	The theorbo is a shallow-bellied stringed instrument with a teardrop-shaped body and an overlong neck that supports twelve courses of strings. The first set of strings extends fully twice as far as the second, anchored in a curved pegbox fitted securely onto a straight arm extending from the lower pegbox. The dragonwood on the face of the instrument has been polished and smoothed, and the scale-like grain of the wood traced with thin skeins of aldamdin, giving even more of a contrast to the dual bogbirch pegboxes. Within the upper pegbox, several small darkstone tuning pegs have been placed while the lower, larger pegbox has orichalcum tuning pegs.
