  • Speculate Defense, Speculate Finesse, and Speculate Paranoia were made obsolete with the release of Trader Magic on December 25, 2017. See SPECULATE for the current abilities.

The SPECULATE command is used to activate a variety of Trader abilities.

To learn from Guildleader use this syntax: ASK (GUILDLEADER) ABOUT SKILL

Speculate Paranoia

  • Earned automatically at 5th circle
  • Perception bonus.
  • Bonus grows through 150th circle


Example Messaging:
You begin to feel slightly outside of yourself as you adopt a forced paranoia. You tell yourself that everyone is out to get you.
You are already about as paranoid as anyone could hope to be! You're pretty sure you can keep this hyper-sensitivity up for roughly 2 roisaen.

Speculate Finesse

  • Learned from Guildleader Willowbrook in Riverhaven at 8th circle
  • +10 Charisma Bonus (+10% of base, rounded down)
  • Bonus does not apply to Contract Trading


Example Messaging:
You focus yourself on presenting your best appearance, and feel your confidence grow as you realize you are able to act with greater finesse.
You feel your concentration on your finesse slip away.
You can't seem to concentrate on that right now.
But you aren't focussing on putting your best foot forward.

Speculate Coin

  • Learned from Guildleader Kworlin in Muspar'i at 12th circle (ask kworlin about skill)
  • Stun ability


Syntax and Messaging:

You snap a <metal> coin at <person>!
Whiff! The <metal> coin sails by <person> and is lost.
<Trader> snaps a <metal> coin at you!
You duck out of the way of the speeding <metal> coin!
<Trader> snaps a gold coin at <person>!
<Person> ducks out of the way!
You snap a <metal> coin at <person>!
A direct hit! The <metal> coin bounces away and is lost.
<Person> is stunned!
<Trader> snaps a <metal> coin at you!
The <metal> coin smacks you dead-on! The <metal> coin bounces away and is lost.
You are stunned!
<Trader> snaps a <metal> coin at <person>!
The <metal> coin smacks <person> dead-on! The <metal> coin bounces away and is lost.
<person> is stunned!
Moving like the stealthy assassin you are, you utilize your every advantage by snapping your <metal> coin from hiding!

  • +10 Evasion bonus.

  • Learned from Guildleader Imaar in Ratha at 45th circle
  • Market table ability.
