Good crafted equipment is a noticeable improvement over store bought -- as they should be -- but the degree of improvement when we look at the actual math is probably the lightest in the industry. By all means it's better to have a kertig doomclaymore than shopping for a store-bought, but it's not multiple times more damaging or anything. Storebought is sub-optimal but feasible to use.
