| Sorcery as Society Defines It: a set of spells that are illegal to use and do not fit into any (legal) guild's repertory. By their bastard nature they're inevitably violent (in some capacity) and mainstream society regards them as manifestly evil.
Sorcery as the Universe Defines It: using a spell that expects mana you are not attuned to. The courts care about society, not the actual state of the universe. | |
