Meeting Log - 9/28/2011 · on 09/28/2011 11:13 PM CDT 1302
* Lyneya is hushing everyone. *

> Lyneya says, "Shhhhhh."
>
Lyneya closes her eyes and makes a sound of contentment that resembles purring in the back of her throat.
>
Lyneya exclaims, "Hi guys!"
>
Lyneya says, "This isnt going to be a typical meeting tonight. I have one announcement, one progress update, and then we'll be turning it over to our guest speaker."
>
Socharis fades into view.
>
Lyneya says, "I'll open the list very very briefly, but ONLY to discuss the announcement. Everything else will have to go to the forums this month."
>
Lyneya says, "As for the progress update -- I've seen a couple of posts on the forums this past week about LTB scrolls. We are digging back into them again, finally. Please bear with us while we work through the backlog. We'll be caught up soon, I promise."
>
Lyneya says, "They ARE being worked on."
>
Lyneya says, "We'll get to ya."
>
Lyneya says, "Also, the great LTB review has begun. Its scary."
>
Lyneya says, "I have nothing to add about that yet. Its going to take a long while to do."
>
Lyneya says, "Now, for my announcement."
>
Lyneya ponders.
>
Raesh fades into view.
>
Lyneya says, "ALAE is coming to Prime."
>
You hear a distant "boom". A few moments later Yucca comes hurtling out of the sky and lands with a flop and a thud.
>
Yucca jumps up hastily looking foolish.
>
Solere gets an impish expression on her face, and lets out a hearty cheer.
>
Lyneya says, "If you've had a premium account for at least 6 months, you are eligible to apply to join."
>
Lyneya says, "The application can be found on the play.net website right along with the GM and GH applications."
>
Lyneya says, "Let me take a minute to explain what ALAE is."
>
A faint black aura appears around Vansiil, flickers a few times and then fades.
>
Lyneya says, "Have you ever wanted to design part of our world? With the Architectural and Landscaping Association of Elanthia (ALAE)."
>
Lyneya says, "You can work withus and do just that."
>
Lyneya says, "You're given the tools to get in there and actually build the world yourself, from your own designs. We'd have projects available for you to work on -- GMs dont always have time to build new hunting areas, even if they do have theperfect creature, so you could be asked to controbute to something like that."
>
Lyneya says, "Or new housing areas.. or you could propose an area of your own design."
>
Lyneya says, "I'm going to open the list for a moment -- please remember, this is ONLY for questions regarding ALAE."
>
Lyneya just opened the question list.
>

Krahas is next.

> Lyneya nods to Krahas.
>
Lyneya ponders.
>
Krahas chortles softly at some secret joke.
>
Solere asks, "Did you break the list?"
>
Solere leans on Lyneya.
>
Lyneya says, "The list didnt want to let him talk."
>
Raesh says, "She's good at breaking things."
>
Solere nods to Raesh.
>
Lyneya breaks Raesh.
>
Solere snickers.
>
Raesh's voice drops in pitch and he intones:

"The list has spoken! Krahas shall not talk!"

> Wilidore snickers.
>
Krahas flails his arms about.
>
Lyneya sighs. >

* Lyneya is allowing everyone to speak now. *

>

* Lyneya is hushing everyone. *

> Krahas shakes his head.
>
Lyneya flails her arms about.
>
Lyneya exclaims, "Its broken!"
>
Socharis raises an eyebrow.
>
Lyneya says, "It must be because Socharis is here."
>
Lyneya nods to Krahas.
>
Socharis says, "Try now."
>
Lyneya says, "Krahas's question was, Are players that have been premium for.. well, years, but don't have a recent 6 months consecutive, still apply? In otherwords, just returning to DR."
>
Lyneya says, "The answer is, no I'm sorry. You must be 6 months active at this time. Once we're up and running here in prime, we may reconsider."
>
Krahas looks thoughtful for a moment, then shrugs.
>
Krahas says, "Test."
>
Socharis nods.
>
Krahas exclaims, "Hoy!"
>
Healfdene chuckles.
>
Raesh exclaims, "Ah no! You must not go against the wishes of the list!"
>
Krahas chortles softly at some secret joke.
>
Socharis strikes a heroic pose.
>
Healfdene says, "Think the list is broken." > Raesh exclaims, "Kill him! KILL HIM!"
>
Vikhus raises an eyebrow.
>
Eliathor chuckles.
>
Kraggur grins.
>
Diggan says, "Anarchy we can all talk now."
>
Krahas looks smug.
>
Raesh suddenly fades away.
>
Healfdene whistles a merry tune.
>

* Lyneya is hushing everyone. *

> Solere says, "They're so much better when they are quiet."
>
Solere lets out a deep sigh of contentment.
>
Solere winks.
>
Lyneya nods at Solere, obviously agreeing with her views.
>
Lyneya says, "Ok."
>
Lyneya says, "So I guess for now y'all have to whisper me your question."
>

Yamcer is next.

> Lyneya nods politely to Yamcer.
>
Lyneya asks, "Yamcer wants to know, Is this speficily for areas? I'm interested, but I have a fondness for creature design more than areas. Would that fall under this or not really?"
>
Lyneya says, "At this time, ALAE is only for world building. BUT. If you have ideas for creatures, you can certainly send them my way. I collect them and share them with new coders when they're looking for stuff to do."
>
Lyneya grins. >

Sortny is next.

> Lyneya nods politely to Sortny.
>
Lyneya asks, "Sortny wants to know, Is there a limit on how many can join ALAE?"
>
Lyneya says, "The answer is yes."
>
Lyneya says, "I dont have a solid number for you beyond saying we're going to keep it to a manageable sized group. We'll start with a large handful and see how they work together, and add people as we can."
>

Synamon is next.

> Lyneya nods politely to Synamon.
>
Lyneya says, "Synamon wants to know, would we be able to create a shop, not a trader shop but one that is kind of based on the roleplay of our characters and would possibly be a dream come true? or a field in which there are cows to wrangle? we have priorities."
>
Lyneya says, "You may be asked to build shops for a GM. Do you mean your own personal shops? Probably not."
>
Lyneya says, "Synamon says, not ours to run but a shop that might be based on an idea. Yes. It could happen."
>
Lyneya says, "Er, that was confusing."
>
Lyneya says, "Synamon says, not ours to run but a shop that might be based on an idea."
>
Lyneya says, "And the answer is, Yes, that could happen."
>
Lyneya grins
>
Lyneya ponders.
>
Lyneya says, "Ok."
>
Lyneya says, "At this point, we're going to take 5 to see if we can figure out what the heck is wrong with the list. Bear with me a moment."
>
Jhustis gazes upward.
>
Solere leans on Jhustis.
>
Solere nods.
>
Synamon shakes her head.
>
Jhustis drools.
>
Lyneya says, "I didnt do it."
>
Jhustis chuckles at Solere.
>
Synamon says, "Test."
>
Synamon beams!
>
Socharis gets an impish expression on his face, and lets out a hearty cheer.
>
Lyneya asks, "Anyone else?"
>
Lyneya laughs!
>
Jhustis lets out a loud "Huzzah!"
>
Synamon asks, "Field, cows?"
>
Lyneya says, "Ok. Yay! Thanks, Socharis."
>
Lyneya says, "I think."
>
Socharis chuckles.
>
Lyneya says, "I think he broke it to begin with."
>
Lyneya glances at Socharis.
>
Lyneya exclaims, "Anyways!"
>
Lyneya says, "At this point, I'm turning it over to GM Socharis."
>
Socharis says, "Alrighty folks, I'm here to basically do a Q&A about the experience combinations that are in progress right now."
>
Ulerith suddenly fades away.
>
Socharis says, "What I'm going to do is open up the list and let people sign up, and I'll work through questions as best as I can."
>
Socharis just opened the question list.
>
Lyneya says, "While you guys are getting yourselves on the list..."
>
Lyneya says, "I love you all. I really do. But I cant possibly answer everyone's whispers. Head to the forums with any other ALAE questions please."
>
Lyneya smiles.
>
Socharis says, "The experience combinations are basically a whole bunch of skills that are getting combined (like Light Edged and Medium Edged, for instance), as well as a bunch of new skills."
>
Jhustis chuckles.
>
Socharis says, "This is all being worked on and being tested in the Test Instance at the moment. If you this is all news to you, I strongly recommend reading the Experience System forums, because I'm hoping to avoid going over all of the basics right now."
>
Socharis nods.
>
Socharis says, "I'll start pulling from the list, now, but feel free to join or rejoin it."
>

Healfdene is next.

> Healfdene asks, "Ok....I think mainly the question on MY mind is do we have even the slightest hint at a time frame or is it still in the near-distant future?"
>
Socharis says, "It's in testing right now, but I don't have a specific timeframe."
>
Socharis says, "Months, not years."
>
Healfdene says, "Ok....testing for the new exp system a few years back didn't take long..."
>
Healfdene says, "I understand the scope of the project."
>
Socharis nods.
>
Healfdene says, "But...ah ok....at least it's not years."
>
Socharis chuckles.
>
Socharis says, "I can't be more specific than that and have any hope of it being accurate."
>
Socharis says, "If it were just the skill combinations, it would be a bit different - However, Magic 3.0 and Combat 3.0 are also part of the package."
>
Healfdene says, "Understood...A vague answer is more than i've gotten anywhere else."
>
Socharis nods.
>

Osus is next.

> Osus says, "My main concern and question is what, if anything, has been done about the skill combine and interaction with Thief Khri? I've seen some of the notes about combines but I cant recall anything having been posted that was concrete about our projected Khri list, if its going to change, and what will be done with the khri that might become obsolete. Oh, and SOMEONE owes the Wyvern Arena some tables still... Thanks."
>
Osus winks.
>
Jhustis chuckles.
>
Socharis says, "We're still trying to decide what we want the obselete Khri to do. We have some ideas but nothing serious. We don't plan to just get rid of it, though."
>
Socharis says, "It bears noting also that the M3 release will not encompass a Khri rewrite to use the new skills."
>
Osus nods.
>
Socharis says, "At least, not the Magic/Supernatural skills. Most Khri will end up working largely as they did before."
>
Socharis nods. >

Sortny is next.

> Sortny asks, "What about the trader speculates? Will they work like they do now?"
>
Sortny asks, "Or will they convert to magic 3.0?"
>
Jhustis nods to Pormethius.
>
Socharis says, "They will not be part of Magic 3.0."
>
Sortny asks, "So nae magic for Traders?"
>
Socharis says, "Nothing is planned at the moment, nope."
>
Sortny says, "People have been bringing it up on the boards, why I'm asking."
>
Sortny says, "That's all I have."
>
Socharis nods. >

Whitbuffalo is next.

> Whitbuffalo kindly asks, "Ok with this magic 3.o do all the guilds get a revamp of their spells?"
>
Whitbuffalo kindly says, "Magic users fo course."
>
Socharis says, "Yep - All spells and spell lists are being revamped, some majorly and some minorly."
>
Whitbuffalo nods to Pormethius.
>
Socharis nods.
>
Socharis says, "All spells that you have will be reset, there will be a preview period too, etc."
>
Socharis says, "Similar to the last spell wipe."
>
Whitbuffalo kindly says, "Thankyou."
>
Socharis nods. >

Yamcer is next.

> Yamcer says, "Howdy."
>
Yamcer says, "I'm mostly interested in what is going to happen with the PM skill for those NMU's that have ranks in it. Thieves with Inner Magic as an example."
>
Socharis nods.
>
Socharis asks, "Listened in on the Plat meeting yesterday?"
>
Socharis grins.
>
Yamcer shakes his head.
>
Yamcer says, "Independent thought."
>
Socharis says, "At the moment, I'm not sure. I don't have any plans to remove the skills, though, so I think your PM ranks are safe."
>
Yamcer asks, "Will all magic ranks be teachable and learnable from a class by NMUs?"
>
Socharis says, "I don't have any immediate intent to change the way it is now."
>
Socharis says, "To be clear, I don't actually even know what it's like now."
>
Cordath adds his name to the question list.
>
Yamcer says, "I have over 200 ranks in targeted magic, yet can't teach... that doesn't seem right."
>
Socharis says, "But I'm not planning to make any changes as to who can listen to what, except to reinforce that each guild's exclusive skill is not teachable to a different guild."
>
Socharis says, "As much as your statement does make sense, it's not really in the scope of the skill combines."
>
Socharis says, "If I was setting out to fix everything skill-related, it would be a far bigger project."
>
Yamcer nods.
>
Socharis nods.
>
Yamcer says, "So wait for an actual teaching rewrite for something like that to be considered/."
>
Socharis says, "Teaching rewrite, feature request, etc."
>
Socharis says, "I'm not sure what the best way to get it in there would be, but I know it's not the skill combine, if that makes sense."
>
Yamcer nods.
>
Socharis nods. >

Kraggur is next.

> Kraggur says, "Hello."
>
Kraggur asks, "Is there any timing on when the mech lore split will occur? Will it be piecemeal (e.g. forging, then enchanting) or as a whole?"
>
Socharis says, "It will be piecemeal."
>
Kraggur nods.
>
Socharis says, "Basically, as a skill becomes trainable in an acceptable range (Blacksmithing, for instance, likely is), we'll open up that skill."
>
Kraggur says, "Great, thank you."
>
Socharis says, "When that happens, the new crafting systems that are for blacksmithing will start using the Blacksmithing skill, and you'll be able to move ranks from Mech into Blacksmithing (exactly once)."
>
Socharis says, "Same goes for enchanting, engineering, etc."
>
Kraggur asks, "Any estimate as to when that might start happening?"
>
Socharis says, "The blacksmithing split and possibly the engineering split will happen when the combination goes live."
>
Socharis says, "Please keep questions on the list - If I answer all of the questions via whisper, I'll be here all night." >

Healfdene is next.

> Healfdene says to Socharis, "You could always put up avoid whisper.....anyway."
>
Healfdene asks, "Barbarian enchanting...I've heard everything from all sides on this. WHAT exactly can you tell us about it? How is it going to encompass "magic" skills that barbs will not already be forced to learn for their dances/roars/etc? Also I read somewhere, something about sharkteeth getting a revamp in the new changes. What is being done with them? Finally, you said MUs get a preview period, can Barbs assume we will get a preview for our new abilities?"
>
Healfdene says, "Sorry i know it's a lot....."
>
Healfdene chuckles.
>
Socharis says, "Honestly, I'm not the right person to ask about barbarian stuff - Kodius has been pretty good about the forums, and he as all of the decisions figured out."
>
Healfdene nods.
>
Healfdene asks, "Including the preview period? No idea on that?"
>
Socharis says, "I do know that Barbs will likely get a preview period as well as a testing period for their stuff, though."
>
Healfdene nods.
>
Healfdene says, "Excellent....."
>
Socharis nods. >

Diggan is next.

> Diggan says, "Hello."
>
Socharis waves.
>
Diggan asks, "My question is regarding things combinations that count towards circling reqs. Any clue how that will be handled and when the new reqs will be posted?"
>
Diggan asks, "For example, Stlaking and Hiding are up there in my reqs... what will happen?"
>
Diggan says, "And I would imagine some bards are going to be outta luck worse than me."
>
Diggan says, "Barbs... not bards."
>
Socharis asks, "All of the reqs are being updated to work with the new models, but I don't have a date for when those will be posted. Are you wondering what will happen if you end up with skills combining such that you don't have enough to be your current circle?"
>
Diggan says, "Yes. Because we were told there would be no backtraining on this test."
>
Socharis nods.
>
Socharis says, "Correct."
>
Socharis says, "After all of the combinations have occurred, your skills will be brought up to the minimum for your current circle."
>
Socharis says, "If that means you get a lot of free ranks, that's how it is."
>
Diggan asks, "Hmm. Interesting. Will we at least get some notice before the split? Or will it be chaos after the combo?"
>
Socharis asks, "I'm not sure what split you mean - Do you mean mech?"
>
Diggan says, "I mean combination... I'm so used to saying mech split..."
>
Diggan asks, "When Hiding and Stalking combine... will I know my ranger reqs before or after that?"
>
Socharis says, "You'll know the reqs before."
>
Diggan says, "Thank you for the answers."
>
Diggan says, "That's all."
>
Socharis nods. >

Kasrendyr is next.

> Kasrendyr says, "This is a nice easy one. Is someone working on changing all the titles over to the new skills? If so, my sympathies to whomever took on that assignment, as there are a zillion titles out there now."
>
Socharis chuckles.
>
Socharis asks, "Are you one of the testers in the test instance?"
>
Kasrendyr says, "Nope."
>
Socharis nods.
>
Socharis says, "There are some bugs, but they're largely fixed up."
>
Kasrendyr asks, "Im guessing that means the issues reared its head already?"
>
Socharis says, "The biggest issue is that a lot of the titles will stay the same, intentionally."
>
Kasrendyr says, "Oh! Excellent."
>
Socharis says, "Your skill in small blades will still make you a 'light edged master', for instance."
>
Socharis says, "Or whatever."
>
Kasrendyr says, "Okay. That's all Ive got. Everything else has been covered."
>
Socharis nods. >

Cordath is next.

> Cordath waves.
>
Cordath says, "With these kinds of sweeping changes, it would be good to get a feel for how it will work..."
>
Socharis nods.
>
Cordath says, "Even if most things are broken and the caveat "Things will likely change" is in effect."
>
Cordath says, "That being said..."
>
Cordath asks, "Will the test instance be opened to premium members, or will it remain open only to a select few?"
>
Socharis says, "We plan to widen the Test instance population once things are in a more stable state than they are now."
>
Cordath ponders.
>
Socharis says, "I haven't figured out our exact plans there, but I would be surprised if we didn't include Premium players in that."
>
Cordath asks, "Will there be a general preview phase, or will it be just a larger group?"
>
Cordath nods.
>
Cordath says, "That's all I've got for now, thanks."
>
Cordath nods politely to Socharis.
>
Socharis nods. >

Pormethius is next.

> Pormethius bows.
>
Pormethius says, "Understanding how the skills combine appears fairly straight forward, but exactly how PM will break apart is still a little ambigous to me. Would you mind giving a vanilla example of what we can expect? I know you don't have time to go into great depth but any glimpse would be appreciated."
>
Pormethius asks, "For example, a person with 400 PM, will he have the option to allocate where to put ranks in the new skills, is it a rank for rank draw from the old PM pool, and how does that compare to grandfathering?"
>
Socharis chuckles.
>
Pormethius gnaws on his lip.
>
Socharis says, "You know... I keep asking Zeyurn this question, and he keeps telling me the answer, but I keep forgetting it."
>
Solere chuckles.
>
Socharis says, "Ask it on the Magic forums and I'm sure he'll be able to answer you."
>
Socharis says, "But it's totally slipping my mind right now."
>
Pormethius nods.
>
Socharis says, "Sorry."
>
Pormethius says, "Will do, thanks."
>
Pormethius bows.
>
Socharis says, "You can have another question for free if you want."
>
Lyneya laughs!
>
Pormethius ponders.
>
Jhustis chuckles.
>
Pormethius says, "Oh I have a few but it doesn't pertain to skill combinations."
>
Pormethius says, "Sadly..."
>
Socharis nods.
>
Socharis says, "Another time, then."
>
Pormethius nods.
>
Pormethius says, "Thanks for your time."
>
Socharis nods. >

Kaijana is next.

> Kaijana says, "(not sure if this pertains to this subject or not, but I might as well ask) with the refund of TDP's and purchased spell slots... how will that happen? I bought the spell slots when they cost much less back in the day, and I would hate to have those ripped away and then have to pay higher TDP costs on that now."
>
Socharis says, "Unfortunately, they're all going to go away."
>
Kaijana says, "It was good while it lasted."
>
Kaijana chortles softly at some secret joke.
>
Socharis says, "Part of the whole skill/magic/etc effort is to put everybody back on equal footing as best as we can."
>
Kaijana nods.
>
Socharis nods.
>
Kaijana says, "Thanks." >

Eliathor is next.

> Eliathor nods to Socharis. > Eliathor softly asks, "Greetings. You said that if we were below the requirements for our circle, we would have our skills brought up to match. For all those added skills we get, will we earn TDPs on them? If so, then good. If not, would we be able to wave the grandfathering so as to earn those TDPs?"
>
Eliathor softly says, "I read that this issue happened to Moon Mages years ago when they got their Astrology skill. I just wanted to get an idea before hand."
>
Socharis says, "Your new TD count will be assessed at the very end, so that everybody that has X ranks will have Y TDPs."
>
Lyneya snorts, loudly.
>
Lyneya glances at Pormethius.
>
Eliathor nods to Socharis.
>
Eliathor softly says, "Thank you."
>
Socharis nods. >

Healfdene is next.

> Healfdene asks, "I've heard from multiple people that when DR2.0 rolled out for weeks after there was massive game crashes almost every day. Is anything being done to avoid this again?"
>
Healfdene says, "Hell even when the new exp system rolled out few years back there were some pretty heafty issues with crashes."
>
Socharis says, "I think we always do our best to avoid crashes. With the test instance, it's a lot easier to catch the big stuff, but it's safe to say that we hate crashes a lot more than you do."
>
Jhustis chuckles.
>
Jhustis nods in agreement.
>
Socharis chuckles.
>
Lyneya nods emphatically.
>
Healfdene says, "I dunno about that....I hate 'em an aweful lot."
>
Healfdene chuckles.
>
Healfdene says, "Ok then..."
>
Socharis says, "In any case, yeah, we do want to keep crashing from happening."
>
Healfdene says, "Let's assume for a moment that there are big crashes."
>
Jhustis stares blankly into the distance.
>
Lyneya says, "We'll just blame it on Healfdene. Problem solved."
>
Lyneya strikes a heroic pose.
>
Healfdene asks, "As I understand it you awarded RPA points, afterwards? Will something similar be happening?"
>
Healfdene says to Lyneya, "The goto answer, blame it on the 'tog."
>
Healfdene chuckles.
>
Healfdene says, "Would something similar happen i suppose, not will it."
>
Socharis says, "Honestly that's so far into the 'what if' scenario that there's no sense in going there, I don't think."
>
Socharis says, "We'll handle crashes as we always handle crashes, I expect."
>
Socharis says, "It really depends on what happens, who's effected, if there's a warp, etc."
>
Healfdene nods.
>
Socharis says, "I CAN say that there absolutely will be downtime before everything comes out, though."
>
Socharis says, "That will be planned, announced, etc."
>
Healfdene says, "THat is inherint of course."
>
Socharis nods.
>
Healfdene asks, "I take it no RPAs for it then?"
>
Healfdene snickers.
>
Socharis says, "Not for planned downtime."
>
Socharis chuckles. >

Yamcer is next.

> Yamcer says, "Howdy again."
>
Socharis raises his hand in a quick salute.
>
Yamcer asks, "About the secondary pool experience, I assume that method is still a go, will we be able to control which skills it pulses into? Say i'm training evasion and stealths and my old stalking skill gets split between the two but I'd prefer them to go into Evasion more. Possible?"
>
Socharis shakes his head.
>
Socharis says, "The overflow pools will apply to the entire skillset."
>
Yamcer says, "Oh ok."
>
Yamcer says, "That was all."
>
Socharis nods to Yamcer. >

Ryain is next.

> Ryain says, "With the current weaponsmithing system let's say it takes 7-800 ranks of Mech to craft a decent bastard sword. When the mech split occurs are we to be expected to have identical skill traded into "weaponsmithing exp" in order to attain similar results? I find that at the rate we barbs train lore skills, it's been impossible to reproduce old results without almost tripling in mech (for certain types of weapons)."
>
Ryain asks, "So if it takes 700 mech now, will you need 700 "weaponsmithing" to attain similar or identical results?"
>
Socharis says, "We won't be changing any of the skill checks as part of the mech split."
>
Ryain nods.
>
Socharis says, "So if it takes 700 mech to do, it'll take 700 blacksmithing."
>
Ryain says, "That's all, thanks."
>
Socharis nods. >

Linett is next.

> Linett says, "With the 3.0 changes are there any changes to RPAs and the PIRP system, I ask primarily because I have several saved RPA's and want to understand if I would be better off using them now or saving them, or if I do save them there is a negative effect due to XYZ change that I really don't understand."
>
Socharis shakes his head.
>
Socharis says, "I don't have any plans to modify the RPA system."
>
Linett asks, "And however RPAs affect bits, all of which leaves me really entirely clueless, will work the same now or later?"
>
Socharis nods.
>
Socharis says, "Yep."
>
Linett says, "Thank you."
>
Socharis nods to Linett.
>
Socharis exclaims, "Anybody else have questions for the list? Last call!" >

Kalisia is next.

> Kalisia asks, "Can you give us an idea of what sort of crafting there will be?"
>
Socharis ponders.
>
Kalisia asks, "You know, artsy kinda stuff... jewelry, clothes, etc?"
>
Socharis says, "That's pretty far outside of the scope of the skill combine."
>
Socharis sticks his tongue out at Kalisia.
>
Socharis says, "Crafting stuff will keep coming, though."
>
Kalisia giggles.
>
Socharis says, "There will be artsy stuff, gemcutting, jewelry, etc."
>
Kalisia says, "Im very confused... oh thank you. Also..."
>
Kalisia says, "How do I get info on joining the ALAE team? I missed that in the beginning."
>
Socharis says, "Post on the Premie forums about that, there will be a lot of other discussion around it too."
>
Lyneya says, "The application can be found on the play.net website, along with the GM and GH applications."
>
Socharis grins.
>
Kalisia says, "Thanks."
>
Socharis nods. >

Kaijana is next.

> Kaijana asks, "With the mech split that happens, how will the current ranks be divied up into the other ranks? will it be something akin to the music lore split?"
>
Kaijana says, "And as a minor note, how does this split affect empaths and their shifting (asking for a friend)."
>
Socharis says, "When a mech skill gets opened up, you'll be able to transfer your Mech Lore ranks into that skill, and you'll only be able to do it once."
>
Kaijana says, "Right but wtih music you could choose to split evently so say you had 300 ranks music you could have all 4 at say...70 ranks, or 1 at 300."
>
Socharis says, "The mech skills will be coming out one at a time, so that won't really work for mech."
>
Kaijana nods.
>
Kaijana asks, "Then do we wait to swap those ranks over?"
>
Kaijana asks, "Until the skill we want comes out?"
>
Socharis nods.
>
Socharis says, "That's what I'd recommend."
>
Kaijana nods.
>
Kaijana asks, "And any idea on the shifting?"
>
Kaijana chortles softly at some secret joke.
>
Lyneya nods to Vansiil.
>
Socharis says, "As far as shifting goes, it's likely that the mech component will disappear, but I haven't confirmed that."
>
Kaijana nods.
>
Kaijana says, "Thanks."
>
Socharis nods. >

Linett is next.

> Linett says, "Are any other system releases, like further crafting, dependent on the 3.0 release? Sorry if that is already in forums, I find forums painful. Also when all the magic stuff is 3.0 done will all magic guilds or any magic guilds be able to wipe spells and repick like has been done in the past for other reasons."
>
Socharis says, "Magic, Combat, Skills, the Barb Rewrite, and two other things that I am not at the liberty to speak to will be coming out all at once."
>
Linett nods.
>
Linett asks, "And repicking/wipe spells/enchantes?"
>
Socharis says, "That's part of Magic."
>
Linett says, "Oh, I will find that forum and catch up then like a good girl."
>
Linett says, "Thank you."
>
Socharis nods.
>
Socharis grins. >

Celturian is next.

> Celturian bows.
>
Celturian confidently says, "Apologies if i missed it but how will the mech split affect fletching/tanning and if the mech ranks go into one skill how will that affect rangers for making hunter's bows since we need 300 ranks of mech."
>
Socharis says, "Before we fully release Engineering, we'll need to have fletching rewritten."
>
Socharis says, "So that should answer both of those questions."
>
Socharis ducks his head.
>
Celturian confidently asks, "Is that part of the mech release?"
>
Socharis says, "There isn't really a 'mech release'. It's not part of the skills combination, though."
>
Celturian confidently asks, "Ahh ok so would be a good idea to wait and see what all Engineering entails then?"
>
Socharis nods to Celturian.
>
Celturian confidently says, "Thanks! that's all i had."
>
Socharis smiles. >

Breese is next.

> Breese asks, "Will there be any interesting skills as part of the mech split coming later, or are we going to be stuck with what has already been announced?"
>
Socharis says, "There aren't any unannounced skills that I'm aware of,and I'd be the one that should know."
>
Socharis grins
>
Breese nods.
>
Breese says, "Unfortunate."
>
Socharis chuckles.
>
Socharis ponders.
>
Lyneya whistles a merry tune.
>
Breese hums to herself.
>
Socharis says, "Sorry, too many threads."
>
Breese giggles.
>
Socharis says, "Yeah, the posted skill list is the final one."
>
Breese nods.
>
Socharis nods. >

Zeteivek is next.

> Zeteivek asks, "Has the numbers portion of the skill combine been discussed yet? For example, if I have 50 swimming and 100 climbing, how will they fit into the new sportsmanship skill? Would the lower of the two just be brought up to par?"
>
Socharis says, "Almost all skill combinations will take the highest of the skills being combined."
>
Socharis says, "Athletics, in your case, would have 100 ranks."
>
Zeteivek asks, "But there are exceptions?"
>
Socharis says, "The main exception is stalking and hiding. That combination will take the highest of the two, up to 30% higher than your hiding skill."
>
Socharis says, "The other is Performance, which will not be including Vocals for any guild but Bards."
>
Zeteivek says, "Gotcha. Makes total sense. Thank you."
>
> Socharis nods.

Kaijana is next.

> Kaijana says, "Just taking the top skill seems like a lot of wasted time on my part for all of that. shouldn't we be looking at the bits of each skill and simply adding them? for someone that kept swimming and climbing neck and neck, that seems wrong that they are now on par with someone that had 200 climinb and 10 swimming."
>
Socharis says, "The overflow pools are the answer to that question - there's a lot of information about how that's going to work in the experience forums."
>
Kaijana nods.
>
Socharis says, "Lots and lots of discussion about fairness, etc on that forum, and I think we reached a good consensus. Elanthipedia has a good set of GM posts there too."
>
Socharis smiles. >

Healfdene is next.

> Healfdene asks, "This is the first 'I'm hearing of the hiding/stalking combine...My stalking is nearly 200 ranks over my hiding, what is going to happen to all my stalking ranks? will they be thrown into the overflow pool as well?"
>
Socharis says, "I'm going to have to give you the same answer I just gave - Read elanthipedia and the Experience System forums for the full rundown - It's too much information to explain in the context of a meeting."
>
Healfdene says, "Hmm, ok...."
>
Socharis says, "Oh durr."
>
Socharis says, "I misread."
>
Healfdene chuckles.
>
Socharis says, "Yeah, the rest of your stalking ranks will go into the overflow pool."
>
Healfdene says, "Ok."
>
Healfdene says, "Thank you."
>
Socharis exclaims, "Alright folks! That's all for me!" >

  • Socharis is allowing everyone to speak now. *

>

  • Lyneya is hushing everyone. *

> Lyneya exclaims, "Just kidding!"
>
Socharis laughs!
>
Lyneya says, "Real quick before you go..."
>
Socharis exclaims, "But wait, there's more!"
>
Jhustis snickers.
>
Wilidore snickers.
>
Socharis waves.
>
Socharis suddenly fades away.
>
Lyneya says, "I opened the tent, and put in a new gift as well as last month';s gift again -- but with the correct READ on it now. Throw the old one out. I'm not fixing them all. Also..."
>
Lyneya says, "The ALAE folder will appear under the Estate Holder section before the end of the night, they're setting it up for me as we speak."
>
Lyneya says, "And thats all! NOW you can be noisy." >

* Lyneya is allowing everyone to speak now. *
