The Theory of Prophecy through Stillness
Uelea quietly says, "I have been away from the goings-on, and from my seclusion, I had not heard the resolution of the group prediction." You say, "Most know that our group, a splinter sect of Moon Mages, traveled deep within the Astral Plane, however, few know the extent of the precautions we took and fewer still know of our purpose or the secrets we uncovered.”

You say, "Our goal was to gain a larger view of the Web of Fate by performing a ritual group prediction to open a large window into the Plane of Probability. We wished to look deep into the past, to trace the strands of Fate back to the Obelisk builders and learn more of the great obelisks they created so long ago, which are still in use today.”

You say, “While most believe that we haphazardly undertook this expedition, this could not be further from the truth. We traveled to the Pillar of Convergence deep within the Microcosm because this would bring us as close as possible to the power of Grazhir, but also because it is equidistant from all shards. Meaning, we were the furthest we could be from any access point to Elanthia and the Plane of Abiding.”

You say, “We met at the Pillar of Convergence as a safety measure. If something crossed through our window into the Astral Plane, those creatures would be as far as possible from Elanthia. In the event catastrophe occurred, we hoped to contain those creatures within the Astral Plane. We thought this may be possible because any planar creatures would have to find their way through the shifting chaos within the Astral Plane and survive the lunar mana within the Plane that burns those who come in contact with it.”

You say, “While we unleashed a planar invasion that killed many and ultimately ended in Harawep repairing the Web of Fate, we learned many things from our expedition. Most of which I may speak about.”

You say, “As an initial matter, when Harawep appeared and began to correct the damages we made to the Web of Fate, Harawep did something interesting. She mended the Web of Fate by weaving Webs made of Shadow. This likely points to two possibilities. First, that the Web of Fate has always been corrupted with shadows to some unknown extent or, second, that shadows were used to repair the Web of Fate because shadows are a sort of temporal distortion. The latter would lend some support to The Theory of Temporal Shadows.”

You say, “However, even after Harawep apparently used shadows to repair the Web of Fate, Kssarh told me that damage yet remained. He said that what we had done had caused the Web of Fate to become tangled and demanded that it be mended.”

You say, "Lastly, when we focused our mental energies into the past, we saw a vacuum. An impenetrable nothingness. Most who have heard of our discovery of the vacuum take it as an indication that our efforts had failed. But I believe the discovery of the vacuum indicates something else. You see, some have speculated that the shattering of Grazhir caused a halting of time's progression. We could not see further back because we are stuck in this temporal distortion. My guess is that the vacuum is either a halting of time or time stretched in an eternal loop. I do not know for certain.”

Uelea blinks at you.

Uelea hesitantly asks, "So you're thinking that this... we could be on a looping thread, separate from the Web?"

You say, "That is one possibility."

Uelea quietly asks, "And the other possibilities?"

You say, "It is possible that all that we see and all that we are doing is literally between the blink of an eye...and that that halting of time is what allows us to see more accurately the Web of Fate for we are seeing it in a sense of stillness...a stillness of endless possibility...but a stillness nonetheless."

Uelea quietly asks, "So usually time would be passing much faster in totality, and we might not normally be able to see the Web with such clarity?"

You say, "Precisely. It is much easier to see the flapping of a humming birds' wings if it is frozen in a moment in time."

Uelea quietly says, "That is an interesting thought."

You say, "I was saddened when no one would listen to me about these discoveries. Everyone was much too upset about the Planar invasion of the Crossings."

You say, “They chose to closely examine only one strand of the Web of Fate instead of viewing the entire tapestry. Perhaps someday that will change.”
