalis, "And they admitted they were not from this plane."

You say, "They in fact, were fleeing a Plane that they themselves destroyed."

Eskerith nods to you.

You say, "Many beings of Planes seem to like our plane."

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "Yes, the recent business between the Heralds and the Immortals definately shook up the understanding of things that many people had held to be true."

Lasciel says, "This temple needs some skylights."

Lasciel just tried to kick the column!

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "There is the dome above the altar."

Eskerith looks at Lasciel and shrugs.

Lasciel glides south.

You hear a female voice yell from the south, "WHere is the altar?"

Eskerith yells, "Look for the large dragon."

Lasciel says, "I tried to lie on the altar and it didn't work."

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "Because we're not that kind of Dragon Priests."

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "If you want to lie on an altar to the World Dragon, you might try the one in the Black Spire."

Lasciel asks, "Will the World Dragon come and ravish me?"

Lasciel bats her eyelashes.

Lasciel asks, "What you never have fantasies about the WD?"

Eskerith articulately says to Lasciel in a Musparan accent, "No, I don't think so. But maybe the High Priestess might."

You ask, "Isn't it curious how the Dragon Priests seem quite adept at using portals?"

You ask, "Portals that are not like moongates?"

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "I had actually wondered about that myself. There must be some sort of lost knowledge the mages of the Empire have."

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "And, sometimes they do use moongates, green ones."

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "Which I also found curious since I had only known of them to be the color of the moons."

You say, "Perhaps the color of Elanthia."

Eskerith articulately says to you in a Musparan accent, "Interesting."

You say, "If the World Dragon is tied to the Astral Plane like the Grazhir shards are."

You say, "And one is able to open moongates thru those shards."

You say, "Perhaps they are somehow channeling some ... inner Elanthia power ..."

Eskerith articulately says to you in a Musparan accent, "That is an interesting thought, definately worth more study."

You say, "Pure conjecture."

Eionelthaniel glances at Lasciel.

Eionelthaniel glances at you.

Eionelthaniel says in a rustic accent, "You two should not be allowed in the same room together."

Eskerith articulately exclaims to Eionelthaniel in a Musparan accent, "You said it!"

Eskerith chuckles.

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "I feel like a sports ball being tossed from one side of the feild to the other."

Lasciel says, "Kiashandra said that Amabalis didn't hate me."

Lasciel says, "And I thought maybe she loves me too much."

Eskerith articulately says in a Musparan accent, "I would trust your sister, I've known Kiashandra to be an honest person."

Eskerith nods to Lasciel.

[We wind down and everyone leaves, except Eskerith who stays at the Temple]
