Bardic scream

After centuries of isolation, the Ru'atin Peri'el agreed to teach Bards some of what they had preserved of the ancient art of using the voice as both a weapon and a means to focus themselves to accomplish amazing feats. Such an action is not without its price, however. The scream draws from your own inner reserve of strength, and using it without sufficient cause may leave you too drained to use it or other abilities when you truly do need them

With their superior vocal training, Bards are able to focus their voices to do some extraordinary tasks. Bardic Screams are taught by the Guild and provide a variety of tools to aid the Bard in whatever situation they may come across.

Syntax

example: SCREAM HAVOC

Concussive

  • Available upon joining the Bard guild.
  • Basic damage-dealing attack that scales similarly to throwing blades.
  • Teaches Bardic Lore skill, (some) Performance skill, and Melee Mastery skill.
  • 10 second re-use timer.
  • (Buffed) Bardic Lore with a Charisma-based buff (every 5 charisma = 1% bonus) is "attacker's" skill.
  • Weapon template: impact > puncture > slice
    (Middle 'impact' value of havoc/dissonance/concussive.)
  • Can be evaded, cannot be parried, can be shield blocked, Reflex aids defender, armor helps, does damage.
  • If it hits, it does damage using combat's damage-dealing utility, can stun but not a bonused chance.

Havoc

  • Available upon joining the Bard guild.
  • Wave of sound that can unbalance the target or knock them back.
  • Chance of knockdown as well if the target loses too much balance.
  • Teaches Bardic Lore skill, (some) Performance skill, and Melee Mastery skill.
  • 15 second re-use timer.
  • (Buffed) Bardic Lore with a Charisma-based buff (every 5 charisma = 1% bonus) is "attacker's" skill.
  • Weapon template: impact > puncture > slice
    (Weakest 'impact' of havoc/dissonance/concussive.)
  • Can be evaded, cannot be parried, can be shield blocked, Reflex aids the defender, armor doesn't matter and damage isn't done.
  • Inflicts a balance hit based on how successful the 'hit' was.
  • Hits that are strong enough can push back engagement range.
  • Hits that are really strong can knock the target prone.
  • If already at missile range, the intent is for it to do an additional balance hit, but GSL math may be buffing their balance instead?

Defiance

  • Taught at 32nd circle by any Guild Leader.
  • ASK <GUILD LEADER> FOR SCREAM
  • Short duration defense/utility buff that will do the following:
    • Attempts to remove a stun, each pulse, which is random based on charisma (high enough charisma can virtually negate the chance to fail)
    • Helps the Bard maintain a minimum of solid balance if not completely prone in combat.
    • Reduces incoming damage by both a percentage and a flat amount (can reduce incoming damage to 0), based on the bard's mojo.
  • The duration of the ability is based on Performance skill.
  • Can be used while stunned, webbed, or otherwise immobile.
  • You will no longer go hoarse from use but you will lose Mojo, and thus effectiveness.
  • No justice check for disturbing the peace.
  • Requires and uses Bardic Mojo
  • Teaches only Bardic Lore skill.
  • 70 second re-use timer for experience yield.
  • Initial: (Buffed) Charisma is contested against a 1-100 random to determine if you break the stun or not.
  • Pulses: Similar contest, but not as in-your-favor as the initial one.
  • Gets a barrier-like effect to reduce incoming damage for a time -- both a % reduction based on your mojo and then a cap that effectively eliminates low-level damage.

Dissonance

  • (Buffed) Bardic Lore with a Charisma-based buff (every 5 charisma = 1% bonus) is "attacker's" skill.
  • Weapon template: impact > puncture > slice
    (Strongest 'impact' of havoc/dissonance/concussive.)
  • Can be evaded, cannot be parried, can be shield blocked, reflex assists defender, armor helps, damage is done
  • If it hits, it does damage using combat's damage-dealing utility and has a bonused chance to stun the target
  • 20 second re-use timer.
