Description:	The Nissa's Binding spell is the only legacy the Empath Guild has of Lanival's companion, Nissa. Though it is thought that this spell was originally meant to be a type of anaesthesia, modern empaths have discovered other uses for it. When cast, this pattern will soothe the life essences around you and plunge them into a slumber. Those with great fortitude may resist this effect. As with most applications of this nature, Nissa's Binding is useless against the undead.

-Nissa's Binding has given rise to a rat's nest of consent issues. Many players consider casting the spell a belligerant act, and Empaths have suffered both in-character retaliation and Gamemaster-issued Warnings for using the spell on players.
-From an Empath's perspective, since Empaths are severely restricted from engaging in violence, Nissa's Binding is the '''only''' even moderately effective tool available in a conflict.  Contrary to the above statement, it has been GM-endorsed according to policy as a legitimate recourse for Empaths in a consented conflict.  The warnings that were issued in the past were the result of GM confusion on the applicability of the spell in conflict situations.
-All that being said, however, like any action in the game, under the right circumstances it can give consent as well.
