Necro hunting in Dirge with Inquisiters Sinstra and Khurek and Ventuul (long log · on 2/3/2010 6:02:22 PM 4767
Cut out a lot of spelling up , undead killing including hafwa, tortured souls, plague wraiths, shades, death spirits. My whisper at the end to ask about whether the shard had been repaired. Traveling, room looks once seen once, people randomly going by etc

[Dirge, Gibbet Hill] Here, at the base of a bare stone hill, a ruined cemetery sprawls in untidy heaps. Bones and stones mingle together and grinning skulls perch on marble slabs, leering at you grimly. The remains of the town cemetery it seems, ruined and scattered, holy ground no longer once fire and pain came to dwell. Above the unliving scene, the stark white hill glowers, keeping its own secrets. You also see a dented copper strongbox, a blue Moongate, a blue moonbeam, a ghoul which appears dead, some bronze coins, some copper coins, some bronze coins, some copper coins, a dark gold ironwood buckler embossed with a snarling silver tiger, a scimitar, a rotting pine casket, some bronze coins, some copper coins, some bronze coins, some copper coins, a jadice flower, a jadice flower, some bronze coins, some copper coins, a plain driftwood box, some bronze coins, some copper coins, a misshaped mahogany skippet, some silver coins, some bronze coins, some copper coins, a tiny green aquamarine, some bronze coins, some bronze coins, some copper coins, a fiery rhodonite runestone, a bronze coin, a bronze coin, a white-tailed leopard that is sitting, a small pink sapphire, a tiny mint green tsavorite, some bronze coins, some copper coins, a Famous Faces Lanival card, some bronze coins, some copper coins, a bronze coin, some bronze coins, some bronze coins, some bronze coins, some copper coins, some bronze coins, some copper coins, a slender tip bolt, a medium moss-green bloodstone, some slender tip bolts, an ancient crypt and some junk.

Also here: Prize Fighter Kystrk, Temple Inquisitress Sinstra, Kaedan, Temple Guard Ventuul, the body of Bellabell who is lying down, Inquisitor Cerval who is emanating a malevolent holy aura, Gardener Diliben, Linessa, Deadly Silvwyn, the body of Charmer Mystylaine who is lying down, Temple Inquisitor Khurek. Obvious paths: southeast.

The substance of Mystylaine's body shimmers, as if covered by a veil of crystal tears. A moment later she fades away, leaving nothing but empty air where her body had once lain.

The earth around Bellabell's body seems to awaken, opening up and curling around her, pulling the lifeless form downward, covering her until all that is left is a slowly fading gravesite.

You notice a white-tailed leopard sniff at a ghoul.

You see Temple Inquisitress Sinstra, an Elothean Cleric. Sinstra has a square-jawed face with frown lines around her mouth, tilted almond-shaped amber eyes and a straight, angular nose. She has cropped red-streaked white hair, with translucent skin and an emaciated figure. She is in her prime for an Elothean.

She has a severely swollen and shattered left leg which appears completely useless compounded by a broken left leg with gaping holes. She is bleeding with widespread discoloration and rigidity in the left leg.

She is wearing a thin silver circlet etched with flying red vultures, a faceted ruby scorpion suspended from a black cord necklace, a black nightsilk backpack, a nightmare-black Elothean silk robe cinched with a dark red sash, a dark steel armband engraved with the image of a red spiral, a dark steel bracelet carved with stylized flying vultures, an albredine crystal ring and some fitted shadowy black sandals with detailed straps.

Kystrk gestures. Kystrk utters a few sharp words in an arcane tongue. A blue Moongate collapses in on itself.

You see Temple Inquisitor Khurek, a Gor'Tog Cleric. Khurek has ale-brown eyes. He has dusky olive skin and a thin build. He is venerable for a Gor'Tog. He has a tattoo of a fist of dark clouds holding a sword made of lightning on his neck.

He has a severely swollen and deeply bruised left arm with odd protrusions under the skin, minor swelling and bruising in the chest area.

He is bleeding with widespread discoloration in the left arm and slightly from the left arm.

He is holding a dinged lochaber axe in his right hand. He is wearing a black silken cowl, a glossy purple-black obsidian vulture symbol, a jadeite gwethdesuan, a kyanite gwethdesuan, a belted kidskin baldric tooled with sinuous maiden's tress vines, a sturdy leather pack, a mottled dark grey robe of steelsilk embroidered across the back with a large red spiral, a dark stained target shield and a pair of dusty basilisk-hide boots. Khurek taps a finger softly against his vulture symbol, gazing wistfully at the figure of the vulture as if hoping for divine guidance. Kystrk seems to be concentrating intently on something. Ventuul says to you, "Nido'a." Kystrk seems to be concentrating intently on something.

You ask Ventuul in Ilithic, "Hello, necro hunt?"

Khurek asks you, "Don't I remember you from Shard?"

Cerval seems to be concentrating intently on something.

You ask Ventuul, "Hello, necro hunt?"

Ventuul says, "Yes, we are purging Necromancers." Ventuul says, "This crypt is infested."

Kystrk says, "Lets blow it up."

Cerval gingerly rests both hands on an ancient crypt and closes his eyes in concentration.

Sinstra says, "This is where all those new necromancers are coming from."

You say to Khurek, "Possibly." Sinstra points at an ancient crypt.

Also here: Prize Fighter Kystrk who is in a crazed black cage, Temple Inquisitress Sinstra, Kaedan, Temple Guard Ventuul, Inquisitor Cerval who is emanating a malevolent holy aura, Gardener Diliben, Linessa, Deadly Silvwyn, Temple Inquisitor Khurek. Obvious paths: southeast.

You see nothing unusual.

There is nothing in there.

Cerval seems to be concentrating intently on something. You notice as a white-tailed leopard gazes around with large yellow eyes.

Diliben says, "I thought it looked suspicious."

The malevolent, dark aura of divinity slowly wanes from about Cerval. He suddenly exudes a malevolent, dark aura of divinity.

Diliben nods to Sinstra.

A shimmering mirror of shadows appears momentarily in the air above, briefly revealing Usiel's face.

You notice as a white-tailed leopard snarls for a moment, then seems to calm down.

Sinstra says, "Get it open." Cerval holds a strand of gleaming cambrinth prayer beads with a gold-inlaid platinum clasp in both hands and closes his eyes in concentration. Sinstra says, "All of you." Ventuul nods.

You say, "Unfortunate there were a few accidents."

Diliben just tried to kick the crypt! Linessa begins to push at the crypt's door, and the old stone starts to give way. The jawless skulls orbiting Cerval's head gleam as their surfaces catch the light and reflect it at varying angles.

Linessa begins to push at the crypt's door, and the old stone starts to give way. You knock upon an ancient crypt. Kaedan begins to push at the crypt's door, and the old stone starts to give way. Silvwyn begins to push at the crypt's door, and the old stone starts to give way. Kystrk begins to push at the crypt's door, and the old stone starts to give way. Linessa begins to push at the crypt's door, and the old stone starts to give way. Cerval gestures.

Linessa begins to push at the crypt's door, and the old stone starts to give way.

You begin to push at the crypt's door, and the old stone starts to give way. Silvwyn begins to push at the crypt's door, and the old stone starts to give way. Khurek ponders. Ventuul begins to push at the crypt's door, and the old stone starts to give way. Cerval begins to push at the crypt's door, and the old stone starts to give way. Linessa begins to push at the crypt's door, and the old stone starts to give way.

Kystrk pulls his hand back and punches heavily at the crypt door, sending splinters of crumbling stone in every direction!

You begin to push at the crypt's door, and the old stone starts to give way.

Under the toll, the stone crumbles and gives away completely.

Silvwyn nibbles her lip thoughtfully.

This slab of marble has been cracked down the center, making a gap just barely large enough to pass through.

Khurek harshly growls a few foreboding words as a halo of light flickers around his head. Ventuul searches around for a moment.

Ventuul is already following Khurek!

You join Khurek's group.

Diliben asks, "Anyone have a torch?"

Sinstra says, "It is open. I do not know what waits for us within, but be on your guard."

Linessa puts her torch in her oilcloth rucksack.

Sinstra joins Khurek's group.

Linessa gets a blackened torch from inside her oilcloth rucksack.

Khurek says, "No need for a torch."

A glowing aura surrounds Cerval.

Khurek gives Cerval a slight nod.

You hear Usiel's loud thoughts in your head saying, "Didn't your government remove Khurek? Curious why you would be tagging around like a puppy"

Ventuul moves over to guard Sinstra.

Khurek glances at Sinstra.

Bellabell slides a cambrinth ring onto her finger. Sinstra says to Khurek, "I am fine."

Ventuul asks, "Is everyone prepared?"

You ask, "Anyone for a bit of help with edged ?"

Sinstra glances at you.

You say, "Edged weapons."

Diliben says, "My blade is sharp enough." Diliben nods to you.

You say, "I mean to improve your skill with it."

Sinstra says, "Now is not the to try to teach a class."

You say, "Not a class."

Ventuul says, "Let us continue on."

You say, "A spell." Temple Inquisitor Khurek's group goes through the crypt door.

[Ancient Crypt] Bathed in narrow channels of light seeping through several cracks in the crypt's walls, the interior of the chamber appears to have remained unchanged for countless ages. Armor-clad skeletons rest within the numerous rows of small burial niches lining the cracked floor, each desiccated corpse covered in a tent of spider webs. A black marble burial vault rests in the center of the chamber, the subdued lighting playing across its polished surface. You also see the crypt wall and a cracked granite slab. Also here: Temple Inquisitress Sinstra, Kaedan, Temple Guard Ventuul, Inquisitor Cerval who is emanating a malevolent holy aura, Gardener Diliben, Linessa, Deadly Silvwyn, Temple Inquisitor Khurek.

A tortured soul appears from nowhere, forming in midair!

Khurek gestures. A whirlwind of eerie purple and black mist rises up around Khurek.

Kystrk comes out of hiding. Diliben flails his arms about.

The whirlwind of eerie purple and black mist pulses hard before expanding in size, lashing out at everything within reach!

Khurek says, "Poor, tortured things." [Ancient Crypt] Bathed in narrow channels of light seeping through several cracks in the crypt's walls, the interior of the chamber appears to have remained unchanged for countless ages. Armor-clad skeletons rest within the numerous rows of small burial niches lining the cracked floor, each desiccated corpse covered in a tent of spider webs. Obvious exits: none. Cerval joins Khurek's group. Diliben squints. >l behind slab A hint of light can be seen from behind the granite slab. >op slab You can't do that. Sinstra points at the crypt wall. Ventuul glances at the crypt wall.

You see nothing unusual. Ventuul pushes at the crypt wall, which seems to give just a little underneath his weight. Cerval pushes at the crypt wall, which seems to give just a little underneath his weight. Diliben pushes at the crypt wall, which seems to give just a little underneath his weight. Sinstra says, "Break through it."

Cerval pulls his hand back and punches heavily at the wall, sending a shower of broken mortar over the room!

The wall collapses under the strain, turning into a pile of rubble!

Khurek leans on his axe.

Sinstra gestures at a vengeful shade. A mass of translucent ether erupts from thin air, coalescing into the spectral form of a hazy grey unicorn which gallops rapidly toward a vengeful shade. The unicorn's ivory horn bursts with a flare of holy light. Sweeping its spiraled horn like the spear of Trothfang, the grey unicorn rears up gracefully and slams down on the vengeful shade. The horn brutally breaks vertebra and rib cage alike amidst a discordant cadence of snapping tones, sending shards of bleached bone twirling through the air! A vengeful shade collapses in a heap of rotten, empty clothing.

The unicorn tosses its ethereal silken mane about as it tramples the carcass under its hooves before fading.

A snaer hafwa wails and whistles, "Masinyo!" You involuntarily shiver as you feel something pulling on your spirit as the hafwa chants!

The hafwa crackles with joy!

You ask, "Someone have a bless?"

[Ancient Crypt] Khurek searches around for a moment.

Armor-clad skeletons rest within the numerous rows of small burial niches lining the cracked floor, each desiccated corpse covered in a tent of spider webs. A black marble burial vault rests in the center of the chamber, the subdued lighting playing across its polished surface. You also see a tiny mint green chrysoprase, some silver coins, some bronze coins, some copper coins, some slender tip bolts, a gold coin, a silver coin, some bronze coins, some copper coins, a deeply gouged wooden strongbox, some slender tip bolts, a crossbow crafted from fine Katamba-black wood that has been carved to suggest the shapes of long bones, a huge mint green morganite and a cracked granite slab. Also here: Temple Inquisitress Sinstra, Inquisitor Cerval who is emanating a malevolent holy aura, Prize Fighter Kystrk who is in a crazed black cage, Kaedan, Temple Guard Ventuul, Gardener Diliben, Linessa, Deadly Silvwyn, Temple Inquisitor Khurek.

Ventuul says, "The fallen here have played with many forms of perversion."

Sinstra says, "Indeed."

Your deep indigo iltesh passes through the snaer hafwa with no effect!

Your deep indigo iltesh passes through the snaer hafwa with no effect!

Kystrk asks, "Someone bless me?"

You ask, "Anyone able to bless a weapon please?"

The unicorn tosses its ethereal silken mane about as it tramples the carcass under its hooves before fading.

Khurek gestures. A whirlwind of eerie purple and black mist rises up around Khurek.

Khurek harshly growls a few foreboding words as a halo of light flickers around his head.

The whirlwind of eerie purple and black mist becomes more violent, expanding outward from Khurek to missile range. A misty purple tendril lances through a vengeful shade's chest. A vengeful shade collapses in a heap of rotten, empty clothing. A misty purple tendril lances through a vengeful shade's chest. A vengeful shade collapses in a heap of rotten, empty clothing.

The whirlwind of eerie purple and black mist suddenly dissipates as quickly as it formed. A vengeful shade decays away. Khurek gestures at you. A deep indigo glow surrounds a deep indigo iltesh.

Sinstra says, "Remain vigilent. I believe we will encounter worse."

Khurek says to Cerval, "Presumably the angered spirits of all those corpses they have been abusing here." A tortured soul sighs with relief and fades away. Cerval nods to Khurek. Diliben blanches.

Sinstra gives Khurek a slight nod.

Your mind hears Lysorla thinking, "thanks!" Khurek says, "Aldauth is pleased to reclaim them."

Diliben says, "Rather distasteful."

Khurek mutters a quick prayer.

The air suddenly swirls with shadows as two sanguine eyes materialize out of thin air to coalesce into the form of a pale grey death spirit! Cerval stops advancing since a pale grey death spirit is dead. The grey death spirit begins to advance on Silvwyn. The grey death spirit begins to advance on Linessa. Silvwyn begins to advance on a pale grey death spirit. Cerval bends over the spirit's corpse briefly. A tortured soul casts about suspiciously.

Cerval says, "They seem to be getting tougher."

Ventuul says, "The Hafwa can be very tough, if they unleash their power upon you."

Cerval says, "Extremely."

[Ancient Crypt, Dark Passage] Wrapped in a pressing cloak of darkness, the winding stone passage is dimly lit by a single wrought iron lantern. Several black marble statues stand silently in the shadows, a mire of churning reddish-green mist swirling about their feet. Set into the southern wall is an arched bone door hung with a lupine skull, its surface discolored and scarred. You also see some silver coins, some bronze coins, some copper coins, some silver coins, some bronze coins, some copper coins, some silver coins, some bronze coins, a misshaped driftwood trunk, a large bronze nugget, some silver coins, some bronze coins, some copper coins, a medium lapis lazuli, some silver coins, some bronze coins, a large bronze nugget, some silver coins, some bronze coins, some copper coins, a pale grey death spirit which appears dead, a tortured soul which appears dead, a tortured soul which appears dead and some junk. Also here: Temple Inquisitress Sinstra, Temple Guard Ventuul, Gardener Diliben, Linessa, Deadly Silvwyn, Kaedan, Inquisitor Cerval who is emanating a malevolent holy aura, Temple Inquisitor Khurek. Obvious exits: west.

Temple Inquisitor Khurek's group went through an arched bone door.

[Ancient Crypt, Den of Shadows] Unnatural darkness wraps the chamber with merciless tenure, seeming to feed upon light with a relentless hunger. A pillar of pristine white light encircles a skeletal claw-footed meeting table surrounded with several carved wooden chairs. Thousands of shuddering candles line the walls of the chamber, their white flames shifting against the sea of black. You also see an arched bone door. Also here: Gardener Diliben, Linessa, Deadly Silvwyn, Kaedan, Temple Inquisitress Sinstra, Inquisitor Cerval who is emanating a malevolent holy aura, Temple Inquisitor Khurek.

Obvious exits: south. Temple Guard Ventuul came through an arched bone door. Ventuul joins Khurek's group. Temple Inquisitor Khurek's group just went south. [Ancient Crypt, Dark Passage]

The mingled aroma of damp earth and ozone hang heavy upon the stagnant air, leaving a lingering musk. Two skeletal sentries flank a narrow bone door set into the eastern wall, keeping a careful watch over any who pass. A deep purple carpet edged with night-black tassels follows the twisting contours of the passage, the rug's surface heavily embroidered with a tangle of serpentine whorls. Also here: Gardener Diliben, Linessa, Deadly Silvwyn, Kaedan, Temple Inquisitress Sinstra, Inquisitor Cerval who is emanating a malevolent holy aura, Temple Guard Ventuul, Temple Inquisitor Khurek. Obvious exits: north.

Cerval says, "Phelim has sent his aid."

- Cerval gestures at a snaer hafwa. A mass of deep ebon ether erupts from thin air, coalescing into the spectral form of a shadowy black unicorn which gallops rapidly toward a snaer hafwa. The unicorn's obsidian horn bursts with a flare of holy light. The slender, glowing horn of the black unicorn slashes the snaer hafwa's chest in passing, shearing the misty flesh like a knife through butter. Khurek strikes his heel against the ground. Geysers of fiery black magma erupt from the floor, which seems miraculously undamaged.

Sinstra says, "Be careful."

The unicorn's eyes blaze like unearthly embers as it tramples the carcass under its hooves before fading.

The whirlwind of eerie purple and black mist pulses hard before expanding in size, lashing out at everything within reach!

A vile plague wraith bellows with untamed malice and erupts into a pillar of swirling emerald fire, leaving a pile of smoldering bones in its wake.

The whirlwind of eerie purple and black mist becomes more violent, expanding outward from Khurek to missile range. A misty purple tendril lances through a shadowy black death spirit's head.

The black death spirit twitches violently, then ceases movement. A misty purple tendril lances through a shadowy black death spirit's abdomen.

The black death spirit twitches violently, then ceases movement.

The air suddenly swirls with shadows as two sanguine eyes materialize out of thin air to coalesce into the form of a pale grey death spirit!

Ventuul says, "As usual, Inquisitor."

Sinstra says, "We did not strike with enough speed."

Temple Inquisitor Khurek's group went through a narrow bone door.

[Ancient Crypt, Dark Passage] Ancient tapestries depicting gruesome rituals are suspended from blood-red crystal columns protruding from the walls, each glassy rod glowing just slightly. Rows of iron lanterns cast flickering halos of light along the passage, sputtering and sending shadows over the walls. A rhythmic chant is barely audible from a distant source, echoing faintly off the stone. You also see a reinforced bone archway and a narrow bone door. Also here: Gardener Diliben, Linessa, Deadly Silvwyn, Prize Fighter Kystrk, Kaedan, Temple Inquisitress Sinstra, Inquisitor Cerval who is emanating a malevolent holy aura, Temple Guard Ventuul, Temple Inquisitor Khurek. Obvious exits: none.

Sinstra says, "However, I have gained information from those we captured that the true entrance is further in."

Sinstra says, "I see no need to fight them. We shall merely trap them in their lair and let them starve to death."

Khurek frowns tape

Diliben says, "How fitting."

Sinstra says, "Another wraith. Be cautious."

Cerval says, "Major Physical Protection is about to drop."

Cerval seems to be concentrating intently on something.

Cerval says, "As is sphere of protection."

Sinstra says, "A den of evil."

Diliben says, "I'm waiting for the death squirrels."

Ventuul says, "Vile creatures. Xerasyth uses them often."

Cerval says, "The plague wraiths are no small feat."

Cerval says, "There must be some powerful necromancers here."

Your mind hears Delgram thinking, "undead prydaen and rakash"

Cerval says, "They'll die like the rest."

Temple Inquisitor Khurek's group went through a reinforced bone archway.

[Ancient Crypt, Storage] A collection of weapons and armor rests in racks affixed to the walls of the chamber, the highly polished surfaces of the tools of war glinting in the dim candlelight. Twisted crystal display stands around the room contain curious items placed upon purple velvet pillows. Resting on a red crystal pedestal in the center of the room is an open flesh-bound tome, its numerous weathered pages covered in thin lettering. You also see a reinforced bone archway. Also here: Gardener Diliben, Linessa, Deadly Silvwyn, Prize Fighter Kystrk, Kaedan, Temple Inquisitress Sinstra who is emanating a malevolent holy aura, Inquisitor Cerval who is emanating a malevolent holy aura, Temple Guard Ventuul, Temple Inquisitor Khurek.

Sinstra narrows her eyes.

>l ped You see nothing unusual.

>l on ped On the crystal pedestal you see a flesh-bound tome.

Cerval scowls.

You shudder.

Cerval asks, "Can we burn the Tome somehow?"

>l tom

The text seems to be written in Ilithic. Though most of the writing has long worn away, you can still make out a few words here and there.

There seems to be something written on it.

>read tom

A flesh-bound tome reads:

Pele Aron Alor Aubirgo

Hul Paute Alto Garia

Piwe

Heni

The text is indecipherable from here.

Cerval says, "It is a blasphemy to be sure."

Khurek pokes his finger at a flesh-bound tome.

Sinstra says, "We will burn all of it. First we need to catch them before any of them escape."

Ventuul says, "Yes, it should be destroyed." Ventuul nods.

Kaedan gets a bottle of naphtha from inside his white sochi. Cerval says, "Hopefully this is the only way in and out."

Khurek praises Kaedan.

Sinstra says, "I believe it is." Kaedan offers Khurek a bottle of naphtha.

Khurek accepts Kaedan's bottle of naphtha.

Temple Inquisitor Khurek's group just went east.

[Ancient Crypt, Dark Passage] Granite stones arranged across the ground mirror the arched ceiling overhead in its highly polished surface. The whisper of a ghostly serenade is barely discernable, seeming to dance upon the air with an almost whimsical nature. Braziers filled with glowing red coals illuminate statuesque skeletons resting in shallow niches along the circular walls, which surround a towering black crystal gate inset into the eastern wall. Obvious exits: west.

Sinstra gives Kaedan a slight nod.

Kaedan sings each word of his song with unwavering resolve, a look of fierce conviction upon his face.

Cerval says, "I would hate to be forcing them out a rathole in the back, to escape Aldauth's judgement."

The pained wailing of incorporeal voices accompanies Cerval's spell preparations! With a slight jolt, you suddenly feel disconnected from the pack.

Kaedan says, "I have more."

Sinstra says, "Very good."

Sinstra says, "Indeed."

Silvwyn nods at Kaedan, obviously agreeing with his views.

A vile plague wraith whispers to you, "Your eyesss are ssshrouded to the sssecrets that lay within your grasssp. Sssubmit and allow me to pull back the concssealing veil that hidesss the truth."

The air suddenly swirls with shadows as two sanguine eyes materialize out of thin air to coalesce into the form of a shadowy black death spirit!

[Ancient Crypt, Crystal Archive] Surrounded by lavish decor, two high-backed leather chairs rest upon a faded tapestry rug set at the foot of a monstrous fireplace, silently basking in the yellow-orange flames roaring within its hearth. Numerous books line shelves along the walls, each one set with a softly glowing blood-red crystal upon it. Hanging on the eastern wall is a large tapestry depicting a bloody ritual. You also see a shadowy black death spirit, a shadowy black death spirit, a large clear crystal, a large cerise piece of amber, a pile of smoldering bones which appears dead, a large bronze bar, a small cerulean iolite, some waermodi stones, a tiny brown quartz, some silver coins, some bronze coins, some copper coins, an embroidery needle, an Immortal Huldah card, a small indigo amethyst, some silver coins, some bronze coins, some copper coins, a tiny taupe andalusite, a small cerise chalcedony, a mud-stained steel casket, some silver coins, some bronze coins, some copper coins, some silver coins, some bronze coins, some copper coins, some silver coins, some bronze coins, a tiny maroon chalcedony, a vile plague wraith, a black crystal gate and some junk. Obvious exits: none.

Khurek strikes his heel against the ground. Geysers of fiery black magma erupt from the floor, which seems miraculously undamaged.

A stream of liquid black fire washes over Sinstra's right leg, badly charring the flesh. Spectral embers and shadowy vapor swirl away from a shadowy black death spirit's left leg as it is incinerated by the black lava, leaving behind naught but a smoking stump. Blackened embers and flakes of ash swirl away from a vengeful shade's right leg as it is incinerated by the black lava, leaving behind naught but a smoking stump. A vengeful shade collapses in a heap of rotten, empty clothing. Blackened embers and flakes of ash swirl away from a vengeful shade's right leg as it is incinerated by the black lava, leaving behind naught but a smoking stump.

Veins of liquid fire spill across the ground with serpentine grace. Your sapphire blue leathers is slightly damaged. The reverberating sound around you seems to hinder the attack. Blackened embers and flakes of ash swirl away from your left leg as it is incinerated by the black lava, leaving behind naught but a smoking stump. You are lightly stunned! You fall screaming to the ground grasping your mangled left leg!

The misshapen germish'din's vertebrae are briefly exposed, burnt clean of rotting flesh by spectral flames, before disintegrating into ash. The head tumbles to the ground and splits open to spill rotting brains on the ground.

A thick puddle of greasy, black ooze forms as the misshapen germish'din's body falls apart at the stitches and disintegrates. A thick puddle of greasy, black ooze forms as the misshapen germish'din's body falls apart at the stitches and disintegrates.

Khurek exclaims to you, "Step aside from the lava!"

Khurek gestures.

A soft white glow bathes the area around Khurek. A soft white nimbus ebbs toward you, melding with your luminous aura.

Sinstra says, "The tapestry. While we have time. It's the entrance."

Also here: Temple Inquisitress Sinstra who is emanating a malevolent holy aura, Gardener Diliben, Linessa, Deadly Silvwyn, Prize Fighter Kystrk, Kaedan, Inquisitor Cerval who is emanating a malevolent holy aura, Temple Guard Ventuul, Temple Inquisitor Khurek. Obvious exits: none.

The tapestry depicts a man in heavy green robes and a black goatee. He feeds small animals to a horrendous monster while waves of reddish-green energy swirl around him. In his hands he holds a small lamb, while behind him in cages rest a goose, a small pig, a squirrel and a chicken. Tethered to a post nearby are several larger animals -- A horse, a deer, a sheep and a goat. All seem destined for the monster's gaping black maw, which peers out from amidst dozens of angry purple eyes. Cerval bends over the shade's corpse briefly.

Khurek says, "These Necromancers have apparently been living rather luxuriously."

Kystrk looked like he was about ready to punch the tapestry.

Diliben just tried to kick the tapestry!

Sinstra says, "Soak it with naphtha. I will light it."

Kaedan's song loses some of its force as he enters the next verse, though it still maintains a strident rhythm.

Cerval gets a vial of naphtha from inside his thigh bag.

Sinstra says, "Don't touch it. It's tainted with strong necromancy."

You say, "Alright this is rather embarrassing , I have no herbs with me."

Khurek splashes naphtha on a large tapestry, emptying the bottle.

Cerval puts his naphtha in his thigh bag. Cerval gets a gleaming metallic-red cinder beast with glittering onyx claws from inside his thigh bag.

You pace back and forth, smiling slightly to yourself at the refreshing familiarity of the area. Khurek splashes naphtha on a large tapestry, emptying the bottle. Ventuul's tail cautiously lifts into a kind of "U" shape.

You lower your head, close your eyes and begin breathing slowly as you channel a very small amount of your existing spirit health into reserve to be used as needed by nature itself.

Sinstra says, "It is." Khurek says, "Everything is."

You say, "External is fine."

You say, "I should have brought yelith."

Your attunement with nature dissolves. Kaedan slips seamlessly into the refrain of his enchante, the driving rhythm undiminished. >'cannot cradle in here either

You say, "Cannot cradle in here either."

Silvwyn gets a yelith root from inside her foraging bag.

Kystrk asks, "Anyone bring marshmallows?"

Diliben says, "It wouldn't be so bad if not for the monster. Kind of ruins it."

You hear a keening wail coming from the tapestry as it burns, as if a thousand angry spirits were crying out in unison.

The air suddenly swirls with shadows as two sanguine eyes materialize out of thin air to coalesce into the form of a shadowy black death spirit!

The air suddenly swirls with shadows as two sanguine eyes materialize out of thin air to coalesce into the form of a shadowy black death spirit! A shadowy black death spirit turns to face Kaedan. A shadowy black death spirit turns to face Kaedan. Khurek says, "I have a theory that necromancy makes one's skin extra oily. I don't know why else they would attract the purifying flame so much."

Khurek harshly growls a few foreboding words as a halo of light flickers around his head.

A vile plague wraith shouts, "Bow before the tempessst of death, and welcome your eternal unlife!"

A snaer hafwa melts away.

Khurek gestures at a vile plague wraith. A glimmering cloud of silver motes enwreathes it and dances along its skeletal limbs like a shower of miniature stars. The plague wraith is moderately stunned by the haze of Holy energy whorling around it.

A thin circle of eerie light enwreathes the plague wraith's wrist for a moment, pulsing with a seemingly benign glow. Moments later, the right hand bursts from its arm as a flood of purple and black light spews forth from its severed wrist.

You say, "I hope no one reports me to my guild for failing to be prepared with herbs."

> Cerval seems to be concentrating intently on something.

. Cerval asks, "Any change Venda'tuul?"

Khurek asks, "What happened?"

Kaedan says, "If anyone has expertise in first aid, I have a stump that could use a bandage."

With a final pop, the tapestry completely crumbles into little more than ash.

Kystrk says, "Go for it celitha."

You ask, "Lie down ?"

Khurek says to Sinstra, "Excellent work making that commoner talk."

Sinstra nods to Khurek.

Khurek casually observes the area. Kaedan lies down.

>tend kaedan left leg You work carefully at tending his wound. Doing your best, you are able to stop the bleeding.

>tend kaedan right leg You work carefully at tending his wound. Doing your best, you are able to stop the bleeding.

Kaedan whispers, "Thanks very much." Sinstra says, "He did not wish to, but the brand loosened his tongue."

Sinstra says, "We have trapped the necromancers further within."

The soothing notes of Kaedan's song have a subtle meditative effect on you, easing your body.

Ventuul says, "I imagine most try to hold their tongues, at first."

[Ancient Crypt, Crystal Archive]

Surrounded by lavish decor, two high-backed leather chairs rest upon a faded tapestry rug set at the foot of a monstrous fireplace, silently basking in the yellow-orange flames roaring within its hearth. Numerous books line shelves along the walls, each one set with a softly glowing blood-red crystal upon it. The eastern section of the wall is conspicuously bare, with a pile of charred cloth at the bottom of it. You also see a burned tapestry, a slender tip bolt, a crossbow bolt, a slender tip bolt, a small indigo amethyst and a black crystal gate.

Also here: Temple Guard Ventuul, Temple Inquisitress Sinstra, Gardener Diliben, Linessa, Deadly Silvwyn, Prize Fighter Kystrk, Kaedan, Inquisitor Cerval who is emanating a malevolent holy aura, Temple Inquisitor Khurek. Obvious exits: none. Diliben applauds.

Cerval says, "Praise Aldauth." Sinstra says, "Even if a few do get out, this will certainly put an end to them."

Faint images of several animals can be just barely made out in the charred pile of cloth.

Ventuul asks, "Shall we destroy the book as well?" Khurek says, "We didn't need the relic THAT much, after all."

Khurek makes an annoyed noise.

Sinstra gives Ventuul a slight nod.

Sinstra says, "Yes, let us destroy that book. It is written with nothing but evil."

Khurek says, "That ludicrous thing...where was it..."

Temple Inquisitor Khurek's group went through a black crystal gate.

Also here: Gardener Diliben, Linessa, Deadly Silvwyn, Prize Fighter Kystrk, Kaedan, Temple Inquisitress Sinstra, Inquisitor Cerval who is emanating a malevolent holy aura, Temple Guard Ventuul, Temple Inquisitor Khurek.

A faint trail of gleaming air follows in the wake of each of Cerval's jawless skulls as they circle his head, the only visible sign of their imbued magic. Temple Inquisitor Khurek's group just went west.

Also here: Gardener Diliben, Linessa, Deadly Silvwyn, Prize Fighter Kystrk, Kaedan, Temple Inquisitress Sinstra, Inquisitor Cerval who is emanating a malevolent holy aura, Temple Guard Ventuul, Temple Inquisitor Khurek. Obvious exits: east. A strident theme keeps Kaedan's enchante lively, skipping from note to note with the stern rapidity of a beating heart. The soothing notes of Kaedan's song have a subtle meditative effect on you, easing your body. Kaedan sheathes his bastard sword. Kaedan gets a small crystal bottle from inside his traveler's pack.

Kaedan puts his bottle in his traveler's pack. Kaedan gets a bottle of naphtha from inside his white sochi. Silvwyn secures her bastard sword to her morawen. It rattles against the engraved scimitar secured to her morawen, and she adjusts them.

Diliben gazes at a flesh-bound tome.

Sinstra says, "Wretched thing."

Sinstra says, "Pour the naptha on it. I will set it alight."

Diliben says to Sinstra, "Flesh colored. Not exactly anything I'd want in my library shelf."

Silvwyn says, "This whole place gives me the creeps.."

Khurek splashes naphtha on a flesh-bound tome, emptying the bottle.

Sinstra says, "It's not flesh-colored. It's flesh."

A collection of weapons and armor rests in racks affixed to the walls of the chamber, the highly polished surfaces of the tools of war glinting in the dim candlelight. Khurek says, "Ilithic. Probably some Bone Elf blasphemy."

Ventuul nods at Khurek, obviously agreeing with his views.

You frown.

Kystrk says, "Probably a discourse on the author's hatred for his parents." Kystrk says, "And a celebration of his individuality."

You nod to Kaedan.

Silvwyn says, "Ugh.."

On the crystal pedestal you see a burning tome.

Khurek taps his fingers on his lochaber axe.

Kaedan asks, "What should we do about the cup?"

Kaedan points at a crystal display stand. Sinstra glances at a crystal display stand.

Ventuul says, "Smash it." Diliben says, "I'd advise against using it for tea." Diliben nods. Sinstra gives a slight nod.

Although its surface is unadorned, the small cup seems to have been well cared for and protected. A bit of a dried brownish substance stains the bottom.

>l in cup There is nothing in there.

Cerval asks, "Silver is a bit tough to smash. Anyone have a large-ish hammer?"

Silvwyn says, "Kinda looks like they revere it. Pretty well taken care of, if not a bit..filthy inside."

You say, "I have a large quarterstaff."

You say, "It is replaceable though."

You get an atapwi from inside your icesilk backtube.

Khurek moves a dinged lochaber axe to his left hand. The melodic introduction of "Hodierna's Lilt" drifts from Kaedan's lips with delicate ease.

. Diliben reaches toward a plain silver cup, but stops before he touches it.

>smash cup with ata

>smash cup

Although its surface is unadorned, the small cup seems to have been well cared for and protected. A bit of a dried brownish substance stains the bottom. Khurek slings his axe over his shoulder.

Khurek gingerly rests both hands on a plain silver cup and closes his eyes in concentration.

You say, "I don't train it much though."

Ventuul glances at Khurek.

There is nothing on there.

Sinstra says, "A pity there were no necromancers here. We could have shipped them to the dungeon."

Sinstra says to Khurek, "Crush it."

Khurek shrugs.

Straining a little, Khurek closes his large fist around the silver cup, crushing it. He discards the lump.

Ventuul says to Khurek, "Impressive."

Sinstra says, "With the destruction of the tapestry, the undead have stopped as well."

Khurek says, "No prisoners."

Khurek frowns.

Sinstra says, "Very disappointing."

Temple Inquisitor Khurek's group went through a narrow bone door.

You also see some copper coins. Also here: Gardener Diliben, Linessa, Deadly Silvwyn, Prize Fighter Kystrk, Kaedan, Temple Inquisitress Sinstra, Inquisitor Cerval who is emanating a malevolent holy aura, Temple Guard Ventuul, Temple Inquisitor Khurek. Obvious exits: north.

Ventuul says, "Indeed."

Khurek asks Sinstra, "Did you see any guards on the way here?"

Temple Inquisitor Khurek's group went through a narrow bone door.

Sinstra says, "This should be sufficient. They dare not use this place again."

The sets of armor on the racks all appear to be made from plates of bone.

[Ancient Crypt, Den of Shadows]

Unnatural darkness wraps the chamber with merciless tenure, seeming to feed upon light with a relentless hunger. A pillar of pristine white light encircles a skeletal claw-footed meeting table surrounded with several carved wooden chairs. Thousands of shuddering candles line the walls of the chamber, their white flames shifting against the sea of black. You also see an arched bone door. Also here: Gardener Diliben, Linessa, Deadly Silvwyn, Prize Fighter Kystrk, Kaedan, Temple Inquisitress Sinstra, Inquisitor Cerval who is emanating a malevolent holy aura, Temple Guard Ventuul, Temple Inquisitor Khurek. Obvious exits: south.

Sinstra raises an eyebrow.

Sinstra asks, "Why are there cookies?"

On the bone table you see a tray of chocolate heart-shaped cookies and a small sign.

Khurek rolls his eyes.

A small sign reads:

"Congratulations, you've found the Necromancer Guild. You get a cookie! Now leave." Diliben sniffs at a heart-shaped cookie. Diliben shrugs. Silvwyn says, "Oh, and a lovely sign.." Sinstra says to Diliben, "I don't suggest eating that."

Diliben drops a heart-shaped cookie.

Kaedan says, "Even their sense of humor is perverted."

You say, "Who knows what they are made of."

Diliben says, "I wouldn't dream of it. No tea." Sinstra says, "It's likely tainted."

Ventuul says, "It seems these people take an amusement in their perversion."

You say, "Demented bakers." Sinstra frowns at Diliben. Diliben says, "I will bathe later."

Sinstra says to Diliben, "You need more favors."

. Diliben exclaims, "I do. Oh, today is my birthday!"

Khurek rubs his left arm.

You say, "Everyone needs more favors, perhaps we should all go get some."

Khurek says, "Ugh, filthy place infected my arm."

Kaedan gets an engraved platinum flask from inside his white sochi.

Khurek gets a small sign from atop a carved bone table.

Kaedan says to Diliben, "Happy birthday to you."

Sinstra says, "We will be keeping a close eye on it."

Kystrk utters a few sharp words in an arcane tongue. Khurek breaks the sign into splinters.

Sinstra says, "Let us leave this wretched place. We are finished here."

Khurek leans on his axe.

Diliben says, "And no tea."

Diliben grumbles.

Temple Inquisitor Khurek's group went behind a cracked granite slab.

Sinstra says, "You do not want to drink anything in there."

You say, "They probably drink absinthe."

You say, "The nasty kind."

Khurek says, "The gods have blessed us with a victory today. Thank you all."

Khurek smiles.

Ventuul's tail undulates passively just above the ground. Cerval curls his twitching fingers into claws, grating in an icy voice, "Blood...for...Aldauth..."

You notice a white-tailed leopard sniff at Diliben for a moment. Khurek says, "I'm sure the stragglers will find their way into the dungeon soon enough."

Silvwyn says, "Didn't feel like much of a victory to me, and not just because of the lack of necromancers there.."

Sinstra asks, "Why do you say such?"

Sinstra raises an eyebrow.

Khurek says to Silvwyn, "We destroyed their nest, they are merely helpess insects waiting to be crushed now."

Sinstra nods to Khurek.

Silvwyn asks, "Why weren't there any necromancers at all there, though? Did they clear out knowing we were coming?"

Sinstra says, "There are likely some remaining, but we will find them. We have cut the monster off at the head."

Sinstra says to Silvwyn, "Yes. They knew we were coming, it was said on the gweth."

Khurek nods.

Khurek says, "Perhaps we will find other, smaller nests in time. Elsewhere."

Khurek glances at you.

Ventuul says to Silvwyn, "Zamidren and his ilk are very slippery, but we will continue to hunt them."

Marielir curtsies to Khurek.

Cerval says, "We must remain vigilant."

Marielir curtsies to Sinstra.

Sinstra says, "Speaking of which..."

Powerhaus glances at a glowing iron fragment.

Marielir asks, "Are we safe now from their attacks?" >

Silvwyn says, "I hunt them whenever I get the chance. Found a known one seeking refuge at the ranger guild just yesterday."

You say, "We are taking care of those we discover."

Silvwyn rubs a S'lai short bow.

You nod to Khurek.

Marielir smiles.

Sinstra asks Powerhaus, "I do not believe I saw you there during the attack. Yet you show up before, and again after. Are you in league with them?"

Diliben frowns.

Marielir asks, "Is anyone in need of healing?"

Powerhaus shakes his head at Sinstra.

Powerhaus says, "I thought I heard something." > Powerhaus says, "Ran off."

Powerhaus says, "And you had proceeded."

Sinstra says to Marielir, "My leg, if you would."

Silvwyn asks, "Ran off?"

Powerhaus says, "He said to check the hill."

Marielir rests her hand on Sinstra's arm with a soft smile.

Ventuul says to Marielir, "We are safe from numerous practitioners. But Lyras and her horde still lurk outside the gates. We must keep a wary eye on others."

Khurek says, "Yes, but I should go see a temple Empath."

Powerhaus says, "I didn't hear anything."

A town guard ambles northeast.

Powerhaus ponders.

Khurek rubs his left arm.

Sinstra says to Powerhaus, "I see."

Khurek says to Sinstra, "Let me know if you take him to the dungeon."

Sinstra says to Powerhaus, "It is very suspicious."

Marielir cries out in pain.

Powerhaus says, "Well could've sworn the corpses were whispering."

Silvwyn asks, "Why a temple empath, when there's an empath right here?"

Powerhaus says, "But probably my imagination."

Silvwyn ponders.

Sinstra asks, "Whispering corpses?"

Powerhaus says, "Maybe the wind through their skulls.."

Sinstra says to Marielir, "The help is appreciated."

Sinstra asks Powerhaus, "You went onto the hill itself?"

Powerhaus nods.

Sinstra says, "Why? We were at the base of it."

Marielir gestures.

Sinstra asks Powerhaus, "You are not convincing me that we should not throw you into the dungeon right now. Did you warn them?"

Powerhaus says, "I did not warn anyone."

Sinstra says to Marielir, "Thank you."

Sinstra says to Powerhaus, "Your actions are very suspicious."

Powerhaus says, "People tend to think I'm a bit touched in the head."

Marielir asks, "Did you need healing Celitha?"

A strident theme keeps Kaedan's enchante lively, skipping from note to note with the stern rapidity of a beating heart. The soothing notes of Kaedan's song have a subtle meditative effect on you, easing your body.

Sinstra says to Powerhaus, "We will be watching you."

Adreara asks Powerhaus, "Are you not the one who defiled Asketi's altar with dirt?"

Adreara squints at Powerhaus.

Powerhaus nods to Adreara.

Sinstra glances at Adreara.

Adreara gasps!

Powerhaus says, "That's between me and her."

Sinstra asks, "He did what?"

Ventuul asks, "This is so?"

Ventuul shakes his head.

Calmly, a pure white alfar avenger steps away.

Adreara says, "He tried to leave dirt on Asketi's altar in her Temple."

Powerhaus gets a crystalline adder fang from inside his Adan'f skull.

Adreara folds her arms across her chest.

Sinstra scowls.

Sinstra asks Powerhaus, "Why would you do this?"

Powerhaus says to Adreara, "Succeed."

Sinstra scowls.

Powerhaus says, "I called her weak, and was unimpressed with her lack of Rides."

Adreara ponders.

Sinstra says, "I have heard enough."

Ventuul nods to Sinstra.

Adreara says, "Well her rides are missed."

Powerhaus says, "Another for marking me."

Powerhaus puts his fang in his Adan'f skull.

Powerhaus slides the jaw of his Adan'f skull shut.

A large flock of people rushes into the area! Though some are plainly robed, others are wearing thick armor. As their collective chants of rage fill the air, someone screeches, "There he is! Don't let him get away!" The crowd quickly converges on Powerhaus, overpowers him and throws him to the ground as dozens of iron-gripped hands pin down his arms and legs.

From the midst of the grumbling crowd, a priest of Aldauth steps forward. He proclaims, "This man is far too corrupt for a simple purging to right his sins. We must take him to the Temple to be fully cleansed!" The crowd quickly binds Powerhaus's arms and legs, dragging him helplessly away to the High Temple.

The clerics in the group wave their censers superstitiously over the spot where Powerhaus once was. As the cloying incense smoke covers the area, the crowd leaves, mumbling prayers against evil.

Adreara says to Sinstra, "Too bad a Priestess of Asketi could not whip him soundly."The soothing notes of Kaedan's song have a subtle meditative effect on you, easing your body.

Sinstra says, "The Inquisitor will deal with him." Ventuul says to Sinstra, "I imagine the Inquisitor and yourself will have your hands full with that Warrior Mage."

Ventuul says to Sinstra, "But if you require anything of me, I am easy enough to reach."

Sinstra says, "He is likely the one that got them all to leave."

Sinstra says to you, "Do not speak of the shard. We will not be using it from here on out."

Sinstra says, "There are other means to deal with the threats."
