STUDY the sun to memorize its sigil for Enchanting.

Peering at the sun through a telescope used to injure your eyes, but this is no longer true.
Studying the sun when it's bright is considerably harder. Cloud cover, the Tezirah's Veil spell, dawn and dusk are suspected to make it easier.
