The three major magical disciplines (Moon Mages, Warrior Mages, Clerics) have a long history of travel across dimensions of being, beyond the Plane of Abiding.

"...The Planes had been born, separate and complete, whole unto themselves, and yet, as newborns experience much growth, so did the Planes. The Plane of Exile, the Plane of Abiding and the Plane of Unknowing all did evolve in separate ways, as did all the infinitely numbered Planes."

"There are planes of being beyond ours, but stop and consider what it is like to set foot in a place bound by wholly different natural laws. It may seem sublime to wander through a valley where the air itself glows, until you realize whatever law makes it glow also turns your lungs to ooze. Imagine realms where there is no earth, or no spatial dimensions.

There may be a plane for every possible twist of natural philosophy, or they may be finite and rigidly defined. We do not know and it is likely we will never know. No man is a master of the other planes; anyone who would claim the title is a fool."
