Vashir is one of the few Barbarians to favor heavy plate, and wears a unique set of armor enhanced with [[Metal#Anlora-avtoma|anlora-avtoma]], a rare metal said to be resistant to magic.

Fortunately (or unfortunately, depending on who you ask) the deadly creatures that inhabit M'riss and Mer'Kresh attract all manner of powerful adventurers who both help and harm the local population in almost equal measures. In the year 392 AV one such man happened upon Vashir and his father while the two were bringing their day's catch into town. Though his fine clothing and equipment made it painfully obvious he could afford to buy as many fish as he desired, the man chose instead to steal one, brazenly plucking it away without so much as a word to the fisherman or his son. Outraged, Vashir turned to confront the man, however his father (knowing better than to challenge such a person) pulled the boy away from the conflict and told him to keep him mouth shut.

However, he is not one to avoid battle, and always rushed to meet the undead hordes when fighting broke out nearby. This led to sporadic participation in skirmishes throughout the five provinces.
Vashir has played only a very minor role in the war with Lyras and her minions - early participation resulted in his swift defeat, and his recent return to Mer'Kresh has removed him from the daily struggles on the mainland. Though he has made his way back to [[Crossing]] to repel undead incursions in the past, he refuses to do so now after being twice arrested for months-old minor shoplifting charges while risking life and limb to protect the city.

During the battle [[Sahfra]], strongest among Lyras's risen, led a vicious assault on the city, but was soundly defeated before she could breach the temple defenses. Although it took the combined effort of many heroes to bring her down it was Vashir who struck the final blow, killing her one last time with a simple log foraged from just outside the city gates after the loss of his throwing hammer earlier in the battle.
He has had numerous romantic interests over the years but eventually found his soulmate in [[Laniea|Laniea Azra]], and the two remain happily bonded to this day. He has one son, Keraen, and two adopted daughters, Rineta and Mahya.
