The Theren family has ruled over Therengia, at first as governor and later as Baron, since 782 BL. Upon dissolving of the Empire of the Seven Pointed Star House Theren assumed the title of Baron and has passed it down patriarchically. While they are the ruling family in Therengia they are also a member of the Great Houses of Therengia and must contend with the political power that those families wield.
