Brands are Barbarian-specific scar art. So far they have been limited to Barbarians of 100th circle and over that pass a series of challenges testing their mettle and prowess. The Fire and Skin trial by fire event is one such example.

Branded Barbarians

  • Phii's (First Known Branding):
A large hand is branded in the center of your back. Gnarled red scar tissue forms thick fingers spanning across your shoulder blades, a testament to smoldering wounds that look to have been wreaked by an inhuman touch. Centered in the open palm an enraged boar in full charge is depicted in sharply raised scars.
Branded along the corner of his right eye and through his eyebrow is a puckered scar in the shape of a dragon's tail flail. Thinner lines create the trio of interlocking chains that crisscross down his cheek.
Across his back are heavy scars depicting a battle between a huge bear with sharp claws and a fierce wyvern spewing flames. The deeply scored marks of the brand spread out across his shoulders in blackened furrows.
The disfigured flesh on his chest accents the image of a wild, angry boar with dagger-like tusk that stands proudly beside him. The swollen, raised brand spiders down to his abdomen to show three figures. The repulsive witches are surrounded by a dozen of their minions. The word "SAK" is burnt into the flesh of the stomach under the scene.
Permanently blackened flesh creates the brand of a giant scorpion down your left arm. Its tail, slightly curled, rests on the back of your hand, while one huge claw appears to be crushing a small robed figure within its vice-like grasp.
Branded deeply into the flesh, a snarling dragon coils possessively around your muscular torso while stretching a wing across the expanse of your back, and a taloned claw towards your heart.
Waves of angry brown and white scars twine the length of her right arm, covering the flesh from shoulder to wrist in a chaotic maelstrom of artistic scarring. The image of a small Elven child defiantly dragging a greatsword behind her is branded deeply into the unmarked skin at the heart of the whirlwind. Scored grooves left by the edge of her tapered sword trail in the wake of the slight figure, lines terminating in jagged letters that form the word "SHAR" on the inside of her right wrist.
Permanently blackened flesh creates the brand of a giant scorpion down his left arm. Its tail, slightly curled, rests on the back of his hand, while one huge claw appears to be crushing a small robed figure within its vice-like grasp.
Stretching between his shoulders are the wings of a splendid firebird, each plume scared into the flesh to create an intricate pattern. The feathers blend downward into the shape of flames as if spreading hungrily down his back. Where the marks come back together they form the words "Blood for Fire" in irregular angry red lines.
A massive dragon is branded on his back. The arched outstretched wings of the beast span from shoulder to shoulder and are comprised of the black and white scar tissue of branded flesh. A multitude of small precise incisions are carved into the skin to leave a raised pattern of overlapping scales across its body. A torrent of flame is projected from the dragon's open maw, leaving a cone-shaped trail of red blistering flesh across his upper back and over his neck.
The seared figure of a monstrous dire bear with a small bird perched proudly upon its shoulder is branded deeply into the side of his neck. Ragged lines of discolored scar tissue trace a turbulent pattern of savage weaponry and animalistic symbols that encircle the image of the ursine beast and appear to stamped across the shoulder. The marred tracery draws together along the length of his forearm to fashion the words "We Stand Unbroken" in raised ridges of tortured flesh.
A massive bear paw of raised, blackened flesh is branded viciously into her left shoulder. Seared grooves furrow the skin, forming ragged claw marks that rake downward toward the central pad of the pattern. Angry red ridges of scar tissue weave together sinuously, wreathing the design in an infernal conflagration of savage flames that appear to leap down her arm in a descending spiral to scrawl the word "PBBT" on her forearm.
His shoulder has a tattoo of a rended and fleshy wound exposing battered steel and gears rather than bones and sinew.
