Pike

A pike is a pole weapon, a very long thrusting spear used extensively by infantry. Unlike many similar weapons, the pike is not intended to be thrown. The first pikes were simply long sharpened trees used mainly to stop incoming cavalry and sometimes charging infantry.[1]
