| Look: | Pieces of bone have been assembled to form a protective mask for a horse. The chanfron is surmounted by two upthrust horns to give its wearer a savage, exotic look. The leather and fabric have been dyed a deep blood-red, and the bones and horns streaked with red stain before being sealed with shellac, causing the barding to resemble butchered flesh. |
