But... it isn't mathmatically possible. Tier is determined by what % that item is to its profile maximum (or what % above it in the case of Tier 7 and 8). We'd have to write a new formula just for armor, and that doesn't make sense given that I hope to mod the system someday :/<br />

I'm going to look into shields and see if we perhaps could get some higher tier shields without a major rewrite...<br />
