There are fifteen Elothean Houses:

• House of the Glittering Diadem
• House of the Grey Storm
• House of the Ivory Scroll
• House of the Marching Lotus
• House of the Rowan Branch
• House of the Silk Strings
• House of the Silver Star
• House of the Steel Dove
• House of the Verdant Lily
• House of the Waxen Moons

To join a house:
There is a grand list on the top floor of the Houses Consulate near the tower of Greenwalls in Shard. Head up to the top floor, and look for a room with a clerk in it.
The scroll is hanging on the wall. LOOK or READ it, to find out the choices. The WHIPSER SCROLL with the number of your choice.

Note:

• There are currently (as of 7/27/2013) seven houses live/accessible in game. These are: Silver Star, Waxen Moons, Floating Reed, Rowan Branch, Steel Dove, Gilded Longleaf, and Grey Storm.
  
• Houses that are not currently live include: Silk Strings, Verdant Lily, Ivory Scroll, Gentle Lion, All-Seeing Eye, and Glittering Diadem.
  
• Black Fang and Marching Lotus are listed as "dead" houses. They are not and likely will never be accessible in game.
