S'lai Issue

The inclusion in a map's box is handled from the creature page itself. Delete the location reference there and it should remove itself. -Moderator Caraamon Makdasi(talk) 01:21, 25 August 2009 (UTC)

For the impatient, you can also poke a Mod into refreshing the Map's page. Automatic parts like the creature listing is not double checked every time the map loads and can take a few days to update without manually forcing it.

Stone Weapons

I modified the formatting for stone weapons, please take a look and let me know if you have any questions or issues. -Moderator Caraamon Makdasi(talk) 05:57, 12 March 2012 (UTC)
I do have got a few:

  • Just for aesthetics and consistancy: 'somewhat moderate' could be either 'some mod' or 's.mod'

I think 'some mod' might be easier to read, but 's.mod' is already used so it might be easier to just to convert my some mods to s.mods.

  • Now that I've been thinking about it for a while, would it be better to have all the related forum posts on the weaponsmithing page so that they're all together or leave them on each weapon's page?

Following that, would this post (Post:Kertig..._Sadness_-_08/31/2011_-_13:11) need a {{prel=Weapon:Cutlass_(crafted)}} or a {{prel=Weaponsmithing_discipline}}?

  • One last thing: with all the strings and such, we should put together some sort of standardized thing for making crafted weapon pages. It would be a good thing to have in the Elanthipedia:Manual_of_Style.

For myself, I just used s.moderate for space reasons.
Unless the post is specifically talking about a specific weapon template, it should be weaponsmithing. For example, the post you listed mentions cutlasses... but it doesn't really give any useful info about that specific template.
As for the standard, it's on my list. -Moderator Caraamon Makdasi(talk) 22:49, 12 March 2012 (UTC)

? Issue

The ? character is used as a system character in addresses at times, which means names with them in them can cause some issues. I would generally leave it out, unless there's a good reason to keep them. -Moderator Caraamon Makdasi(talk) 22:23, 29 April 2013 (UTC)

Fenwyrthie's Curio Shop

Just wanted to explaining why I reverted. If you delete the item from the page completely, it messes with the automatic sourcing on the item pages. -Moderator Caraamon Makdasi(talk) 02:16, 29 June 2013 (UTC)

Template Tweaking

Possibly silly question, but does Caraamon know you're tweaking templates? They're a little more back end than most edits normally made, so they're generally not touched by anyone without his blessing. I don't mind checking with him tonight, and I'm not against the tweaks, but sometimes Very Bad Things happen if those get adjusted incorrectly as opposed to an item entry or something. Just asking because I saw them pop up on my things to approve and, while I want to check with him first before unflagging them, I also don't want you to put time into all those technical adjustments only to have the stuff wiped. --TEVESHSZAT 20:16, 1 July 2013 (UTC)

It wasn't protected, so I figured it was alright (I was very careful with them). Haven't asked yet, but I intend to next time he logs onto AIM because I've also got another template-related question. So far the templates seem to be working and I've got one title complete and up to date: title:Arcane Infiltrator --Otterino 20:27, 1 July 2013 (UTC)
No worries! It's entirely possible that I'm just being overly cautious about it, but can't hurt to double check. --TEVESHSZAT 20:56, 1 July 2013 (UTC)
