Description

Expanding and contracting, the tortured soul is hard to make out. Basically humanoid in form in shape its body twists and shudders as if in excruciating pain. At times it takes on some solidity and the vague form of a person in torment can be seen. While its body may be nothing but a twisted mass of essence, its teeth and claws look real enough, willing and able to rend your soul from your body!

There are two areas where Tortured Souls are present. The area of Dunshade Manor contains the base creature, whose stats and skill cap are on this page.

The second area containing Tortured Souls is in the catacombs under Misenseor Abbey. The Tortured Souls at the Abbey are flex creatures. There are often characters in other parts of the catacombs hunting creatures like the Snaer Hawfa, which start training around 350. The Tortured Souls at the Abbey when I last visited appraised much higher than the Crypt Fiends (100-140).

Equipment/Loot

Tortured souls very rarely drop smoky soulstones, which can be used by paladins to check their soul state.

Hard cap (Dunshade Manor only): Will teach defenses until 53 ranks.
