==Weapon Template Error==

The damage template is missing "demolishing." Example: {{ilink|w|massive kertig maul with gnarled smokewood haft}}<br>
<br>
Damage scale: [[Appraisal_skill#Weapons]]

==Template Request: Material Properties==

Etherian has been working on an [https://drservice.info/static/alterationbuddy.htm Alteration Buddy], and we were thinking it would be extremely helpful for those designing alterations to be able to query for certain "fluff" properties of materials. This would best be accomplished by making a "Material Properties: template with the following fields:

Using '''-''' for any field would set the value to ''none''.

*'''Material Name''': same as page name unless otherwise specified

*'''Category''': drop-down menu with the following options:
::bone/horn‎, fabric‎, flower/plant, gem, leather‎, metal, shell, stone‎, wood, or other

*'''Type of''': if the material is considered a sub-type, variation, or alloy of another material, such as moonsilver (silver), steelsilk (silk), glacier emerald (emerald), etc.
::''This should be treated as N/A if blank.''

Note: I know there are existing [[:Category:Materials|category tags]] for the above two options. think it would ultimately be better to move the page categorization from the manual category tags to the template. I am happy to do this work once the template is set up.

*'''Description''': I would move the official description of the material from free text to the template

*'''Required for Alterations''': drop-down (yes or no)
::''This should be flagged as unknown if blank.''

*'''Color''': if the material has an inherent or default color, drop-down menu with the following options:
::red/pink, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, neutral (white/black/grey), multicolored, or none (if the material has no inherent color)

*'''Gives light''': drop-down menu (yes or no). When altering an item, the item cannot give off light unless it is made of a material that gives off light, such as moonsilver. I have found myself searching for materials with this property to match a design.
::''Because light is a rare property, this value should be presumed no if blank.''

*'''Race association''': drop-down menu with the following options:
::none, Dwarf, Elf, Elothean, Gnome, Gor'Tog, Halfling, Human, Kaldar/Gorbesh, Prydaen, Rakash, or S'Kra Mur
:::''Because race associations are rare, this value should be presumed none if blank.''

*'''Guild association''': drop-down menu with the following options:
::none, Barbarian, Bard, Cleric, Empath, Moon Mage, Necromancer, Paladin, Ranger, Thief, Trader, or Warrior Mage
:::''Because guild associations are rare, this value should be presumed none if blank.''

*'''God association''': drop-down menu with the following options:
::none, Chadatru, Rutilor, Botolf, Damaris, Phelim, Dergati, Eluned, Lemicus, Drogor, Everild, Kuniyo, Trothfang, Faenella, Murrula, Idon, Glythtide, Saemaus, Be'ort, Hav'roth, Peri'el, Ushnish, Hodierna, Berengaria, Asketi, Kertigen, Divyaush, Zachriedek, Meraud, Firulf, Kerenhappuch, Tamsine, Albreda, Harawep, Truffenyi, Alamhif, Huldah, Urrem'tier, Eylhaar, Aldauth, Rakash god(s), Prydaen god(s), Alaudian/Gorbesh god(s), Gnomish god(s), or other
:::''Because god associations are rare, this value should be presumed none if blank.''

I would adapt the [[Elanthipedia:Manual_of_Style/Items|Manual of Style]] standards for items for use with materials.

==Templates==
Are we allowed to add theme music to a wiki page... or rolling credits?

Something is wrong with the armor template, where it's flagged as cambrinth, but the max charge isn't displaying. E.g., {{ilink|a|dark glaes armor inlaid with complex cambrinth designs}} --[[User:ISHARON|ISHARON]] ([[User talk:ISHARON|talk]]) 20:08, 28 January 2017 (CST)
: Go ahead and link to music if you like, but nothing that auto-plays on the page itself, assuming we're even set up to do that.

::::Ugh, looks like some red-links are still on the crafting materials page from the server transfer. Also, there are some naming things going on when you look at the [[Crafting Materials#Rare Leather]], sometimes it is an ''item'' other times it is just a page. I don't think I'll be re-visiting this in the near future, however if you want to let me know the page naming standard you want for things, if it hasn't been done by the time I motivate, I'll be happy to go through and standardize and follow-up on the red-links. --[[Kythryn]] 15:33, 25 January 2015 (CST)

== Crossing Temple Festival ==

So, when I was working on the [[choryu cake]] page, I found an archived folder on my backup drive that had a bunch of documents I'd made from various festivals over years before sweet, sweet epedia came along (heh). I'll work my way through updating things over the next week from them, but I found one that epedia doesn't have (I don't think anyhow, I couldn't find anything with searches) a category and/or festival page set up for yet. In 2001, the "new" Crossing temple was opened and there were about 15 merchants that set up on the grounds. Did you want to set that category & festival page up? Or create the red-links here and I'll populate them next time I sit down to document? Thanks! --[[Kythryn]] 10:52, 13 January 2015 (CST)
: Yeah, I think it was too early for Epedia and too late for DFP, or something around there. Just keep 'em redlinked until you put something in there. -[[User:CARAAMON|CARAAMON]] ([[User talk:CARAAMON|talk]]) 16:11, 13 January 2015 (CST)
:: Whew, your TALK page is getting long! Popular fella...:). Going to put a quick note on these sub-topics I've addressed so you can clean your "inbox" up if you want.

== Pit Boards ==

[Elding Gwilt, Kvaren's]
Being the resident Barbarian expert around here...:) Did you want a page created for the Pit Board rosters? I'm sitting here looking at the Ratha one, and while I'm guessing it has to do with Barbarians beating the tar out of each other, I figured I'd ask before jumping into formatting the table for it if there's some reason it shouldn't be on epedia. Thanks! --[[Kythryn]] 01:33, 7 March 2015 (CST)
There is little space to move about in this cramped shop. The bronze door opens inward, guiding customers straight to a display counter, while not making maneuvering any easier. To the left of the the counter, a number of axes have been placed on display on a rack. Adding to the clutter of the establishment, a small shelf hangs above a stout table, each showing off their own wares.
: We have guild renown boards, so I don't see why not. Go for it! -[[User:CARAAMON|CARAAMON]] ([[User talk:CARAAMON|talk]]) 17:54, 7 March 2015 (CST)
Obvious exits: none.

On the display counter you see a small iron axe bearded with bright steel, an oak-hafted hurling axe with a wide steel blade inlaid with gold tracings, a slender steel throwing axe with a white leather-wrapped haft, a heavy bronze hurling axe with a river boa-shaped haft, a short-hafted hand axe with a dragon-engraved blade, a small axe with faint engravings along its length and a light bronze throwing axe with a grass eel-shaped haft.
== Forging lightweight HCS Poignards ==

On the axe rack you see a dark ironwood-hafted axe with a cruelly serrated head, a hand axe with an iron-banded handle, a smoke grey lochaber axe with a mottled steel head, a flint-bladed axe with a lengthened handle, an elm-handled battle axe topped by a grinning steel wolfshead, a black iron axe with a maple handle wrapped in thin leather cording, a twohanded war axe with a skull-shaped pommel, a crescent-bladed war axe engraved with a flame pattern, a goldenoak-hafted battle axe with a shining silvered blade and a sleek lochaber axe with a razored edge.
Forging lightweight poignards from HCS for gnomes: a) I have found no way to reflect "honed" in the [[Weapon:Poignard (crafted)|HC Steel table]]. Honed is the only way I know to make a 6 stone poignard from HCS, but I would prefer to make it explicit if possible. Can that be shown? How? b) my appraisals (certain) for 6 stone (honed) and 7 stone HCS poignards are identical to one another at mod/low/dismal, terrible, except-well/dismal when masterfully crafted from 99 material. Wondering if the 7 stone data in the table (shows excellently balanced) is a reality I somehow cannot duplicate, represents a balanced poignard not evident in the table, or an error. Please advise --[[User:JBEETLE|Jbeetle]] 18:16 March 27, 2015 (UTC)
: I've set up a temporary way to display notes, but I'm not sure we should do it. Balancing for sure is out, as it has predictable results always, but honing is still a problem as it will double the size of the tables. I'll have to think about it.
: I rechecked the poignard and you were right, the balance was off.-[[User:CARAAMON|CARAAMON]] ([[User talk:CARAAMON|talk]]) 18:06, 27 March 2015 (CDT)
:: Very good. Thanks for verifying the weapon balance. WRT to managing table size, perhaps the honed note (if preserved) should be reserved for weights that can only be achieved through honing. If so, then would it simply be supplemental and prevent unnecessary duplication? For your considerarion. -[[User:JBEETLE|Jbeetle]] 21:52 27 March 2015 (CDT)

On the small shelf you see a dented flask, a leather flask, a hammered brass flask, an engraved flask and a wooden flask.
== Forging Table Data Missing? ==

On the stout table you see a bronze paintstick, a cobalt blue paintstick, a leaf-green paintstick, a note, a blood-red paintstick, a purple paintstick, a gold paintstick, a maroon paintstick and a black paintstick.
Went in today to look up some weapon properties and data in the tables has been replaced by "?" for everything except weight for some forged items including katar, carving knife, and short hammer. -[[User:JBEETLE|Jbeetle]] 19:28 10 April 2015 (CDT)
: You can fix it by editing, making no changes, then saving. I'm not sure why it's happening, but I'll look into it. -[[User:CARAAMON|CARAAMON]] ([[User talk:CARAAMON|talk]]) 18:02, 10 April 2015 (CDT)

Hey Caraamon, assuming you still have admin/mod privs here can you move my old userpage from the prior incarnation of elanthipedia (User:Callek) to my new one User:CALLEK per the freemium play.net account I just got. (feel free to e-mail me at the address you likely have on record if you need a confirm). Hi Caraamon -

I have tried sfhunter.txt, odt, and docx. I uploaded a new version in November and have made some fixes I need to get uploaded.
I'm a ridiculously beginner forger but I am looking to get heavy into armorsmithing. Do you have any additional resources beyond what's on Elanthipedia for metal mixes? Or should I not even worry about alloys and the like?

When you can please take a look.
Any advice would be awesome.

== Searching ==

== Adding TOC to player template card ==
So, as an fyi, I learned that Searching the wiki fails when you uncheck various namespaces (e.g. if I want to search for stuff not in items, or not in Posts) I did verify that at least one thing in the "(Main)" namespace result set (a post) was actually in the Post namespace (per wiki <nowiki>{{NAMESPACE}}</nowiki>) which might be a need of regenerating the search/namespace index or something. --[[User:CALLEK|CALLEK]] ([[User talk:CALLEK|talk]]) 10:28, 27 April 2015 (CDT)

Hey Caraamon! Having a Table of Contents and a Player Template Card on the same page was bugging me, so I wanted to take a shot at combining the two. See it in action on [[Uzmam]]'s page. [[User:ABSOLON|Absolon]] also helped out by making it a y/n toggle. I also took the left hand padding from the TOC, changed it into a margin, and adding it to the player template as a whole, giving some space between the main body copy and the player template card.
== Semantic Media Wiki ==

If you like how it works (and if it doesn't break anything!), we can flow it into the default templates for PCs and NPCs. Maybe even shops, who knows! --[[User:TEVESHSZAT|TEVESHSZAT]] ([[User talk:TEVESHSZAT|talk]]) 22:33, 13 January 2016 (CST)
So, when looking at special pages it appears that I have the admin access to the SMW functions (e.g. the regen all data). Which was already started when I looked, it's at 0%, I can infact cancel and restart those admin features.

I wonder if I retained/gained admin abilities in that regard again, or if '''everyone''' has those abilities (everyone shouldn't). It might also explain part of the issue with regard to the Semantic Searching not working. And might spell a problem with the overall SMW install.

== Title redirect / caching issue? ==
Felt this was worth a note to pass off to SIMU-WHoever. --[[User:CALLEK|CALLEK]] ([[User talk:CALLEK|talk]]) 14:41, 27 May 2015 (CDT)
Ok I came across a weird issue in regards to titles. Take the title "Shadowmancer" for example. If you go to the [[Title:Shadowmancer]] title page everything is right. If you click on the discussion tab in [[Title:Shadowmancer]] or directly go to [[Shadowmancer]] which redirects to [[Title:Shadowmancer]] you see some old cached version of the page (which you can't edit, when you try to you edit the current version, not this cached version). Now oddly if while on that bad cached page, you click the "(Redirected from Shadowmancer)" link, it takes you back to [[Shadowmancer]], and then when you manually click the redirect link, it takes you to the correct [[Title:Shadowmancer]]. Not sure really what is going on here. Sorry if that is a bit confusing but hopefully it's detailed enough.

Also as an aside question, for updating titles, the article obsolete stub says "Some of these requirements have not been updated to 3.0. These requirements are italicized." I add the new=yes field to a title when I know all the reqs are updated and it gets rid of the "This article is obsolete" stub, but I'm not sure how to make updated reqs be non italicized (though I guess once the stub is removed it doesn't really matter if they are italicized or not?). -[[User:SYDNEE|SYDNEE]] ([[User talk:SYDNEE|talk]]) 14:20, 13 February 2016 (CST)

: Unfortunately, that's an odd bug that is not something we can fix. I'm not sure exactly what causes it, but we have a bunch of similar bugs having to do with missing discussion pages.

Hey! I saw you happened on my faux shop page. I'm entering the Premie "Design a Shop" contest, and this seemed to be the best way for me to organize all the data. Hopefully it doesn't cause any issues!
Moved to [[Elanthipedia Bugs]].

== Retiring ==
: I'm afraid it does. We only allow actual existing in-game items to be put up. It would cause such confusion if people were allowed to put up their items they're considering altering (or even altering) or design ideas.

: I need you to take it down, please. I'll give you a couple days to do it, so you can save the info, but after that I'm going to have to start deleting it outright. -[[User:CARAAMON|CARAAMON]] ([[User talk:CARAAMON|talk]]) 16:14, 16 August 2015 (CDT)

Got it- I'll take it down ASAP.

"This item is trains a skill with its use." is what they say right now, I'd change it myself but not sure how/where. Hey Caraamon, either this ([https://elanthipedia.play.net/mediawiki/index.php?title=General_new_player_guide&curid=94367&diff=422015&oldid=412481]) was a mistake or its not, if not you likely need to remove ref to SIMUCOIN, if it is not as well I'd love a citation, since I *just* bought simucoins for offline drain as well, since I didn't have it as f2p as of a few days ago. --[[User:CALLEK|CALLEK]] ([[User talk:CALLEK|talk]]) 00:22, 1 September 2015 (CDT)
I hope this is the right place to post this.

I created a page for my character [[Enalen]] a couple days ago. It's been added to the proper categories via the PC template, and they are linked at the end of the page so that seems to be working fine. But when you go to any of those categories, her page isn't actually filed under them. Also I added an image to the database and put it on the page. It displays properly on the character page but when you look at the image's info page, it claims nothing links to it.
== Forged steel greataxe ==
:Unfortunately, category pages take a while to populate. If the recent Chris' Mass shop category page is any indication, this should happen automatically within a week. By the way, please only use the actual race name (for example, Elf), not clans, in the race field. I added a category at the bottom to categorize your page as a player River Elf. --[[User:ISHARON|ISHARON]] ([[User talk:ISHARON|talk]]) 18:13, 7 January 2017 (CST)

On top of those two things, I'm unable to create my own user page. When I click my Username and click create, I am sent to a blank page with nothing on it. The create page shows up fine when clicking any other red link though. Are these bugs? Or are they some of the functions that were broken by the update mentioned? -- [[User:DOOMKITTY|DOOMKITTY]] ([[User talk:DOOMKITTY|talk]]) 05:42, 3 January 2017 (CST)

== Still Around? ==
I'm a fairly new adventurer (Circle 19 Barb) I'm fairly curious if you've found, in your experience, that lighter or heavier weapons deal more damage over time. I find that I generally have better luck with lighter 2HE. Is this typical of lower base strength and agility characters? If so, what is the lightest steel greataxe you can forge is it 44, or can there be an 8% reduction on top of that which would bring it to 41 or 40 stones?

Hey Caraamon are you still around?
-Halgore

:It's really not that simple. If you're just moving into a hunting area or are having trouble hitting things, a light balanced weapon is going to excel. If you're already well into your hunting ground, then heavier, more damaging weapons start to pull ahead.
:44 is the lightest standard steel greataxe that can be made, but yes, it can be honed further down to 40. -[[User:CARAAMON|CARAAMON]] ([[User talk:CARAAMON|talk]]) 23:47, 27 November 2015 (CST)

Weapon Template Error

The damage template is missing "demolishing." Example: massive kertig maul with gnarled smokewood haft

Damage scale: Appraisal_skill#Weapons

Template Request: Material Properties

Etherian has been working on an Alteration Buddy, and we were thinking it would be extremely helpful for those designing alterations to be able to query for certain "fluff" properties of materials. This would best be accomplished by making a "Material Properties: template with the following fields:

Using - for any field would set the value to none.

  • Material Name: same as page name unless otherwise specified
  • Category: drop-down menu with the following options:
bone/horn‎, fabric‎, flower/plant, gem, leather‎, metal, shell, stone‎, wood, or other
  • Type of: if the material is considered a sub-type, variation, or alloy of another material, such as moonsilver (silver), steelsilk (silk), glacier emerald (emerald), etc.
This should be treated as N/A if blank.

Note: I know there are existing category tags for the above two options. think it would ultimately be better to move the page categorization from the manual category tags to the template. I am happy to do this work once the template is set up.

  • Description: I would move the official description of the material from free text to the template
  • Required for Alterations: drop-down (yes or no)
This should be flagged as unknown if blank.
  • Color: if the material has an inherent or default color, drop-down menu with the following options:
red/pink, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, neutral (white/black/grey), multicolored, or none (if the material has no inherent color)
  • Gives light: drop-down menu (yes or no). When altering an item, the item cannot give off light unless it is made of a material that gives off light, such as moonsilver. I have found myself searching for materials with this property to match a design.
Because light is a rare property, this value should be presumed no if blank.
  • Race association: drop-down menu with the following options:
none, Dwarf, Elf, Elothean, Gnome, Gor'Tog, Halfling, Human, Kaldar/Gorbesh, Prydaen, Rakash, or S'Kra Mur
Because race associations are rare, this value should be presumed none if blank.
  • Guild association: drop-down menu with the following options:
none, Barbarian, Bard, Cleric, Empath, Moon Mage, Necromancer, Paladin, Ranger, Thief, Trader, or Warrior Mage
Because guild associations are rare, this value should be presumed none if blank.
  • God association: drop-down menu with the following options:
none, Chadatru, Rutilor, Botolf, Damaris, Phelim, Dergati, Eluned, Lemicus, Drogor, Everild, Kuniyo, Trothfang, Faenella, Murrula, Idon, Glythtide, Saemaus, Be'ort, Hav'roth, Peri'el, Ushnish, Hodierna, Berengaria, Asketi, Kertigen, Divyaush, Zachriedek, Meraud, Firulf, Kerenhappuch, Tamsine, Albreda, Harawep, Truffenyi, Alamhif, Huldah, Urrem'tier, Eylhaar, Aldauth, Rakash god(s), Prydaen god(s), Alaudian/Gorbesh god(s), Gnomish god(s), or other
Because god associations are rare, this value should be presumed none if blank.

I would adapt the Manual of Style standards for items for use with materials.

Thanks! --ISHARON (talk) 21:58, 26 September 2017 (CDT)

So I thought I was making up the BONE item pages the same as how you'd made up the METAL item pages, but now I see you're starting to do re-directs on them to other page names. First off, sorry! Guess I should have just done one and gotten you to look it over first. So, with that in mind, do you want to go ahead and do the first leather item up (right now, looks like Antelope skin), so I have a template to do the other leather items that way too so that you won't have to go back and fiddle them later? Not trying to make more work for you...:) --Kythryn 14:51, 15 November 2013 (UTC)

Actually, I'm still testing it, trying to find the way that makes the most sense. Metals and stones are fairly simple, as they always are obvious what they are. Skin and bones isn't always quite so straightforward. I list them in stack form for a couple reasons:
  1. So people can easily match what's in their pack to crafting stats.
  2. Because some skin/bones we can't actually attribute to a specific creature yet or come from multiple creatures.
  3. Because some skin/bones is very oddly named.
  4. Because some similarly named items might end up being very different (Snow Goblin bones might end up different than Elven Pixie Forest and Plains Goblin bones) and so having a Goblin Bone page could cause issues.
That being said, this is a wiki and not my personal little fiefdom, so if you think you have a better way to do it, PLEASE give it a shot. I watch all the changes on the site (or at least try), so even if I disagree and change it, some part of your idea may end up being far better. -Moderator Caraamon Makdasi(talk) 19:01, 15 November 2013 (UTC)
You may not claim the title, but we all know: You're king of the Elanthipedia Kingdom...:).
So, on the stack vs. no-stack thing, I see where you're coming from. But, on the flip side of that, if you're looking to match what is in a pack, why not lumium shard or silk cloth or onyx rock? I mean, the only thing you can (currently) pick up from it's name is a prepared healing herb (ie. crushed belradi moss becomes crushed belradi), everything else you see as a "cloth" or an "ingot" or whatever. (not trying to be difficult here, but seems like the other materials already have their "qualifier" stripped off, so why not with Bone & Leather too).
And, we do already have Goblin Bone and Pale Goblin Bone (thanks to Antendren checking a snow goblin question I had) so I do suspect that if the GM's release something from 2 similar creatures, they will give it a separate name. Hopefully. Probably. Maybe.
At the end of the day, I don't really care how we proceed with this, I'm happy to help populate everything. --Kythryn 00:55, 16 November 2013 (UTC)
And because I'm just itching to do something with this tonight it seems, I have been playing around with Caracal-pelt Leather, including the base pelt and made a test table under the COMMON LEATHER section on the Crafting Materials page. Let me know what you think, make changes, etc. Thanks! --Kythryn 03:32, 16 November 2013 (UTC)
Perfect! -Moderator Caraamon Makdasi(talk) 06:07, 16 November 2013 (UTC)
ugh, sorry I didn't get all those leather crafting supplies finished up yet but I did guilt Anuind into getting me samples of all the remaining common leather skins and have them tanned. So, I am (hoping!) to finish that up this coming weekend. That being said, I'd posted on the forums, and will add this to the "crafting feedback" page too, but since there are currently 2 common skins that turn into "some azure-scale leather", each with different stats, should I go ahead and make "some azure-scale leather (1)" and "some azure-scale leather (2)", and a master "disambig" page like this link for both?

Works for me. -Moderator Caraamon Makdasi(talk) 12:57, 11 December 2013 (UTC)
Ugh, looks like some red-links are still on the crafting materials page from the server transfer. Also, there are some naming things going on when you look at the Crafting Materials#Rare Leather, sometimes it is an item other times it is just a page. I don't think I'll be re-visiting this in the near future, however if you want to let me know the page naming standard you want for things, if it hasn't been done by the time I motivate, I'll be happy to go through and standardize and follow-up on the red-links. --Kythryn 15:33, 25 January 2015 (CST)

Hib Barbarian shop

Heya! I'm updating some of the Hib stuff, and in the Barbarian guild, there is a door that looks like is Barb-only and it looks to be a shop.

>look door
Polished into the brushed bronze of the door are letters that spell out, "Kvaren's".
It is open.
>go doo
A large hand reaches out from behind the curtain and blocks your entrance. A burly guard mutters to you, "Just where, do you think yer goin? This shop is fer members of the Guild only."

I don't know how often you get out of Crossing, but if you're ever out this way, or you know a Barb in the area, might have them pop over and document the stuff? From the street, go boulder, go door, go grey arch, east, SE, east. That puts you in the room to GO DOOR to the shop. --Kythryn 16:06, 31 January 2015 (CST)

Don't know if this has been answered yet but as I'm in Hibarnhvidor I decided to check this out. Here is the room inside the door and contents of shop. --Rhadyn 22 January 2016

[Elding Gwilt, Kvaren's] There is little space to move about in this cramped shop. The bronze door opens inward, guiding customers straight to a display counter, while not making maneuvering any easier. To the left of the the counter, a number of axes have been placed on display on a rack. Adding to the clutter of the establishment, a small shelf hangs above a stout table, each showing off their own wares.

On the small shelf you see a dented flask, a leather flask, a hammered brass flask, an engraved flask and a wooden flask.

On the stout table you see a bronze paintstick, a cobalt blue paintstick, a leaf-green paintstick, a note, a blood-red paintstick, a purple paintstick, a gold paintstick, a maroon paintstick and a black paintstick.

I have tried sfhunter.txt, odt, and docx. I uploaded a new version in November and have made some fixes I need to get uploaded.

When you can please take a look.

I'm having this problem with image files too, FWIW. It's saying the MIME type is wrong but I've checked the headers and they seem to be totally fine. Tried this with both PNGs and JPGs. -- Thayet (talk) 17:00, 7 December 2015 (CST)

Adding TOC to player template card

Hey Caraamon! Having a Table of Contents and a Player Template Card on the same page was bugging me, so I wanted to take a shot at combining the two. See it in action on Uzmam's page. Absolon also helped out by making it a y/n toggle. I also took the left hand padding from the TOC, changed it into a margin, and adding it to the player template as a whole, giving some space between the main body copy and the player template card.

If you like how it works (and if it doesn't break anything!), we can flow it into the default templates for PCs and NPCs. Maybe even shops, who knows! --TEVESHSZAT (talk) 22:33, 13 January 2016 (CST)

Title redirect / caching issue?

Ok I came across a weird issue in regards to titles. Take the title "Shadowmancer" for example. If you go to the Title:Shadowmancer title page everything is right. If you click on the discussion tab in Title:Shadowmancer or directly go to Shadowmancer which redirects to Title:Shadowmancer you see some old cached version of the page (which you can't edit, when you try to you edit the current version, not this cached version). Now oddly if while on that bad cached page, you click the "(Redirected from Shadowmancer)" link, it takes you back to Shadowmancer, and then when you manually click the redirect link, it takes you to the correct Title:Shadowmancer.

-SYDNEE (talk) 14:20, 13 February 2016 (CST)

Unfortunately, that's an odd bug that is not something we can fix. I'm not sure exactly what causes it, but we have a bunch of similar bugs having to do with missing discussion pages.
To deitalicize a requirement, put "newreq=y" somewhere in the requirement. -CARAAMON (talk) 00:58, 15 February 2016 (CST)

Retiring

Hey Caraamon, feel free to demote my account's editing rights. I have left DragonRealms and my account deactivates tomorrow, so I will not be active on the wiki any more.--ABSOLON (talk) 16:26, 28 September 2016 (CDT)

grammar issue with juggling items

"This item is trains a skill with its use." is what they say right now, I'd change it myself but not sure how/where. Should be something like 'Trains perception with use.' or if its generic with other skill building items 'Trains a skill with its use.' --Legeres (talk) 17:14, 14 November 2016 (CST)

It is shared with several other tags. And right now with things as unstable as they are, I'd rather not edit a template that is used by so many pages. -CARAAMON (talk) 22:01, 17 November 2016 (CST)

Character Page not showing up in categories, Unable to create User Page

I hope this is the right place to post this.

I created a page for my character Enalen a couple days ago.

Unfortunately, category pages take a while to populate. If the recent Chris' Mass shop category page is any indication, this should happen automatically within a week. By the way, please only use the actual race name (for example, Elf), not clans, in the race field. I added a category at the bottom to categorize your page as a player River Elf. --ISHARON (talk) 18:13, 7 January 2017 (CST)

On top of those two things, I'm unable to create my own user page. When I click my Username and click create, I am sent to a blank page with nothing on it. The create page shows up fine when clicking any other red link though. Are these bugs? Or are they some of the functions that were broken by the update mentioned? -- DOOMKITTY (talk) 05:42, 3 January 2017 (CST)

This is a bug. I will report it to staff. --ISHARON (talk) 18:13, 7 January 2017 (CST)
