It has been 448 years, 8 days since the Victory of Lanival the Redeemer.

It is the 1st month of Akroeg the Ram in the year of the Silver Unicorn.

It is currently winter and it is late evening.

The farmland here has been allowed to become a field of wildflowers. Blue forget-me-nots, brilliant orange poppies, white larkspurs, and miniature sunflowers blend together in a riot of hues amidst the backdrop of dark green grasses. Flitting from flower to flower, rotund bumblebees create a humming buzz. Placed at the edge of the myriad of blooms is a finely wrought iron gate. You also see a weathered sign, an expansive purpleheart retreat with a copper-roofed cupola atop the ridgepole and a bright yellow plaid cloth with several things on it.

A cloud of silver-grey mist churns into being, glistening with an unearthly radiance from within its depths.

Polychromatic streaks of light flare brilliantly between the two clouds, which are then impelled to merge together. Once the streaks fade, the mist turns silver-grey again, seeming more intensely saturated in hue than before.

Chepiso's blade radiates yellow, crashing with an incinerating brilliance and lands an awesome strike that temporarily knocks away Harsh's breath with a shocking blow to the chest.

A dancing aura of spectral flame begins to waver about Harsh's lifeless body.

The faint outline of a spectral bird rises from the flame surrounding Harsh's corpse, spreading its wings wide as it raises its head to the heavens and calls out with a keening cry!

Harsh's body is fully engulfed in a funeral pyre of insatiable, roaring flame!

Chepiso says, "I had looked forward to you being more formidable than these two."

The raging flames continue to consume Harsh's body, charring it badly. The spectral bird silently beats its wings, its gaze affixed on the heavens above.

Amid the swirling fervor of the sweltering flame, Harsh shudders once and his eyelids snap open. he fixes his gaze unflinchingly upward, yielding to the feverish fire that devours and nurtures him. his chest rises and falls with renewed, instinctive breath.

The spectral bird stretches out its wings, held aloft in the air by the pyre of flame.

A serene expression crosses Harsh's face as he stands amid the blazing pyre, staring past you, as if seeing something of divine importance in the beyond. The flames continue to dance and swirl about him, but he seems to take comfort in their presence.

The dancing aura of spectral flame surrounding Harsh suddenly falls dim as he steps from the circle of ashen ruin. As the pyre dies, the ghostly bird soars into the sky with a joyous keen, leaving a blazing trail of brilliant gold and red flame in its wake.

Harsh looks up and sighs, smiling.

As Harsh intones a quiet prayer to Damaris, his hands begin to glow faintly silver. He extends a glowing hand towards the body of Mendira.
