Thanks to the efforts of Boar Clan, adventurers are now able to travel directly between Forfedhdar and Therengia! Look for the wizened guide at one of her two travel points: Hag's Crag, Widow's Respite (Asketi's Mount) or Svesinek Cels, Blocked Canyon (Siksraja).

In addition, there is a new Ranger trail along the same route, for those who can run faster than the aforementioned old Dwarf.

Travel

The ranger is an old Dwarven woman with whitish blond hair, clad in fur.

She runs a guide service between:

[Svesinek Cels, Blocked Canyon] RanikMap148
The distance between the surrounding hills is narrower and the gentleness of the slope disappears, exchanged for high bluffs on either side. The result of this geographical change is that the pleasant countryside is now a narrow canyon overshadowed by enormous rock formations. A huge boulder has crashed down on the roadway and blocks access through the canyon at this point. Obvious paths: southeast.

and:

[Hag's Crag, Widow's Respite] RanikMap137
A deep firepit has been hacked into the frozen earth. It is protected from the howling mountain winds by a circlet of small craggy rocks. Grouped close to the firepit are huge tree trunks that have been cut in half lengthwise to provide crude, uncomfortable benches. You also see a frozen stump with a chiseled out hollow at its base. Obvious paths: northeast, west.

Syntax

  • JOIN ranger: Join ranger twice to follow her and pay the toll.

Cost

Cost appears to be circle based.
At 150th circle I was quoted 3000 coppers.
At 97th circle the cost is 1940 coppers.
No idea if there's a minimum floor for the toll.

The ranger says, "I'm leaving shortly, returning to Forfedhdar. If you would like to accompany me for a safe trip there, just join me." The ranger smiles.
[JOIN WIZENED RANGER before it leaves if you would like to go to Forfedhdar.]
The ranger says, "Woah there, sir. I can only take a handful with me at a time. It's going to cost you if you want to come along. I'll accept X copper Lirums."
The ranger says, "Alright. That'll be X Lirums." You hand over your funds and step closer. You join the ranger. "Right this way, sir."

The ranger says, "I'm leaving shortly, returning to Therengia. If you would like to accompany me for a safe trip there, just join me." The ranger smiles.
[JOIN WIZENED RANGER before it leaves if you would like to go to Therengia.]
The ranger says, "Woah there, sir. I can only take a handful with me at a time. It's going to cost you if you want to come along. I'll accept X copper Dokoras."
The ranger says, "Alright. That'll be X Dokoras." You hand over your funds and step closer. You join the ranger. "Right this way, sir."

Travel Time

The wizened ranger waits approximately 2 minutes at each terminus. If you join her, she leaves immediately. Each one way trip takes approximately 8 minutes.

NPC Arrival/Departure Announcement

A wizened ranger just arrived, leading her group.

A wizened ranger heads down the mountain, leading her group.

Notes

  • A ranger trail exists at both locations for faster travel (than the guide can offer) for rangers and their groups.
  • Two way telepathic communication from gwethdesuans, albredine crystal rings and thoughtcast all work while on the trail.
  • Most spells can be cast while on the trail.
