Appearance

You see Nefis Mordael, Arcanist of Ilithi, a Human.
Nefis has an expansive scar winding across the forehead and terminating through the left eyebrow and dark baggy rings encircling exhausted amber eyes. His black hair is shoulder length and fine with the left side shaved, and is worn pulled back in a multitude of beaded braids. He has dark skin.
He appears to be middle-aged.
He has a scruffy growth of stubble on his face.
His left palm has a tattoo of a crimson eye surrounded by a black sphere that almost obscures a circular scar.
He is in good shape.

He is wearing a sinuous multi-headed serpent amulet suspended from braided sinew, a crimson caftan robe gold-stitched with a skeletal tree above an endless knot, a knotted sinew-wrapped baldric buckled with a desiccated maw-like crest, a reinforced leather raekhlo with a bejeweled silver knife and an abyssal quartz-inlaid athame hanging from it and a pair of polished black boots trimmed in white leather.

About

A brazenly unapologetic necromancer and acknowledged follower of the Lichlord Jeihrem, Nefis considers himself something of an expert on the demonic (or the Profane as he refers to them). He has been known to be quite free about the nature of these entities and has often shared his opinions and research with many willing to ask.

When not attending to his own research, he has often been sighted attending philosophical and research related discussions. Though his demeanor is most often that of a mild and curious scholar, he has been know be to fiercely protective (obsessively so) of things he sees as important to his personal goals.

Alteration: a crimson caftan robe gold-stitched with a skeletal tree above an endless knot

Expertly woven from lotusweave, this open-fronted robe has been meticulously embellished in golden thread with decorative esoteric symbols and spirals all along the edges, sleeve cuffs, and collar. Centered on the back is an elaborately detailed depiction of a tree, its branches devoid of foliage, in a vaguely humanoid shape. The root structure twists and turns, enveloping itself and forming a tightly woven infinity knot.

Alteration: a viciously-barbed midnight-blue ritual knife with a hilt wrapped in filthy bandages

The makeshift ritual knife was made from the midnight-blue barb of some unknown creature. Bandages, stained with blood and ichor, are wrapped around the base to create a grippable hilt. Scored into the "blade" of the knife are the words "She Who Owns Our Souls shall break the gods themselves."

Alteration: a knotted sinew-wrapped baldric buckled with a desiccated maw-like crest

The blackened steel buckle is cast into the stylized symbol of a slashed double hex enclosed within a circle formed by gaping jaws.

Alteration: a sinuous multi-headed serpent amulet suspended from braided sinew

Masterfully carved from demonbone, the serpent forms a twisted circle around a sideways diamond with a vertical line etched down the center. Each head is intricately detailed with gaping maws nested within one another.

Item: an enruned black shell talisman

Most of the etchings are obscure, straining the eye and evoking a sense of menace lying in wait. One, however, is conspicuously a triple-tined claw.

433 AV	With the Mysteriarch Sivroch, successfully repelled the scouting party sent by the Rathan House Moglin to Basalt Isle.
435 AV	Performed a study of the last known living Maelshyvean vessel; subject died as a result but yielded interesting results.
436 AV	Was offered a chance at redemption by the immortal Tamsine during a ritual for the hearth and family. Incapable of accepting failure in pursuit of his goals, Nefis refuses.
437 AV	Ambushed House Moglin representatives during parley with Captain Srinoja, a pirate.
437 AV	Ambushed Commodore Khoheke in Kygar's Pub, enabling Captain Srinoja to steal his keys.
437 AV	Issued an ultimatum to the citizens of Ratha to turn over Commodore Khoheke and cease planning the invasion of Basalt Isle. Days later, called the ultimatum due. For the denial, burned much of the wheat fields and parts of the city of Ratha. Banyakea from the Isle also attacked.
437 AV	Unsuccessfully attempted to stop villagers from the Basalt Isle town of Jeihrem's Barrow from leaving with the House Moglin representatives.
