A group of street urchins discovered a wool-lined basket containing a newborn baby girl. They brought this baby back to their hideout and named her Belethe. Under their rough yet loving care, Belethe blossomed into a bright, nimble-fingered urchin. |

She currently lives in a villa on the smart side of Crossing. When asked how she managed to obtain such a grand residence as she is only a young, apprentice empath, Belethe will only chuckle and reply, "With patience." |

Her life changed when she was caught attempting to pickpocket a gentleman's pocket. This man did not throw her to the guards as he had his own agenda. He taught her how to speak properly and act like a lady. He dazzled her mind with images of being accepted as a lady by various noble families and being allowed full access to these families' homes and treasures. |

In time, she was introduced to society as his daughter and she made friends with the rich, young ladies that inhabit this sphere. Working with her "father", they discovered means to access hidden, closely guarded treasures. They made use of this information on many weekend outings held in fashionable country homes. |

During one such weekend outing, a household was awakened by a loud scream. Belethe was discovered in the safe room of the household, drenched in blood and weeping. She confessed to all her crimes and how she had been guided by the man who was not really her father. |

Of the man, there was no sign and Belethe could not bring herself to describe what had occurred that horrible night. |

The people who discovered Belethe were immensely kind people. They chose to take Belethe under their protection. |

Upon adulthood, Belethe announced her intention to become an empath and assist those in need. This would be her penance for her sins in the past, she stated. |

She thanked the family for their care and left their home forever. |

She is standing beside a wide cherrywood window, gazing pensively at some yellow, fuzzy ducks swimming around in a sparkling blue pond. You feel that if you leaned in closer, you might hear quacking.
