Dantia is a mixture of the Bookworm (quiet, smart, and seemingly physically unimposing) and the Lady of War (a woman of action who retains an air of grace and reserve not usually associated with violence). She spends as much time researching and writing as she does taking care of business, in her own refined way. Think Eowyn from Lord of the Rings, or Joan from Mad Men.

About

You see Carnage Darling Dantia, Rallying Point of Therengia, a Human Empath.
She has a triangular face, star-flecked emerald eyes and a freckled nose. Her radiant red-gold hair is long and interspersed with strands of copper and honey, and is worn loose, tucked behind her ears. She has fair skin and a slender figure.
She is petite for a Human.
She is an adult.

She is wearing a clingy white gossamer gown embroidered with silver filigree, a pair of gleaming silver wings with sharpened pinions, a delicate silver necklace suspending a tiny pink diamond dahlia, a pair of daintily winged ankle boots with white gossamer and silver accents and a pristine white Therengian rose.

Layers of sheer gossamer have been mindfully draped, some areas thin enough to feign at translucence while others are layered for additional modesty. Appliques of shimmering filigree and tiny diamonds have been scattered across the front of the bodice and down flowing cape sleeves that hang nearly to the ground when worn. Even the slightest movement causes the tiers of diaphanous fabric to waft, giving an air of ethereal grace.

Hundreds of feathers forged from gleaming silver have been artfully arranged over a thin wire frame, forming two immense wings reminiscent of a dove in flight. The outermost feathers and pinions have been individually honed down until their edges are as sharp as blades. Sturdy steelsilk straps discreetly hold the wings in place.

Made from miniscule links of silver that shift and shimmer in the available light, this delicate necklace is just long enough to nestle the dangling charm between the collarbones when worn. A tiny dahlia is shaped from a single pink diamond, the petals spreading in mid-bloom.

This pair of low-heeled ankle boots are fashioned with particular attention to detail. A sculpted band of sturdy white leather forms the rounded toe and curves behind the heel for additional support. White gossamer lace is inset into the sides of each boot beneath two tiny wings that nestle at the ankle. Thin white laces crisscross through silver grommets to hold them firmly in place.

This flower is an exemplary version of a Therengian rose, its delicate white petals dusted with a pearly opalescence and limned in the faintest shades of gold. The bloom has been preserved at the perfect time, the bud just over half-opened with its beauty on full display. Tied at the base of the flower, half-hidden beneath a set of dark green leaves, is a gold-edged tag affixed by a short gossamer ribbon.

Guardian Spirit

As you contemplate the spoon, the air around you grows crisper, with the sharp smell of late autumn. In the distance, you hear the gentle chiming of bells, though their tones are slightly discordant to your ears. Abruptly, you realize that you are not alone, a towering alfar warrior with platinum stars accentuating its skin standing before you. Gently, the creature takes the spoon from your hand, inspecting it gravely.

In a sonorous voice, the towering warrior says, "This has been lost to my people for many years, and we had all but given up the search. My name is Ahven. I owe you a great debt, Dantia. Call upon me at any time, and I will come to your aid." The warrior bows respectfully, its left hand resting over its heart.

As it straightens the warrior appears less real, like a reflection seen in an antique mirror. You close your eyes to blink away the dizzying apparition and when you open them, the creature is gone.

This alfar warrior towers in height, tall even among its fae brethren. Warm brown hair has been cut to the shoulder and tied back at the neck with a simple leather strap, while vigilant midnight blue eyes gaze from an otherworldly face. Painted across its collarbone and neck are a series of delicate platinum stars that accentuate its ceramic-white skin and the hard lines of its physique.
NAME: Ahven

Horse

The rose grey horse is eighteen hands high with a red-tinted medium grey coat. It has a dark grey mane and tail. It is a mare and has a white star-shaped mark on the forehead.

It is wearing an elegant white leather saddle with tooled panels and platinum stirrups, a quilted white saddle pad with diamond studs, a bitless white leather bridle with platinum fasteners, a platinum chanfron inset with diamonds and engraved with star filigree, a platinum crinnet made of overlapping articulated plates, an ornately engraved platinum peytrel flush set with diamonds, a flanchard of platinum plates riveted to supple white leather, and a platinum and white leather crupper with star filigree engravings.

This saddle has been handcrafted with an obvious attention to detail. The leather has been meticulously tanned and molded into the most comfortable position possible, with star filigree tooled into the panels on each side where the rider would place their legs. Various platinum fasteners are used to size and tighten the saddle around the girth of the horse for a secure fit, while two shiny platinum stirrups finish the look.

a quilted white saddle pad with diamond studs
This thick, cushiony pad is used underneath a saddle to provide additional comfort for the horse. A precise crosshatch pattern has been stitched into the pad with white iridescent thread. Small diamonds have been studded into the design at each point where two stitched lines intersect, providing a subtle but captivating effect as the pad shifts with the movement of the horse underneath.

Alteration Helper

Previous work available here.

My personal style leans towards looks and descriptions that are simple but sophisticated. I steer away from overly verbose looks written to use every available character, and favor descriptions that get the idea across in an easy-to-read way (no one wants to have to Google an alteration description). I like to work around themes, such as a common color, gem, or stylistic idea, and enjoy creating whole outfits that work well with each other, especially without the need for tons of alteration fodder.

With all of that being said, I would be happy to work with you on your own alteration ideas whether they fit into my preferred style or not, even if you would just like a "regulations check" to ensure your idea has a fighting chance.

You can contact me on Discord at DantiaDR#3487.

Current Storylines

Srinoja & Kauga

Srinoja, the Gnome Pirate captain of the Hangman's Pursuit, made her first appearance during the Assault on Basalt Isle story arc. 437-04-38 (02/25/2021), Srinoja and her pirates attacked and looted Crossing, and over the next few months also looted Riverhaven, Aesry and Rossman's Landing (where she was seen escaping with gryphon eggs). During these attacks, she is often vocal, but polite, on gweth about her looting activities. At one time, she also brought an exploding device and set it off at the Crossing Empath Guild.

It is generally understood that Srinoja's fleet of pirates have been in contention with House Moglin, who owns a major Rathan shipping fleet, especially Commodore Khoheke Moglin. As House Moglin turned their attentions to the Lich Jeihrem (through the Assault on Basalt Isle story arc), Srinoja saw this as an opportunity to make a deal with Jeihrem to join the fight against House Moglin's ships. Srinoja has publicly stated that she is not okay with Necromancy, but IS okay with someone else using it as long as it helps her out against Moglin. The enemy of my enemy is my friend.

At one point, adventurers met with Srinoja to attempt to negotiate peace, so that they were not fighting both Srinoja and her pirates at the same time they were building to fight the Lich, but her demands were considered too great for Khoheke Moglin to accept, and negotiations failed.

On 438-06-11 (06/18/2021) Kauga, Srinoja's First Mate and the only person alive known to have successfully killed a kraken, was spotted at Guildfest 438 trying to do some supplies shopping. Dantia, Betlind, Ariya and Lasaia spent a good deal of time talking with him, trying to subtly implant the idea that Srinoja was not a very good leader, and that Kauga should be wary of her. The goal was to hopefully make him hesitate in fighting them at a future event. See the log of this interaction below!

On 438-06-23 (06/21/2021) adventurers were called to join in a naval engagement when Commodore Khoheke's flagship, the Oshu'k'et was ambushed by Srinoja and her forces. This battle involved adventurers fighting each other in support of either Khoheke or Srinoja, manning mangonels and rangefinders and commanding elementalists, and fighting off banyakaes. Khoheke's forces were badly outnumbered until the arrival of House Moglin reinforcements, and ships provided by both Zoluren and Therengia, which dramatically turned the tides. In the midst of the battle, the adventurers fighting in support of Khoheke also faced an undead kraken that rose from the depths, and Sivroch, who was plucking adventurers from their boats and tossing them into the sea. Near the end of the battle, Srinoja fired herself out of a mongonel and onto the Oshu'k'et, where she was quickly dispatched. Her body was last seen being carried off by Sivroch toward Basalt Isle.

What was left of Srinoja appeared to make contact with the Empath's guild some time later, and an incredibly disfigured and malformed version of her Gnomish body was paraded before the Basalt Isle defenders at a preparation meeting. It's clear that she is paying dearly, despite her "alliance" with the Lich.

On 438-07-06 (06/27/2021), Kauga was heard on gweth saying he had been taken into captivity by Baron Var'Quel of Hara'Jaal, who was apparently never a fan of Srinoja's. While on gweth he managed to escape captivity. Adventurers rushed to Hara'Jaal to attempt to take him into custody and bring him to Therengia for justice, but they were intercepted by Rathan forces who stormed the Dragon's Slave and apprehended him for themselves. A ship chase ensued, but the Rathans were able to successfully return Kauga to Khoheke Moglin. Pirates are usually immediately put to death, but after consideration for the upcoming Assault, Dantia spoke with Khoheke and proposed that Kauga be given a chance to spare his life by bringing him to the Assault in case we faced another kraken (since he is known as the only person to have ever single handedly kill one). Khoheke agreed, saying that if Kauga fought for our side that he would be given a trial at which that would play heavily in his favor.

At the Assault on Basalt Isle, adventurers did indeed face a kraken while sailing to Basalt Isle. Kauga was brought from his holding cell and successfully fought and killed it. After the Assault, Kauga was returned to Ratha where he was again held under Khoheke. Dantia wrote to Khoheke to remind him of the trial, and encourage that Kauga be sentenced to hard labor as a crewman on one of Khoheke's ships. This would punish Kauga for his activities as a pirate, would keep Kauga under Khoheke's eye in case Srinoja turns up again, and would let Kauga teach Khoheke's crew how to fight a kraken, further securing House Moglin's trading long into the future.

On 440-04-08 (12/14/2021), Kauga again took to the gweth to let people know that Khoheke had been treating him well, and that he had been visited by a Gnome wearing a fake mustache. After a little more digging, it was clear that he had been approached by Srinoja in disguise, but that he had not spoken to her. In private gweths, Dantia advised Kauga that if this Gnome came again, he should alert the Guards, or tell people over gweth so that they could come to him.

Kauga's trial is still pending.

On 440-06-28 (01/08/2022) Srinoja started talking over gweth, publicly and privately to a few people, about things like reality and illusions, and being able to tell the difference between the two. A series of shadows in her form showed up at the Empath guild, where a collection of people tried to interact with it. It disappeared abruptly.

Magic Oddities

438-05-38(ish) (June/July 2021) - People started receiving occasional odd messaging when casting their normal spells. During Hollow Eve 2021, several Merelew Greeters asked adventurers if they had been having these strange feelings, too. The messaging varied, but a few included:

  • Something feels off.
  • Alarmingly, the familiar streams of mana seem shift entirely away from you for a moment.
  • Strangely, the familiar streams of mana seem to jitter out of your control for a moment.
  • As you manipulate the mana streams, you feel like you are falling, and gasp in surprise. The feeling passes.
  • The familiar task is disrupted by a moment of synesthesia. You hear the streams of mana come together as you complete your casting.

Keishalae Returns

438-06-04 (06/16/2021) - At Guildfest 438, adventurers were notified that "something [was] happening in the Imperial Pavilion", the location where alterations were being held for that event. Despite having walked the Starry Road, Keishalae (a fairly popular, but very dead alterer) had somehow returned, and was offering to do alterations at the cost of your death or all of your favors. Her title, race, appearance and clothing had changed, leading to many theories as to what, or who, this now was. Of major note is that she changed from a Human to an Elothean, was now called the "True Sorcerer of the Shrew", and her clothing now featured the iconography of a shrew (this may be a reference to Kerenhappuch). She was also saying things that implied she was controlled by someone or something, such a "I HEARD YOU! I AM TRYING!"

Increased Orc Activity

439-08-20(ish) (September 2021) - At a weekly Therengian meeting, Court Advisor Aaiyaah informed those gathered that Lord Nicoly Rossman, of Rossman's Landing, had sent a missive to Theren Keep to advise about an increase in local orc activity. Kintryn began regular patrols of the area, but has not yet noticed anything out of the ordinary. A small force (including Kintryn, Dantia, Madigan, Kaelie, Mazrian, Remyngton, Delph, Teyl, Zynell, Sothios, and Telamont) has began investigating the area more closely and meeting on an every other week basis to discuss new findings or ideas.

When I was younger, I was named
A generation unafraid
For the heirs to come, be brave
And meet me on the battlefield
Even on the darkest night
I will be your sword and shield, your camouflage
And you will be mine
Echos of the shots ring out
We may be the first to fall
Everything could stay the same or we could change it all
