Wife of the late Prince Vorclaf of Zoluren and youngest daughter of the Merelew King Galpelus and Queen Unavia of Andreshlew. Has one sister named Amythiel.
Was turned into an Elf by her nanny Makeraru after she fell in love with Prince Vorclaf, who had washed up to Andreshlew and was nursed back to health there after being thrown overboard in the Reshal Sea by Aedem and his band of pirates. Henchmen of the nanny-sorceress, Tanudraug, Marthak and Enajah were sent to look for the Princess, who by this time had been taken in to the Keep, having no memory of who she was. The henchmen were suspicious because of their strange habits, such as guzzling large quantities of water and in some cases pouring them over themselves. Around this same time, Arilana, Lindryl and Jinxes were kidnapped by pirates and were first on Kendyll's Ornery Wench before being transferred to the Sea Devil, which belongs to Molphant.
In 382AV, Vorclaf married Princess Arilana on Andreshlew, then took her back to Zoluren, where she now rules as Regent after her husband's death.
Prior to the birth of the twins, Arilana had two earlier pregnancies.
The first baby delivered at nearly 7 months was stillborn, she was named Rose. While it has been hinted by some that Arilana was poisoned by her then lady's maid, Alrina, it should be noted that Elves have a remarkably difficult time with pregnancy and it is not uncommon that there would be difficulties and losses.
A year or so later, Arilana was assassinated by Enef shortly after the announcement of her second pregnancy. Some believe that this event contributed to the decision to lead an assault by the Zoluren militia on the local Thieves' Guild.
In 391AV, the Princess Arilana gave birth to fraternal twins. The first born, Princess Inavia, was named after Arilana's mother, followed by a boy, Prince Belirendrick IV, who was named after Vorclaf's father. When asked, Princess Arilana replied that both children resemble their father.
