[Inside the Machine]<br>
The room is vast and angular, its deep blue crystal walls scattering light into a spectrum of hues.  The smooth surfaces reflect and refract, casting intricate patterns across the floor.  Embedded in the walls are complex metallic patterns wrought in nickel, icesteel, niniam, and zinc, occasionally glowing with heat in rhythmic pulses.  Thin crystalline rods connect the mechanisms, shifting and changing smoothly.  The air hums with a subtle vibration, punctuated by the occasional metallic click.  Thin, translucent tubes filled with glowing blue liquid pulse gently, in sync with the mechanisms.  You also see an opening in the wall and a crystalline pedestal extending from the center of the room.

Liraxes tonelessly says, "Greetings."

Zynell says, "Hello."

Liraxes tonelessly says, "Observations of the activities happening in the skies have been taken into account for updates to probability calculations."

Zynell says, "Probably smart to do so."

Liraxes tonelessly says, "Liraxes does not have access to the specific plans being enacted by the Immortals, but probability calculations indicate that an opportunity will soon arise to extract the captives held 
by the Heralds, as part of an upcoming strike by the Immortals against them."

Zynell asks Poshly, "Have you seen this one yet?"

Zynell says, "So it is their turn to be the distractions."

Liraxes tonelessly says, "Based on observation of the area, Liraxes concludes that the captives are still technically in the vicinity of Arhat's Tower, depending on perspective. Liraxes suggests that those interested in rescuing them be ready to act in that vicinity when the Immortals next make a move."

Kerennya nods.

Firehawk Casari went through an opening in the wall.

Zynell says, "Alright."

Nawain nods.

Poshly raises an eyebrow.

Liraxes tonelessly says, "Original calculations indicated that they would not be extracted until the resolution of this situation, but more recent data indicates that the conflict between the Heralds and the Immortals will not be resolved during this action, however."

A pained expression crosses Nawain's face.

Zynell says to Poshly, "Means you get to kill more things."

Poshly beams at Zynell!

Poshly gives a flame-bladed zweihander with a blade of firestained agonite a hug!

Poshly exclaims, "I'm ready!"

The sun arrives at its zenith, a triumphant warrior proud and fierce in an empty sky.

Zynell says, "If now is not the resolution, what is probably necessary for a resolution."

Liraxes tonelessly says, "The probability of an outcome in which Balance can be maintained remains more likely than not at this juncture, even if it will take longer than originally anticipated."

Kerennya asks Liraxes, "Do your calculations indicate any sort of probability that the Heralds might come around to the idea of working cooperatively with mortals and Immortals to maintain balance?"

Nawain grins at Kerennya. 

Sayase came through an opening in the wall.

Nawain chuckles.

Nawain nods to Kerennya.

Liraxes tonelessly says to Kerennya, "That outcome is concluded to be unlikely. If the Heralds were willing to allow the necessary usage of sorcerous casting, they should not have allowed the situation to devolve so far in the first place."

Kerennya nods to Liraxes.

Stellar Statistician Urbaj came through an opening in the wall.

Nawain waves to Urbaj.

Zynell asks, "What is the probablity that only the abducted get released from the prision thing?"

Urbaj smiles.

Urbaj waves.

Liraxes tonelessly says, "Exactly what actions the Immortals will take to stop the Heralds are still unclear. And if they were available, it would be unwise for Liraxes to share them."

Kerennya nods at Liraxes, obviously agreeing with his views.

Haxen nods.

Zynell says, "If it is a prision, we know at least one other has been placed there over the eons."

Zynell shrugs.

Liraxes tonelessly says to Zynell, "Currently Liraxes does not anticipate anything else being released with the mortal prisoners, but data on additional entities that may or may not be present is scarce."

Liraxes tonelessly says, "However, overall probability indicators do not point to an additional imminent threat coming from that direction."

Roughneck Rileos came through an opening in the wall.

Nawain curiously asks Liraxes, "'When will your existence become unnecessary, and what will happen to you when it does?"

Haxen asks Liraxes, "Do we know when the immortals will be ready for this release of the prisoners attempt?"

Liraxes tonelessly says to Haxen, "Liraxes expects it to be in the near future, but will not provide more specific details. There is still some potential variance."

Haxen nods to Liraxes.

Kerennya slings a duffel bag beautifully embroidered with a dolphin pattern in aquamarine thread off from over her shoulder.

Kerennya puts her bag in an effervescent eddy of honey-hued light captured by a sungold frame.

Rileos scratches distractedly at his beard.

Zynell asks, "Do you have any data on Suulnir available?"

Nawain grins at Rileos.

Liraxes tonelessly says to Nawain, "Once the situation leading to the unstable wild magic scenario has subsided, Liraxes's presence will no longer be necessary."

Nawain nods to Liraxes.

Kerennya asks Liraxes, "Will you return to the Plane of Probability at that time?"

Zynell says, "Probably..."

Zynell playfully tilts her ears toward Kerennya.

Kerennya grins at Zynell.

Liraxes tonelessly says to Zynell, "Liraxes is aware of the mortal known as Suulnir, but they are not currently engaged in activities that need to be stopped."

Poshly asks Liraxes, "What keeps the sun in the sky and stops it from falling to the ground?"

Liraxes tonelessly says, "Liraxes's presence on this plane will no longer be necessary. Further details are not necessary."

Kerennya raises an eyebrow.

Nawain makes a grunting noise.

Nawain asks Liraxes, "Do you have any additional information regarding the current location of the discard gardener shown in one of the Elanthia-given visions?"

Liraxes tonelessly says to Poshly, "The sun being in the sky is a matter of perspective."

Poshly ponders.

Liraxes tonelessly says to Nawain, "Liraxes does not have any information on that subject available."

Nawain nods.

Zynell asks Poshly, "If you look in a pond is the sun there instead?"

Zynell playfully tilts her ears toward Liraxes.

Poshly blinks at Zynell.

Poshly says, "Blowing my mind here."

Kerennya asks Liraxes, "Do you have any information on whether additional casting of sorcery is yet needed?"

Zynell says to Poshly, "I am bonded to a moonwalker... minds are easily blown."

Haxen grins at Zynell.

Zynell playfully tilts her ears in opposite directions.

Liraxes tonelessly says to Kerennya, "Additional sorcery continues to be useful. Both for an irritant to the Heralds, and helping to restore the Balance to mana."

Zynell grins.

Kerennya nods to Liraxes.

Nawain nods.

Zynell says, "Aye, but i enjoy unusual company silly."

Zynell giggles.

Gypsy Ysindre came through an opening in the wall.

Zynell asks, "What is the probability of more drakes invading?"

Liraxes tonelessly says, "Expect additional action from the Heralds, but probability calculations continue to indicate that they will not reach apocalyptic scale before the Immortals are able to act."

Zynell playfully tilts her ears toward Liraxes.

Nawain chuckles.

Rileos says to Zynell, "Oh, that's a certainty I'm sure."

Nawain says, "It knew you were going to ask that."

Nawain nods in agreement.

Zynell says, "Well it got quiet so i am running an accuracy test."

Zynell shrugs.

Rileos chuckles.

Haxen smirks.

Pack Brother Ghust came through an opening in the wall.

Etasia came through an opening in the wall.

Etasia chuckles.

Ysindre smiles at Etasia.

Etasia says, "Alirighty Ghust."

Ghust bows to Etasia.

Etasia dimples at Ysindre.

Etasia hugs Ysindre, who wraps her arms around Etasia with a warm smile.

Nawain waves to Ghust.

Etasia hugs Zynell, getting a smile in return.

Zynell asks, "Is there a probability of your joining us for celebrations tonight?"

Etasia waves.

Nawain waves to Etasia.

Zynell hugs Etasia, who wraps her arms around Zynell with a warm smile.

Etasia says, "See ya laters."

Etasia smiles, revealing the dimples in her cheeks.

Haxen went through an opening in the wall.

Ghust waves to Nawain.

Ysindre hugs Etasia, who wraps her arms around Ysindre with a warm smile.

Kerennya waves to Ghust.

Etasia went through an opening in the wall.

Ghust waves to Kerennya.

Liraxes tonelessly says to Zynell, "Liraxes must continue to monitor the situation, accounting for any changes to probability calculations."

Rileos furrows his brow.

Zynell says, "A massive amount of experimentation might be worth monitoring up close."

Zynell shrugs.

Ghust quietly asks, "Ahm late here so could someone catch me up?"

Zynell says, "And i will take that as a perhaps on the drakes."

Zynell tilts her ears forward playfully.

Ysindre grins.

Liraxes tonelessly says, "If Liraxes is able to determine more specific actions to take in order to rescue the captives, Liraxes will share them once available."

Zynell says, "The immortals are being celebrated affter the dwarven revelry and sorcery experiments Zfora, you might enjoy at least one of those."

Urbaj nods to Liraxes.

Nawain says to Ghust, "A key opportunity to rescue those still imprisoned by the Heralds is coming very soon. Sorcery still helps the Immortals."

Liraxes tonelessly says, "For now, Liraxes returns to monitoring and calculating. Watch for activity from the Immortals, and be prepared to act swiftly when the time comes."

The air around Liraxes shimmers and distorts, and its crystalline form seems to recede into the distance without actually moving.  In just a moment it has taken the appearance of a tiny dot, at which point the distortion of the air vanishes with a faint pop.

Liraxes steps into a shadow and is simply gone!

Zynell grins.

Rileos says, "That should be pretty easy, they ain't been subtle of late."

Kerennya says, "It always just poofs."

Ysindre grins.

Nawain says to Ghust, "The sun is only in the sky from certain perspectives."

Rileos gazes up at the sky.

Nawain pats Ghust on the back.

Zynell says, "Then i will not see you at at least one."

Zynell giggles.

Ghust nods.

Urbaj chuckles.

Nawain nods.

* Liraxes returns home from a hard day of adventuring.

Zynell says, "Not terribly enlightening."

Poshly nods to Nawain.

Nawain says, "At least it isn't something horrible and doomlike."

Ghust quietly asks, "So, th more sorcery we use the easier it gets ta find the  missin people?"

Zynell says to Poshly, "It might be shatterable later."

Nawain says, "Almost positive, even."

Poshly says, "I think I had the best question."

Nawain ponders.

Poshly points at himself.

Nawain asks, "Are we sure it's actually from the Plane of Probability?"

Rileos says, "What's left to say?  There's a gigantic divine scorpion gonna give em the sting and then jump em."

Rileos shrugs.

Nawain waves to Poshly.

Kerennya says, "Sorcery irritates the Heralds and helps to restore balance."

Nawain grins at Rileos.

Zynell asks Poshly, "Does that mean i had best answers?"

Zynell sticks out her tongue at Poshly and lets loose with a loud, "Thbtbtbt" from her lips!

Poshly waves to Nawain.

Poshly nods to Zynell.

Zynell stands up.

Zynell carefully gathers up the delicate folds of a night-black starlight velvet prayer tapestry stitched with loimic and fey-bone.

Zynell puts her tapestry in her encompassing shadows.

Ghust quietly says, "Odd. Dont think ahve been here before."

Zynell says, "It did not know the drake invasion probability."

Zynell says, "So i vote no."

Zynell shrugs.

Ghust searches around for a moment.

Urbaj signals his departure with a courteous bow, and then is simply gone -- in what direction, or by what means, you cannot say for sure.

Sublime Mender Kerennya went through an opening in the wall.

Zynell asks Poshly, "Did you express your disappointment for missing the explosion?"

Zynell giggles.

Poshly nods to Zynell.

Zynell nods.

Gypsy Ysindre went through an opening in the wall.

Poshly says to Zynell, "You know how I love explosions."

Zynell says, "I do."

Zynell nods.

Zynell pats Poshly on the back.

Rileos screws his eyes shut and winces.

Poshly says, "Specially cleric explosions."

Ghust quietly says, "Fer a place that is supposed ta be towards wild magic, the life magic in here is REALLY strong."

Poshly says, "I think that thing has a crush on me."

Poshly shrugs.

Knight of Meraud Tirost came through an opening in the wall.

Nawain waves to Tirost.

Tirost waves.

Zynell nods to Poshly.

Ghust waves to Tirost.

Poshly says, "Should have heard it's whispers."

Zynell says, "Probably."

Tirost asks, "Liraxes was here?"

Ghust nods to Tirost.

Nawain says, "Yep."

Rileos says to Tirost, "You're late, it told us what we already knew and then left."

Tirost grins at Rileos.

Ghust ponders.

Tirost asks, "I am late. Now new information then?"

Tirost clears his throat.

Tirost asks, "No new information?"

Ghust pats Tirost on the back.

Tirost grins at Ghust.

Nawain says to Tirost, "There will be an opportunity soon for a rescue, which I think we'd all already sensed. That won't be the end of the the conflict between the Immortals and the Heralds, though."

Nawain says, "Tiro Kerennya wisely asked if more sorcery is still helpful, and it is."

Nawain coughs.

Tirost nods.

Poshly says, "Don't forget the part about the sun."

Rileos says, "Which is disappointing, was hopin this'd all be sorted in an afternoon."

Zynell says, "Saragos already announced he was going to  proceed with a rescue with or without a sign frommeraud."

Ghust quietly says, "Ah got a tattoo but cause it shares life magic it aint sorcery."

Tirost asks, "So even if we free our friends, the conflict between the Heralds and the Immortals is going to continue?"

Nawain nods to Tirost.

Tirost says, "What exactly did he say in that respect."

Ghust ponders.

Ghust quietly asks, "WHY are they fightin?"

Tirost says to Ghust, "At the most elemental level, it seems like a power struggle."

Rileos says to Tirost, "Why would it stop it?  It's always been a distraction from the wild magic and the fight."

Zynell says to Poshly, "That it might be in the pond."

Poshly looks at Zynell and sighs.

Zynell playfully tilts her ears toward Poshly.

Tirost says to Rileos, "I always figured once one has the upper hand definitively, it's over."

Ghust quietly says, "Uhh."

Nawain says, "It said... "Original calculations indicated that they would not be extracted until the resolution of this situation, but more recent data indicates that the conflict between the Heralds and the Immortals will not be resolved during this action, however."

Poshly leans on his zweihander.

Rileos says, "A really good one, mind, but still not the base problem."

Ghust quietly asks, "Anyone feel that?"

Tirost says to Nawain, "Interesting."

Nawain says, "It also said... "Additional sorcery continues to be useful. Both for an irritant to the Heralds, and helping to restore the Balance to mana."

Ghust ponders.

Tirost nods to Nawain.

Nawain says, "And... "Expect additional action from the Heralds, but probability calculations continue to indicate that they will not reach apocalyptic scale before the Immortals are able to act."

Tirost says, "Good news there, at least."

Nawain says, "Poshly asked what keeps the sun in the sky and stops it from falling to the ground."

Poshly nods to Nawain.

Poshly says, "Tell me that wasn't enlightening."

Nawain says to Tirost, "We were informed that the sun being in the sky is a matter of perspective."

Nawain nods to Poshly.

Ghust quietly asks, "Would an empath casting on wild magic hurt their soul?"

Tirost chuckles.

Ghust quietly says, "Okay you HAD to have felt that."

Nawain says to Ghust, "No. But you're not "casting on wild magic". You're casting sorcery."

Nawain asks Ghust, "Felt what?"

Ghust quietly says, "The floor moving."

Poshly just pinched himself!

Tirost says, "Wonder if the Merelew or the leviathans will have any insights into how to restore a more consistent balance."

Zynell gives Poshly a good pinch!

Poshly beams at Zynell!

Nawain says to Ghust, "The internal workings of the machine, I think."

Poshly just tickled Zynell, making her laugh.

Ghust nods.

Tirost says, "However it goes, our people have been locked away far too long. Glad to hear we'll have our chance to get them free."

Zynell grins.

Nawain nods to Tirost.

Ghust nods in agreement.

Nawain says to Tirost, "Top up on your remedies."

Tirost grins at Nawain.

Tirost says, "Will do."

Ghust ponders.

Nawain says to Tirost, "No promise that there's magic in there, even with the Immortals' assistance."

Tirost says, "Luckily, we've got Crobin, but I'll keep my remedies stocked."

Nawain chuckles.

Nawain nods.

Rileos says to Nawain, "Well, I'm unsure how well a spear will do against....that...but I suppose we'll find out."

Rileos points up.

Nawain grins at Rileos.

Tirost nods to Rileos.

Nawain says to Rileos, "Rescuing our friends is a smaller scale conflict, I think."

Poshly looks thoughtfully at Zynell.

Rileos says to Nawain, "For sure, I'm growin increasingly concerned that people are lookin at it like the finish line when the world is still on fire with wild magic."

Nawain nods in agreement.

Tirost says to Rileos, "It certainly seems the worst of its effects have diminished."

Zynell angles her ears forward, gazing curiously at Poshly.

Rileos says to Tirost, "Yeah, and now we're about to make em mighty ornery so."

Rileos looks at Tirost and shrugs.

Tirost says, "True."

Poshly leans over and licks Zynell, getting an amiable jab in the ribs in return.

Rileos says, "Nevermind what that amount of divinity on our plane is gonna do to the place."

Rileos sighs.

Zynell gives Poshly a playful poke in the ribs.

Ghust ponders.

Rileos says, "Y'all ever miss when it was just some guy makin problems?  I miss that."

Tirost chuckles.

Poshly says, "I'm contemplating things. This has me in an existential mood."

Poshly says, "And yes I know what that word means."

Poshly nods to Zynell.

Tirost says to Rileos, "Never thought about it like that."

Rileos says to Tirost, "Well, now you're stuck in it, I'm not sorry."

Tirost says, "Some guy is much easier to deal with than Heralds, for sure."

Rileos gets a Granny's #3 whiskey from inside his liquor cabinet.

Rileos jumps back a few feet and lands on his rump, looking dazed!

Rileos stands up.

Tirost smiles at Rileos.

Tirost says, "I should head back south for now."

Zynell asks Poshly, "Are you sure you do?"

Tirost asks Rileos, "Plan on joining Briaen later?"

Rileos says to Tirost, "If I'm awake and about, unsure."

Tirost nods.

Poshly says to Zynell, "Yeah it means the exes are stential."

(Tirost turns to Zynell and Nawain.)

Tirost says, "I'm guessing you two will be there."

Nawain nods.

Nawain chuckles.

Zynell says, "Depends, i have had my fill of his anti shadow rhetoric."

Rileos says, "But in the meantime, I'm gonna get runnin on along."

Zynell rolls her eyes.

Rileos raises two fingers to his brow in a quick hand salute.

Tirost grins.

Roughneck Rileos went through an opening in the wall.

Tirost says to Zynell, "He was saved by the Dawn Mother. Got to give him a little slack."

Poshly gets a sword-shaped jelly bean from inside his hitman's backpack.

Ghust approaches the pedestal.

Tirost says, "Take care."

Tirost raises his hand in a quick salute.

Poshly blinks.

Zynell says to Tirost, "I know his tale, it does not excuse the call for erradication of my loved ones."

Nawain waves to Tirost.

Ghust quietly asks, "Is there somethin going on tonight?"

Zynell giggles.

Poshly shows Ghust his organza tutu.

Zynell says, "Zehira is no shadow."

Zynell shakes her head.

Ghust quietly says, "Nice tutu."

Poshly exclaims, "Thanks!"

Poshly says, "Zehira isn't a shadow."

Poshly shakes his head.

Poshly says, "She's a sweet little flower."

Ghust laughs!

Ghust coughs.

Nawain snorts, loudly.

Nawain asks Ghust, "Voted?"

Poshly scoffs.

Ghust quietly asks, "Voted on what?"

Nawain points at a crystalline pedestal extending from the center of the room.

Ghust quietly says, "Wont let me."

Zynell slowly empties her lungs.

Nawain says to Ghust, "Then you already did."

Poshly says, "One of the nicest people I know."

Nawain nods.

Poshly folds his arms across his chest.

Nawain pats Ghust on the back.

Zynell grins at Poshly.

Poshly puts his tutu in his hitman's backpack.

Nawain says to Poshly, "Except when her pets eat your head. Accidentally."

Nawain chuckles.

Poshly scoffs at Nawain.

Zynell says, "They ate his chest."

Zynell shrugs.

Poshly says, "Now listen, I won that spar, I just tried to help her out by tending and then things happened."

Nawain grins at Poshly.

Poshly grins at Nawain.

Poshly exclaims to Nawain, "But you came and rescued me!"

Poshly beams at Nawain!

Nawain nods.

Poshly says, "But really, I do think she's pretty great."

Poshly nods.

Poshly says, "Just misunderstood."

A nervous tic starts up around Nawain's eye.

Zynell grins at Poshly.

Poshly asks, "And yes her pets like to eat me. Can you blame them?"

Nawain pleasantly asks Ghust, "Would you like an escort back to Crossings?"

Poshly points at himself.

Ghust quietly says, "Sure."

Ghust smiles at Nawain.

Nawain clasps Ghust's hand tenderly.

Nawain nods.

Nawain nods to Poshly.
