The "increase" is what doesn't currently work very well in the brawling system. It adds a bonus modifier to the damage type, but often your base damage is so low to begin with that the bonus rounds out to 0. Forged brawling items should never get "increase" except with "none", and with some of the items forged before the bug at high weights (hence why haralun items have poor increase - they wrapped around due to the negative/positive mixup).

I hope that is clear. I'll never understand some of these old systems :P
