I'm not sure on the actual range of teaching, but they're harder than ice archons so I made the range 50 more ranks than archons on both min and max.  Below is my careful appraisal of both.

These are definitely harder than Void Moths, and their magic further increases the difficulty. If you don't have some type of magic avoidance, I think you're going to have a rough time.

ICE ARCHON:

If you attacked with a bastard sword, you are certain that the enemy would train very well, provided you can land a blow.

If you threw the sword at the enemy you are certain that it would train exceptionally well, but you probably won't be landing many blows.

If you defended by parrying attacks, you are certain that the enemy would train very well.

Description

Hunched forward on two immense legs, the ancient bone wyvern towers at a height of over twenty feet, rotting foreclaws drawn and ready to lash outwards at a moment's notice. Its massive dragon-like skull is partially visable beneath a cloak of rotting flesh that precariously clings to its enormous skeletal body, covered in an array of jagged cracks and scratches. Twin tongues of deep purple flame rest in the hollows of its eye sockets, churning in a tempest of unfocused hatred. Gigantic skeletal wings arc outward from its spine-lined back to shadow its rotting form, and both wings are partially draped in a shifting cloak of rotting flesh.

Recall

A unique type of undead, bone wyverns are formed from the corpses of wyverns that are possessed by some sort of evil necromantic magic. Still capable of flight despite their wings being mostly useless, bone wyverns haunt the higher reaches of Wyvern Mountain.

Though bone wyverns lack the hunger that drives normal wyverns, they retain some of their former traits. Notable is their extreme territorialism, which drives them to attack other living creatures that wander into their domain.

It is well known that wyverns will eat anything that moves, including unlucky adventurers. While bone wyverns are skeletal and thus do not eat prey, they will still vengefully rip apart their victims after killing them.

In Depth

Cast very powerful Necromantic spells. Magic goes straight through high rank Barbarian wards. These are very difficult critters... good luck!

This was a one-two combo which put me down in a couple shots after:

Siphon Vitality
A bone wyvern's eyes flare an intense lurid purple as it discharges its necromantic energy.
You sense a spell weaken as it penetrates your protective barrier of inner fire!
You feel disheartened as a spell penetrates your nimble barrier of inner fire!
Leaping from a bone wyvern, an oozing tendril of reddish-black energy snakes towards you!
The tendril bends around your targe and latches onto your chest!
Your chest withers slightly as reddish-black energy crackles from underneath the skin.
You are lightly stunned!
> Blood Burst
A bone wyvern's eyes flare an intense lurid purple as it discharges its necromantic energy.
You sense a spell weaken as it penetrates your protective barrier of inner fire!
Blood suddenly forms up upon the bone wyvern's fingers.
The blood on a bone wyvern's hand seems to burble and shift before it flicks its wrist to send the incarnadine droplets hurtling towards you!
You manage to intercept some of the droplets with your shield.
The droplets explode prematurely into a massive swell of writhing incarnadine flame which then slams full-force into your chest. After the violent cloud passes through, your chest has been seared down to the appearance of a candle far too long lit.
The force of the vile explosives knocks you off your feet!

Special Attacks

Naphtha Breath, Poisoned Tails, Aerial Grapple

Equipment/Loot

Coins and Gems.

Notes (Recently Updated)

These are definitely harder than Void Moths, and their magic further increases the difficulty. If you don't have some type of magic avoidance, I think you're going to have a rough time.

As a 'Tog Barb, my defenses and weapons are nearing cap and this is the comparison:

Void-Black Moth:
>appr moth quick
You are certain that it is not quite as strong as you are.
You are certain that it is about as agile as you are.
You're not sure how disciplined it is.
You are certain that it is not quite as quick to react as you are.
You guess that it is about as conditioned as you are.
Taking stock of its offensive abilities, and defending with a targe and a greatsword, you are certain that the void-black moth is definitely less skilled. (-3)
Taking stock of its defensive abilities, and attacking with a greatsword, you are certain that the void-black moth is a simple opponent. (-6)
