Very little is recognizable from the workshop's original contents.  The walls are broken off at half their intended height and the area lies open to the elements.  The only obvious sign of the room's prior function, odd glowing stains marking the floor, are most likely the result of past experiments gone awry.  You also see a grey cat, a tubby honey badger, a smokey grey leopard with hypnotic crimson eyes and flecks of ashes on her fur that is sitting, a monstrous nightmare-black panther with sharp blue-hazed eyes that is sitting, a coppery saluki puppy flaunting a goldenglow glaes collar and jadeleaf snood and a worn stone.<br>

Saragos says, "Tonight, we're going to be reproducing the experiment that caused Ayrell, Dantia, Mazrian, Miskton, and Navesi to disappear.  Our missing may be able to see us.  I hope that they at least will take heart that so many were gathered here to help learn enough to bring them back."

This worn stone is the one-hundred thirty-ninth stone in the pattern on the floor, precisely where Navesi stood when she was taken. Absent the strange markings and glow present across the rest of the room, it has five circles marking the points of a star on its surface.  The adjacent stones are slightly cracked.


Rileos raises two fingers to his brow in a quick hand salute.

Mendira gazes at a worn stone.

Saragos quietly says, "We're coming for you.  Soon as we can."

War Healer Misteeus just arrived.

Saragos stands up.

Nawain gazes at Saragos.

Zalinyar lets out a loud "Huzzah!"

Saragos says, "In many ways, I feel like reproducing the experiment will teach us much.  If the experiment goes off without disruption, we will potentially learn more about what caused them to be kidnapped.  Or if nothing happens, we will learn that the kidnapping had more to do with something else, and less their experiments."

Zalinyar takes a sip of her rum.

Saragos says, "If the experiment is disrupted, then we will know very clearly that there is some entity that very much does not want us to learn what these experiments can teach us, and we will know that that this must be repeated until the secrets are unlocked."

A pained expression crosses Sukidesu's face.

Saragos says, "If another attempt is made to use the black sphere against us, I bid you all watch it very carefully.  Watch it for the mana types, the proportion, the shape of the spell pattern.  I believe it likely that this is the effect that put them in the Null Prison, and studying it can allow us to duplicate the effect - and hopefully reverse it."

Saragos says, "If I end up being taken, I urge you to continue the work of reverse-engineering the effect used to imprison them in efforts to bring them back.  Use me as a test to make sure it's working properly, if so.  And Heralds, or Gardener, or whoever if you take me, you'll be giving up the game - we'll know exactly what you don't want us to know."

Saragos says, "Now, for the experiment itself, it was done in three parts.  For the first experiment, those of different attunements will try to wield streams close to one another. For the second, we will harness a great amount of power of different mana types. And for the third, we will together research Wild Magic in hopes that the compounded research will bring us to new conclusions."

Saragos says, "None of it's very complicated.  And it's way less intense of any kind of Sorcerous working than anything that's been done lately.  That's why I think they were on to something."

Saragos says, "Now, I've some things to ask of you all."

Saragos says, "Use Gauge Flow and watch closely for spell effects.  Try to study them so that they could be reproduced.  Watch closely for any results of the experiments, especially those that would seem to confirm what Valenal was saying.  And finally, watch closely when we do our group Wild Magic research.  We may come to different conclusions when we all work together in concert."

[Lava Fields, Edge of the Primal Encasement]<br>
The air is choked with ash, but despite the suffocating wind and shattered basalt, a writhing mass of vines and flowing stone is visible, emerging from the once lifeless waste. Carving a neat circular crater and forming a massive teardrop around the space the city of Dirge once occupied, the vines trail ash and dust as they sweep across the land and flutter against the sky. The large structure stretches high, crowned by a beam of golden light.  <br>
