Adding a new Title

Adding a new title is an easy process.

• go to the Titles article for the category it is in, (such as Survival Titles 1 - note that this is different from the subcategory page eg. Category:Survival 1 Titles)
• Edit the page
• You should see, in the list, something like

{{:SomeTitle}}

{{:SomeOtherTitle}}
|-
...

• Notice a pattern here? Good, add the following

{{:MyNewTitle}}
|-

• Just like the pattern allready suggests. (being sure to replace the word "MyNewTitle" with the actual title you are creating.
• Save the page.
• Scan the page for the red-link to the new title page, and select it to edit it.
• Use the template {{title}} to add in the new title page, (add any special notes below the template in a <noinclude /> section
• See Template:Title for more information on how to enter the title itself.

Title chart bugginess

Whatever changes people are updating the title pages with are causing the charts to not work anymore(e.g. Astrology, criminal titles). I can't figure out exactly what is causing it though to fix it. --Choson 08:29, 17 April 2009 (UTC)

Its something to do with the Title: namespace. I can't figure out how to make it pull the Tile:blahblah field, with Title in front either. Hithrael 14:55, 17 April 2009 (UTC)

Help! This is still not fixed. I added all the title categories to the main page (many were missing, it's confusing to try and combine all the weapon titles, so let's seperate them the same way they're seperated in game. Unfortunately I can't get title charts to work on any of the new pages. (Forgot to sign at the time. Doing so now, a few days late.) --Zeltaen 22:15, 13 July 2009 (UTC)

It looks like the titles that have the namespace 'xxx' instead of 'title:xxx' work properly. If we create new pages for each title with the correct namespace I think that will fix the issue but then someone will have to delete all the duplicate title articles and I'm not sure how to do that. • Lunar Magic skill titles list "must be a Moon Mage" as requirement, despite the Trader magic release.
  • Can you give me example titles to look at? Only "Conjurer" in the PrimaryMagic category has a guild req that I see, and it's intended to be Moon Mage/War Mage only. --DR-ZADRAES (talk) 15:41, 29 September 2021 (CDT)
    • I'm talking about the directly skill-based titles, the ones that exist for all skills. E.g. Elemental Magic Professional lists its requirements as "at least 400 ranks in Guild Magic" and "Must be a Warrior Mage, Bard", while Lunar Magic Professional lists its requirements as "at least 400 ranks in Guild Magic" and "Must be a Moon Mage". Surely the second requirement should be "Must be a Moon Mage, Trader"? ASCADAIHAN (talk) 21:38, 6 October 2021 (CDT)
• Moon Mage title 'Lucky' is listed as requiring having made one prediction, but a newly-rolled Moon Mage still talking to the guildleader can get the title.
  • Leaving this in Pending for now, but I don't think there's a clean way of fixing this at the moment. You technically get credited with 1 prediction when you join the guild -- possibly math somewhere doesn't like a 0, I didn't dive too far. Can't just change the req to 2, because then people will bug that they "only predicted once but it says I need two!". • TITLE FIND NOW does not actually access the TITLE FIND functionality, instead merely spitting out the help messaging for the TITLE verb.
  • This one looks to be an issue with the engine's parsing, and not something we can easily work around. Leaving this in pending for now, but it's likely we have to live with this one. "Of" and "The" are other words that tend to be stripped. --DR-ZADRAES (talk) 15:41, 29 September 2021 (CDT)
• Moon Mage title Enchanter was removed with the release of Enchanting. Possible to get this back as a Lore title based on Enchanting ranks?

Resolved

• Paladin titles that use Soulstate go by SAF, which seems odd.
  • Other guilds may have referenced SAF -- they should all now say 'guild resource' now as a more player-friendly term. It's different for every guild, and has different ranges/meanings for each guild, and there's not an easy way to mass-define this clearly for TITLE FIND. For some guilds, a negative resource (behind the scenes) is good, for others positive is good. Soul State, Divine Outrage, Confidence, Elemental Charge, Shock, Devotion, and Ranger Bonus are some (but not all) guild resource examples. This may just have to be a nebulous thing players piece together with trial and error over time. Sorry! -- DR-ZADRAES (talk) 05:52, 16 June 2021 (CDT)
• Barbarian Mage Bane title says they "Must not know Barbarian ability - (#9)."

• Titles that require a specific number of spells in the Air Manipulation book don't display correctly, output is 'Must have at least 1 spells in the Air Manipulati', example would be Elemental Soldier, Elemental Enforcer, etc.

• Paladin Titles 'Chivalrous Shield', 'Chikuraga Ikamaye', 'Stura Arumiz', and 'Haalik Showldh' have the requirement 'self'?

• Title 'Beast Tamer' requires skill in Unknown

• More just language feedback, for Wild Archer "At least 350 ranks in Highest Distance Weapon" is such a weird way to say Ranged Weapon.

• Own a home. Stuff like Indweller and Lodger shows up on my Premium title list AND I can use it, despite req saying you can't own a home. Checked both in and out of the province where I own it, wondering if it might have worked like Dweller and Denizen (not the case).

• All titles in 'Trader' category that require 'Trading' skill, state 'Guild Skill' instead. I assume it's referring to 'Trading' skill.
  • yeah, this is true of all the guilds — MMs have 'Guild Skill' instead of Astrology, empaths have 'Guild Skill' instead of Empathy, and so on. Ditto 'Guild Magic', that's just PM. —ASCADAIHAN (talk) 15:09, 17 June 2021 (CDT)
  • ^This. The same "skill" exists for everyone, you just see a different name in EXP depending on your guild -- Lunar Magic vs Elemental Magic vs Life Magic, etc. Same for guild skills -- Empathy vs Trading vs Summoning etc. Because everyone can look up everyone else's titles now, we can't easily translate the actual requirement vs who is checking TITLE FIND -- it'd be weird for trader titles to show they require 'Empathy' when an Emapth is checking. • Some titles in 'Religion' category, like 'Follower', have a requirement of 'Must have 4 favors in a row'. Not too clear what that means, unless 4 favors in a row for a particular god.

• Moon Mage titles 'Scion' and 'Shadebringer' are not attainable by a Heritage House member who meets the skill requirements — apparently Heritage House is not valid for the "must have sect" requirement. This might could be clarified.

• Moon Mage title 'Transducer' requires 99 spells from the Enlightened Geometry list. Probably meant to be 9.
  • 9/29/2021: Per Moon Mage folks, this title was meant to be disabled/not usable, and a 99 spell req was how they required it. It's been shifted to our new way of 'disable this title' and should no longer show up in the system.
• There are two sets of requirements for 'Darkness' and one has 4 requirements where the other has none.

• Ranger Title:Arch Hunter vs Title:Arch Huntress has an order of magnitude difference in Scouting required, I would have expected equal values.
  • 9/29/2021: Arch Huntress has had its guild skill req lifted to match Arch Hunter's.
