	Instruments are the primary way which all players learn and use the [[performance]] skill. While some can be played alone, many others require a tool in order to use correctly. Ownership of an instrument can also allow a user to practice the [[appraisal]] skill by utilizing the {{com\|ASSESS}} command to see greater details about it. While only [[Bards]] and [[Traders]] are able to get all the information about an instrument through {{com\|ASSESS}}, any member of any guild can get basic knowledge.
