&lt;div&gt;Lover of fire and rum, and everything fun.  Primal Lady Zalinyar Braunroth, Burning Fist of Damaris, an Elven Warrior Mage, has  pointed ears, silver-flecked violet eyes and dimples.  Her silver-gilt-streaked silver hair is very long and wavy, and is worn loose.   She has fair skin and a lithe figure. She appears to be young. She has  a tattoo of a winged heart surrounded by flames on her back.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Specktra, or Speck, her leopard is her favored familiar. A smokey grey leopard with hypnotic crimson eyes and flecks of ashes on her fur appears, lands, and glances up at you expectantly. An array of golden and umber colored spots blend into each other across the feline&#039;s glorious body, reminiscent of a smoldering fire.  She paws at the ground restlessly for a moment, eager to hunt. You find the creature to be a magnificent specimen.  There is a soft aura about it and you notice the eyes stare back with a nature which hints at intelligence. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Eschole, a dapple grey horse that stands eighteen hands high with a light grey coat mottled with darker spots on the hindquarters.  It has a black mane and tail.  It is a gelding and has a white mark on the left hind leg extending from the coronet to the hock. Her trusted steed and jousting partner.&lt;br /&gt;

A small dragon charm: LOOK Light glints off the dragon&#039;s diamond-chip eyes, making him look like he is winking at you. This charm was enchanted by THE witch at a Hallow&#039;s Eve festival, in which Zalinyar traded her life for what the charm produces. You loop the dragon charm through a serpentine series of gestures.  A glass goblet of darkefire rum with silver varked flames appears in your left hand!Antiqued silver gilting is wrapped around the base of the goblet stylized into curling flames that rise along the stem and surround the dark glass bowl.  Crushed dried pepper flakes are bound to the honey dipped rim.You take a sip of the rum.  Mmm! The silky smooth blend of smoke and exotic spice wraps around your tongue like a flame in a slow dance as you sip your dark rum. Sweet honey helps to soothe the heat of pepper on your lips.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
A sooty badge marked &amp;quot;Keep it up and you&#039;ll become the next body in my basement&amp;quot; that you are wearing. LOOK: Sooty fingerprints across the face of the blackened steel badge suggest its favored status.  Flecks of ash highlight the etched warning, while a small pin affixed to the back of the badge allows it to be worn.&lt;br /&gt;

In the beginning: &lt;br /&gt;

Zalinyar was born to parents enslaved to the Queen. Her father, working in the stables, was ushered a quick death for providing a lame horse to her majesty&#039;s patrol; her mother, serving in the royal Princesses&#039; rooms as a what the elven call nursemaid, heard of the horrid death of her husband and in fear of her infant daughters life and knowing her husbands fate, begged the princess whom she served to spare the life of her only child.  Amidst the chaos of the war, the princess agreed to help sneak the elven servant and her infant daughter out of the mountains. They left in the dead of night, staying within the shadows they followed the track to the gondola where they boarded and hid beneath the windows. The babe started to cry. Both mother and princess hushed her, praying to the Thirteen to reach the far side of the chasm unoticed. When the gondola bumped to it&#039;s landing, the babe&#039;s mother, with tears streaming down her face, kissed the baby a farewell and handed her off to a halfling farmer&#039;s wife who promised her wellbeing. Coins were slipped through the Princess&#039; fingers to the farm wife. Silently, the Princess held Zalinyars mother as she wept, royalty and  servant locked together in a moment of mournful unity. The gondola began it&#039;s return to the southern side.... and all you hear now is a ghostly wail. You may see the spirit of the princess, but Zalinyar&#039;s mother was taken to the Starry Road that day.  &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
In the distant past&lt;br /&gt;
 Zalinyar, now known as Zali left the farmers home with a kiss upon the halfling woman&#039;s cheek and a promise that she would someday be someone in the world as she set out into the unknown. She wandered north. She came unto Crossing Town, the Crossing it is called in these days, she is told. She set out on her own, with not a friend in the world, save a young urban ranger which she met on the ferry across the river who kindly paid for her toll since she didn&#039;t have a copper to her name. Ajathaer took her under his wing, and introduced her to his friends in Crossing. Little did she know.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
In the near distant past:&lt;br /&gt;
 Zalinyar was adopted into a band of urban rangers, and she loved her life. She was learing how to hunt, skin, kill, stalk and steal. They introduced her to fun and rum. She quite quickly fell in love with Ajathaer and bonded with him. He took her to a circus where she was awed by those juggling fire. She wanted to do fire juggling, and practiced at every opportunity. She learned that she would have much better control over fire, were she to join the Warrior Mage Guild, so she did, and she advanced quickly. Rubare was her best friend, referring to her as Princess, because she had an affinity to pretty dresses. He bestowed upon her a golden crown, that she wears occasionally to this day. &lt;br /&gt;
  Zalinyar was out hunting one day, working on her skinning skills. A voice came to her from the trees, declaring himself Damaris. The voice said he was displeased with her choice in asking for favors. As a Warrior Mage, Meraud was her natural choice. She has henseforth to this day, sent every favor to Damaris. Hearing his voice from the trees touched her heart, and her mind and perhaps darkened them both.&lt;br /&gt;
  Time passed. &lt;br /&gt;
  One day, Ajathaer forced her at the point of a blade to sever their bond. Later she was told that her life was being threatened and he was only trying to protect her, How in love with him she was, yet she obediantly cut the bond. Feeling slighted, she hired a troup of dwarven miners to collapse the mine he was working in, where he was entombed. She slept for about six years after that loss.&lt;br /&gt;
  Zalinyar woke to the world of chaos in another war. As a young warrior mage, she hid behind the robes of her guild leader, and ran to drag her dead friends to the triage points. Back and forth she ran, as every time she tried to fight, she was slain.  She did not like having to run out in the midst of enemies to dig a grave, so she deined to not die. She began watching, and waiting for the ebbs and flows of the invasions. She would run out, cast a few quick spells, and grab a body and drag it to the triage unit. This war lasted far too long. &lt;br /&gt;
  During these battles, she met Crupikte. She called him Crupcake, and that made him uncomfortable amongst his paladin friends but with her playful manner, it didn&#039;t matter. They bonded, and it was a short togetherness. Crupikte accused her of consorting with a necromancer, because she had played a game of knucklebones with Agalea, a cleric, who was a known consort of Zeheria a very known necromancer of our time. As a matter of fact, Zeheria actucally brought Crupikte and I a very lovely Glaes wedding gift, it ticked for a few moments, before it blew up and killed nearly every single wedding guest. &lt;br /&gt;
  Needless to say, the marriage was a bust, the reception a bang. Crupikte took his new wife north, and attempted to introduce her into the polite society of the Therengian Court. It is unknown whether her upbringing, or her rebellious youthful attitude that caused her undoing at that first audience with His Grace. She waited in line on the rope bridge, just like the hundreds of others who wished to attend the Baron&#039;s court.  When Zalinyar approached the gates of the keep, she was denied admittance, as the time had come and gone for public entry. Zalinyar took high offense, as she was the wife of one of the Barons Guard, and demanded entry. She explained that her husband, Guardsman and member of the Court was inside, and she was delayed because of the bridge. Again she was denied entrance. She then ripped off her twelve thousand kronar ballgown, lit it on fire and attempted to start the gates of the keep on fire. She rallied the crowd and started a riot at the gates. When the guards were sent out, she thankfully avoided arrest. Later that evening, she also happily handed Crupikte his annulment. She was not one to be ruled by the Paladin, nor watch him falsify his Code.&lt;br /&gt;
   Time passed and again, she slept. She woke, resumed her training, formed new bonds with new friends, and found the Tavern Troupe. She joined, and had the time of her young life performing fire dances in the circus, climbing chimneys and flying with her dragon wings, making up stories about how those wings were procured, and singing songs of loss, longing, and joyous trysts. Zalinyar loved her time in the Tavern Troupe, as she was able to express herself in a way that made her heart sing. There came an event upon a Hallowed Eve, Spooky stories. Zalinyar was overly tired, and should have gone home to sleep but instead stayed to support her troup. One member was telling a story, a very long story, and she fell asleep. She will regret that for all of eternity. For when she woke, the crowd gathered was applauding, and she blinked sleepily, applauded, and made the mistake of saying &amp;quot;I fell asleep, but what I heard of your story was wonderful!&amp;quot; The Tavern Troup (at this point I should not include the entire troup but a select few, I shall withold their names, for sake of grace) then labeled her a bully, and mean. They banned her from their gatherings after that, and she wept, as she did not understand why being too sleepy made her a bad person. The Troupe took her membership, and to this day, Zali is banned, per request of the Speaker of the Order. Politely she stays away, lest ****** and many other nameless try to drag her out if she shows up to a Tavern Troupe Event. Though this is a very painful and aching hurt that she endures, the strength she gained from the experience helped her learn to bury pain. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Chapter next. &lt;br /&gt;
   Zali decided to take another long nap after that very unfortunate incident with the Tavern Troupe, as her heart was already fragile, having suffered the loss of her first and second spouses. A time passed and she woke to a load of strangers and none familiar to her, she began to feel lonely and decided to do something about it. She came to host games of chance at the Town Greene in Crossing. Games of Guess were her favorite, though she hosted a plentitude of games. She would spend hours in hunting to earn coin only to award the winners of her games. She was hosting a game of Guess when she met Greydok. The two war mages quickly formed a bond, and were inseperable. Then there was the ... &lt;br /&gt;
  After Greydok, and what she went through, Zalinyar again mourned her loss and slept. This sleep was not restful, as she had dreams of war and invasion that woke her just a short time later.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Chapter two of Next&lt;br /&gt;
  Zalinyar was recruited to join the Order of the Dragon Shield, based in Riverhaven where she lives. She was quickly asked to join the council, and head up events. Zalinyar swore fealty to Baron Gyfford, and begged forgivness for her long ago deed of burning and rioting. She enjoyed nigh on two years of this adopted family.  The Speaker at the time, trained her in leadership and event submission and the innerworkings of the Order. Soon after, the speaker and her husband retired, and left the Order to the hands of the Council. Zalinyar was elected to be the vice speaker, and she accepted this new role with enthusiasm and hope. One accomplishment she is particularly proud of during her tenure with the Order of the Dragon Shield, was working with the Locksmith Union on a box raffle in memory of a lost friend who was a member of both the Order and the Union. She made and kept several friends in the Union.  &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Three of the next and, next to last&lt;br /&gt;
  Bad things happened, and Zalinyar left the Order of the Dragon Shield broken hearted and feeling utterly defeated. She once again considered a long sleep, but decided that she wouldn&#039;t let the feeling of failure ruin her existence. After having been ostracized by the Order of the Dragon Shield, and while attempting to maintain her friendships with those who remained, she formed a jousting club, and took over the duties of the World Jousting Tournament. This was a huge and messy thing she took on. She adjusted tiers, and bought all the prizes for the first year with a few donations added to her personal funds. Funding quickly became no problem as many donated so prizes could be bought during festivals. With the support of her best friend Kaelie, and new friends Leayne, Crobin, and Sonatina, the tournament was successful. In leaving her Dragon Shield past behind she marched forward with a new banner, that of the Heart and Helm Jousting Club. You will often see her rub a badge she wears that says &amp;quot;Keep it up and you&#039;ll become the next body in my basement&amp;quot;. Though she does not actually keep bodies in her basement, the threat is there and those who know better, take heed. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The nearest past&lt;br /&gt;
  Zalinyar started noticing that Baron Gyfford did not make a regular audience with the public. She noticed that a lot of the Court became unavailable to attend to their constituants. She began puzzling over mysteries, missing artifacts and the behavior of the Paladins with their secrets and cover ups. With her love of books, tomes and dusty musty libraries, she noticed that there were Paladin Libraries that were locked, and her smithing lacked the skills to open the doors. Zalinyar became perplexed by the secrets the Paladin Council was hiding. She discussed these matters with Gwenddolyn and spent hours researching. In attending one of Gwend&#039;s meetings about lost and old books, she met Vaddon, a squire who served the Emerald Knights, and patroled Corik&#039;s Wall. &lt;br /&gt;
  At said event, Zalinyar began to question the location of Highhold, and other parts of the history of the area, and it caught Vaddons attention. Vaddon and Zalinyar quickly became friends, spending time together hunting for lost artifacts, and sneezing through the dust in libraries reading old tomes searching for clues. They became close and soon they kissed a rose and were bonded to what ever future adventures lead them. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The Now&lt;br /&gt;
  Zalinyar and Vaddon tend to squabble about silly things like the time she tried to pick the Barons bedroom door lock when she wanted to check and see if he was laying dead in his bed, or trying to free the pair of lovebirds kept caged in the keep, and who will bring the brockett deer home for dinner. Vaddon is a far better cook, as Zalinyar tends to burn things. Over all, she&#039;s not shown him the backside of the basement door, and he takes his armor off before bed. The two are enjoying the life of newlyweds. Zalinyar still probes for the truth of the Paladin guild, and often takes advatage of her new spouses willingness to please by making him take her to paladin guild halls, and taking her for walks in the forrest that should contain the ancient High Hold fortress. &lt;br /&gt;
  Ever an inquiring mind, Vaddon takes her, and shows her and she can never see what is right in front of her eyes, no matter what spell she cast. Having been hurt so many times in her past, she has a hard time with him. She shows him her best side one day, and worst the next. How he continues to stand, stalwart at her side remains a mystery. Here here to Paladins.TO HER paladin.  And to the War Mage that does not keep him in the basement. (If I&#039;m being honest here, for all to read.  I don&#039;t actuallly have a basememt full of Paladin bones, though Zali wishes it were true, it is not.) Many rumors have been started about the Magess, and some she chooses to admit to, though it does her reputation no good. Most are untruths. At the end of the day, Vaddon pats her on the back, and rubs her shoulders until she remembers. &lt;br /&gt;
The After Now&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Zalinyar wants nothing but peace in her life. She has chosen a path in the purity of elemental Guild Magic, though there are many others available to her. She often wonders which of her guild brethren will be the next Lyras with all of the new spells available to them.  Zalinyar attempts to be strong and upholding, though one may never know her mood, and what that may bring to the Baron&#039;s table. &lt;br /&gt;

Soon after, the speaker and her husband retired, and left the Order to the hands of the Council. Zalinyar was elected to be the vice speaker, and she accepted this new role with enthusiasm and hope. Bad things happened, and Zalinyar left the Order of the Dragon Shield broken hearted and feeling utterly defeated. She once again considered a long sleep, but decided that she wouldn&#039;t let the feeling of failure ruin her existence. &lt;br /&gt;

This was a huge and messy thing she too in. She adjusted tiers, and bought all the prizes for the first year with a few donations added to her personal funds. Funding quickly became no problem as many donated so prizes could be bought during festivals. In leaving her Dragon Shield past behind she marched forward with a new banner, thant of the Heart and Helm Jousting Club. YOu will often see her rub a badge she wears that says &amp;quot;Keep it up and you&#039;ll become the next body in my basement&amp;quot;. THough she does not actually keep bodies in her basement, the threat is there and those who know better, should take heed. &lt;br /&gt;

  Zalinyar started noticing that Baron Gyfford did not make a regular audience with the public. She noticed that a lot of the Court became unavailable to attend to their constituants. With her love of books, tomes and dusty musty libraries, she noticed that there were Paladin Libraries that were locked, and her smithing lacked the skills to open the doors, and desks locked. Zalinay became perplexed by the secrets the Paladin Council was hiding. In one of her meetings about lost and old books, she met Vaddon, a squire who served the Emerald Knights, and patroled Corik&#039;s Wall. &lt;br /&gt;
  At said event, Zalinyar began to question the location of Highhold, and other parts of the history of the area, and it caught Vaddons attention. When she would leave the Darkfist, he would follow with questions. Vaddon and Zalinyar quickly became friends,  and soon after they kissed a rose and were bonded to what ever future adventures lead them. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The Now&lt;br /&gt;
  Zalinyar and Vaddon tend to squabble about silly things like when she tried to pick the Barons bedroom door lock when she wanted to check and see if he was laying dead in his bed, and who will bring the brockett deer home for dinner. But over all, shes not shown him the backside of the basement door, and he takes his armor off before bed. The two are enjoying the life of newlyweds. Zalinyar still probes for the truth of the Paladin guild, and often takes advatage of her new spouses willingness to please by making him take her to paladin guild halls, and taking her for walks in the forrest that should contain the ancient High Hold fortress. &lt;br /&gt;
  Ever an inquiring mind, Vaddon takes her, and shows her and she can never see what should be right in front of her eyes, no matter what spell she cast. Having been hurt so many times in her past, she has a hard time with him. She shows him her best side one day, and worst the next. How he continues to stand, stalwart at her side remains a mystery. Her father, working in the stables, was ushered a quick death for providing a lame horse to her majesty&#039;s patrol; her mother, serving in the royal Princesses&#039; rooms as a what the elven call nursemaid, heard of the horrid death of her husband and in fear of her infant daughters life and knowing her husbands fate, begged the princess whom she served to spare the life of her only child.  Amidst the chaos of the war, the princess agreed to help sneak the elven servant and her infant daughter out of the mountains. They left in the dead of night, staying within the shadows they followed the track to the gondola where they boarded and hid beneath the windows. The babe started to cry. Both mother and princess hushed her, praying to the Thirteen to reach the far side of the chasm unoticed. When the gondola bumped to it&#039;s landing, the babe&#039;s mother, with tears streaming down her face, kissed the baby a farewell and handed her off to a halfling farmer&#039;s wife who promised her wellbeing. Coins were slipped through the Princess&#039; fingers to the farm wife. Silently, the Princess held Zalinyars mother as she wept, royalty and  servant locked together in a moment of unity. The gondola began it&#039;s return to the southern side.... and all you hear now is a ghostly wail. You may see the spirit of the princess, but Zalinyar&#039;s mother was taken to the Starry Road that day.  &lt;br /&gt;

  Zalinyar, now known as Zali left the farmers home with a kiss upon the halfling woman&#039;s cheek and a promise that she would someday be someone in the world as she set out into the unknown world. She wandered north. She came unto Crossing Town, the Crossing it is called in these days, she is told. She sets out on her own, with not a friend in the world, save a young urban ranger which she met on the ferry across the river who kindly paid for her crossing since she didn&#039;t have a copper to her name. Ajathaer took her under his wing, and introduced her to his friends in Crossing. Little did she know.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
In the near distant past:&lt;br /&gt;
 Zalinyar was adopted into a band of urban rangers, and she loved her life. She was taked learing how to hunt, skin, kill, stalk and steal. They introduced her to fun and rum. She quite quickly fell in love with Ajathaer and bonded with him. He took her to a circus where she was in awe of those juggling fire. She wanted to do fire juggling, and practiced at every opportunity. She learned that she would have much better control over fire, were she to join the Warrior Mage Guild, so she did, and she advanced quickly. Rubare was her best friend, referring to her as Princess, because she had an affinity to pretty dresses. He bestowed upon her a golden crown, that she wears occasionally to this day. &lt;br /&gt;
  Zalinyar was out hunting one day, working on her skinning skills. A voice came to her from the trees, declaring himself Damaris. The voice said he was displeased with her choice in asking for favors. As a Warrior Mage, Meraud was her natural choice. She has henseforth to this day, sent every favor to Damaris. Hearing his voice from the trees touched her heart, and her mind and perhaps darkened them both.&lt;br /&gt;
  Time passed. &lt;br /&gt;
  One day, Ajathaer forced her at the point of a blade to cut their bond. Later she was told that her life was being threatened and he was only trying to protect her, How in love with him she was, yet she obediantly cut the bond. She slept for about six years after that loss.&lt;br /&gt;
  Zalinyar woke to the world of chaos in another war. As a young warrior mage, she hid behind the robes of her guild leader, and ran to drag her dead friends to the triage point. Back and forth she ran, as every time she tried to fight, she was slain.  She did not like having to run out in the midst of enemies to dig a grave, so she deined to not die. She began watching, and waiting for the ebbs and flows of the invasions. She would run out, cast a few quick spells, and grab a body and drag it to the triage unit. This war lasted far too long. &lt;br /&gt;
  During these battles, she met Crupikte. She called him Crupcake, and that made him uncomfortable amongst his paladin friends but with her playful manner, it didn&#039;t matter. They bonded, and it was a short togetherness. Crupikte accused her of consorting with a necromancer, because she had played a game of knucklebones with Agalea, a cleric, who was a known consort of Zeheria a very known necromancer of our time. As a matter of fact, Zeheria actucally brought Crupikte and I a very lovely Glaes wedding gift, it ticked for a few moments, before it blew up and killed nearly every single wedding guest. &lt;br /&gt;
 Needless to say, the marriage was a bust, the reception a bang. Crupikte took his new wife north, and attempted to introduce her into Therengian Court Society. It is unknown whether her upbringing, or her rebellious youthful attitude that caused her undoing at that first audience with His Grace. She waited in line on the rope bridge, just like the hundreds of others who wished to attend the Baron&#039;s court.  When Zalinyar approached the gates of the keep, she was denied admittance, as the time had come and gone for public entry. Zalinyar took offense, as she was the wife of one of the Barons Guard, and demanded entry. She explained that her husband, Guardsman and member of the Court was inside, and she was delayed because of the bridge. Again she was denied entrance. She then ripped off her twelve thousand kronar ballgown, lit it on fire and attempted to start the gates of the keep on fire. When the guards were sent out, she thankfully avoided arrest. Later that evening, she also happily handed Crupikte his annulment. She was not one to be ruled by the Paladin, or watching him falsify his Code.&lt;br /&gt;

  During these battles, she met Crupikte. She called him Crupcake, and that made him uncomfortable amongst his paladin friends but with her playful manner, it didn&#039;t matter. They bonded, and it was a short togetherness. Crupikte accused her of consorting with a necromancer, because she had played a game of knucklebones with Agalea, a cleric, who was a known consort of Zeheria a very known necromancer of our time. As a matter of fact, Zeheria actucally brought Crupikte and I a very lovely Glaes wedding gift, it ticked for a few moments, before it blew up and killed nearly every single wedding guest. &lt;br /&gt;
 Needless to say, the marriage was a bust, the reception a bang. Crupikte took his new wife north, and attempted to introduce her into Therengian Court Society. It is unknown whether her upbringing, or her rebellious youthful attitude that caused her undoing at that first audience with His Grace. She waited in line on the rope bridge, just like the hundreds of others who wished to attend the Baron&#039;s court.  When Zalinyar approached the gates of the keep, she was denied admittance, as the time had come and gone for public entry. Zalinyar took offense, as she was the wife of one of the Barons Guard, and demanded entry. She explained that her husband, Guardsman and member of the Court was inside, and she was delayed because of the bridge. Again she was denied entrance. She then ripped off her twelve thousand kronar ballgown, lit it on fire and attempted to start the gates of the keep on fire. When the guards were sent out, she thankfully avoided arrest. Later that evening, she also happily handed Crupikte his annulment. She was not one to be ruled by the Paladin, or watching him falsify his Code.&lt;br /&gt;
   Time passed again, she slept. She woke, resumed her training, formed new bonds with new friends, and found the Tavern Troupe. She joined, and had the time of her young life performing fire dances in the circus, climbing chimneys and flying with her dragon wings, making up stories about how those wings were procured, and singing songs of loss, longing, and joyous trysts. Zalinyar loved her time in the Tavern Troupe, as she was able to express herself in a way that made her heart sing. There came an event upon a Hallowed Eve, Spooky stories. Zakinyar was overly tired, and should have gone home to sleep but instead stayed to support her troup. One member was telling a story, a very long story, and she fell asleep. She will regret that for all of eternity. For when she woke, the crowd gathered was applauding, and she blinked sleepily, applauded, and made the mistake of saying &amp;quot;I fell asleep, but what I heard of your story was wonderful!&amp;quot; The Tavern Troup (at this point I should not include the entire troup but a select few, I shall withold their names, for sake of grace) then labeled her a bully, and mean. They banned her from their gatherings after that, and she wept, and did not understand why being too sleepy made her a bad person. The Troupe took her membership, and to this day, Zali is banned, per request of the Speaker of the Order. Politely she stays away, lest ****** and many try to drag her out if she shows up to a Tavern Troupe Event. Though this is a very painful and aching hurt that she endures, the strength she gained from the experience helped her learn to bury hurt. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Chapter next. &lt;br /&gt;
   Zali decided to take another long nap after that very unfortunate incident with the Tavern Troupe, as her heart was already fragile, having suffered the loss of her first and second spouses. A time passed and she woke. Waking to a load of strangers and none familiar to her, she began to feel lonely and decided to do something about it. She came to host games of chance at the Town Greene in Crossing. Games of Guess were her favorite, though she hosted a plentitude of games. She was hosting a game of Guess when she met Greydok. The two war mages quickly formed a bond, and were inseperable. Then there was the ... &lt;br /&gt;
  After Greydok, and what she went through, Zalinyar again mourned her loss and slept. This sleep was not restful, as she had dreams of war and invasion that eventually woke her.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Chapter two of Next&lt;br /&gt;
  Zalinyar was recruited to join the Order of the Dragon Shield, based in Riverhaven where she lives. She was quickly asked to join the council, and head up events. Zalinyar swore fealty to Baron Gyfford. She enjoyed nigh on two years of this adopted family.  The Speaker at the time, trained her in leadership and event submission and the innerworkings of the Order. Soon after, the speaker and her husband retired, and left the Order to the hands of the Council. Zalinyar was elected to be the vice speaker, and she accepted this new role with enthusiasm and hope. Bad things happened, and Zalinyar left the Order of the Dragon Shield broken hearted and feeling utterly defeated. She once again considered a long sleep, but decided that she wouldn&#039;t let the feeling of failure ruin her existence. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Three of the next and, next to last&lt;br /&gt;
  After having been ostracized by the Order of the Dragon Shield, and while attempting to maintain her friendships with those who remained, she formed a jousting club, and took over the duties of the World Jousting Tournament. This was a huge and messy thing she too in. She adjusted tiers, and bought all the prizes for the first year with a few donations added to her personal funds. Funding quickly became no problem as many donated so prizes could be bought during festivals. In leaving her Dragon Shield past behind she marched forward with a new banner, thant of the Heart and Helm Jousting Club. YOu will often see her rub a badge she wears that says &amp;quot;Keep it up and you&#039;ll become the next body in my basement&amp;quot;. THough she does not actually keep bodies in her basement, the threat is there and those who know better, should take heed. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The nearest past&lt;br /&gt;
  Zalinyar started noticing that Baron Gyfford did not make a regular audience with the public. She noticed that a lot of the Court became unavailable to attend to their constituants. With her love of books, tomes and dusty musty libraries, she noticed that there were Paladin Libraries that were locked, and her smithing lacked the skills to open the doors, and desks locked. Zalinay became perplexed by the secrets the Paladin Council was hiding. In one of her meetings about lost and old books, she met Vaddon, a squire who served the Emerald Knights, and patroled Corik&#039;s Wall. &lt;br /&gt;
  At said event, Zalinyar began to question the location of Highhold, and other parts of the history of the area, and it caught Vaddons attention. When she would leave the Darkfist, he would follow with questions. Vaddon and Zalinyar quickly became friends,  and soon after they kissed a rose and were bonded to what ever future adventures lead them. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The Now&lt;br /&gt;
  Zalinyar and Vaddon tend to squabble about silly things like when she tried to pick the Barons bedroom door lock when she wanted to check and see if he was laying dead in his bed, and who will bring the brockett deer home for dinner. But over all, shes not shown him the backside of the basement door, and he takes his armor off before bed. The two are enjoying the life of newlyweds. Zalinyar still probes for the truth of the Paladin guild, and often takes advatage of her new spouses willingness to please by making him take her to paladin guild halls, and taking her for walks in the forrest that should contain the ancient High Hold fortress. &lt;br /&gt;
  Ever an inquiring mind, Vaddon takes her, and shows her and she can never see what should be right in front of her eyes, no matter what spell she cast. Having been hurt so many times in her past, she has a hard time with him. She shows him her best side one day, and worst the next. How he continues to stand, stalwart at her side remains a mystery. Here here to Paladins.  And to the War Mage that does not keep them in hte basement. &lt;br /&gt;

SimuCon is the annual Simutronics convention held in St. Louis, Missouri.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The first SimuCon was in 1990, several years prior to DragonRealms&#039; creation, and it was actually called GemCon (for Simutronics biggest game of the time [[GemStone]]).&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The next SimuCon was in 1997 and was called SimuCon II.  After that all SimuCons were named by the year they were held from SimuCon &#039;98 through SimuCon 2007, though no SimuCon was held in 2006.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
In 1999 a large number of players, led by GameMaster Treveri, started a player-run DragonRealms convention in Las Vegas called [[VegasCon]].  The first VegasCon was coincidentally scheduled the same weekend as a similar GemStone meeting in Las Vegas.  After 1999 all VegasCons have been planned with both DragonRealms and GemStone at the same location.&lt;br /&gt;

On March 26th, 2020, it was announced that SimuCon 2020 was canceled.&lt;br /&gt;

We&#039;ve gone ahead and made the very difficult decision to cancel SimuCon this year.  I know it&#039;s a long way off still, but we feel it&#039;s  the best thing to do for our playerbase and everyone&#039;s families and friends.  We&#039;re giving you as much advanced notice as possible so you can do what you need to do with any resources you may have devoted to SimuCon, like airfare or hotel reservations or vacation time. &lt;br /&gt;

We&#039;re still going to offer non-attendee goodie bags (the in-game swag) and put the funds raised from that into the budget for SimuCon 2021.  In addition, we&#039;re looking at how we can livestream some events, like round table discussion and the State of Elanthia. We, proud citizens of Elanthia, chose to found this Order of the Dragon Shield for the following reasons and purpose;&amp;lt;br /&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;

In the beginning there was just a dream, a small glint in the eyes of a few. Behind it all was such enthusiasm and determination that a spark was born. From that spark a fire was lit, and from that fire a forge was built. From our forge a shield was struck. With this shield Elanthia we&#039;ll defend.&amp;lt;br /&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;lt;br /&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
To all those who wish to be heard and seen as an equal, to all those who seek to be part of principal better than themselves as an individual, to all those who seek to bring honor to their guild, and to all those who seek not the privilege of power but the providence of truth, here is your home!&amp;lt;br /&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;

This is what we seek as a unified body of spirits who have amiable hearts. We are determined to rise up and ennoble those that are humble, empower those who are powerless, and defend the defenseless. With earnest prayer we seek the power to change ourselves to better beings. Should we, by grace, receive such power, we ask for the wisdom in application to further greater good of the Order. Always we are willing to sacrifice ourselves for the whole, and the whole is willing to sacrifice itself for the greater good of Elanthia.&lt;br /&gt;

==The NEW Order==&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Sadly things happened and the Order was disbanded.  Six long years the Realms went without the ODS, though now it&#039;s been revived. For the added protection of the province it was decided to bring the Order of the Dragon Shield back to life.  Give it a second life actually.  The new Speaker that was appointed after many interviews was [[Raeyel]] Rincon.  [[Raeyel]] was familiar with the ODS, both when it was great and during the days before it collapsed, giving this Barbarian warrior a unique perspective.  The NEW ODS is focused on family, friendship and service to Therengia and the Baron. The Order has a very social focus now, and welcomes others into the &#039;family&#039; that seek a place to belong.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
With the idea in mind that the only way to bring back the ODS was to go back to its roots...back to being about the community and about family...rebuilding wasn&#039;t going to be easy, but it would definitely be worth it.  [[Raeyel]] spent a bit of time convincing his aunt and uncle to come on board. His aunt, [[Mystylaine]] Rincon had experience in building an Order from the ground up with [[Lancel]] and the Apostles, and became his Vice Speaker.  Wanting a strong presence on the Council, he talked his uncle, [[Rekon]] Rincon, into joining since the [[Northern Watch]], of which [[Rekon]] had been Deputy Commander, was now on indefinite hold. [[Rekon]] joined and became the first of the Council in the Order of the Dragon Shield, and is the Head Councilman.  &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Finding others that shared his vision, [[Raeyel]], with the help of his Vice and Councilman, began filling the ranks.  A full council quickly formed and since the Order was sworn to the Baron and defending Therengia, the Strike Force was restored as well.  Head Councilman [[Rekon]] oversees all the military aspects as Defense Advisor with fellow Paladin [[Kenamer]] Maylan running the Strike Force under his supervision.  Appointed as Strike Force Leader, [[Kenamer]] is responsible for the training and day to day of the Strike Force and leads the weekly meetings.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Pulling another prior member from the days of the OLD ODS, [[Raeyel]] brought on [[Rheela]] as Treasurer and to lead and coordinate Triage for the Order.  Being a resident of Riverhaven and a very capable empath, she was a perfect choice for both positions.  Councilman [[Nefarious]], and former [[Northern Watch]] Sergeant, was put in charge of Intelligence and runs a more specialized part of the Strike Force.  &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Being part of the Strike Force is completely optional, and is the only aspect of the NEW ODS that functions in any sort of a military capacity.  [[Raeyel]] had also been a soldier in the [[Northern Watch]] and several of his comrades also came over to the ODS, including former Watch Commander [[Vykanthiss]] and other soldiers.  Councilman [[Alymast]] provides assistance to both the Speaker and Vice Speaker as well as the Head Councilman and accumulates and organizes reports that need turned in, as well as other duties as needed.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Council and Strike Force set, the membership grew quickly under the new leadership and new direction.  Yes, there is a defensive regiment to the Order, but the Order ITSELF is not militant.  Focusing on family and FUN, and bringing a sense of community back to Therengia is the direction of the Order.  The New ODS has completely re-branded as well and the Order now has an actual web presence obtainable by the link above.  Members are very active socially, events are well attended, and the sense of family is palatable...a dysfunctional, oddball family...but a cohesive and tightly knit family. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
With the focus on fun, [[Raeyel]] was at a loss, not being too knowledgeable on what people like, he turned to his aunt, [[Mystylaine]].  [[Mystylaine]], being a social person, had her finger to the pulse of the people (insert empath joke here) and knew what people found fun.  Not only that but also knew about designing items that people would love.  With [[Raeyel]]&#039;s knowledge of weapons and her eye for what looks cool, they knew they had a winning formula.  [[Raeyel]] is still learning about the social, with help from both his aunt and uncle.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Leadership has changed.  [[Mystylaine]] is the Speaker and the Vice is [[Kenamer]], with [[Rekon]] still Head Council and Defense Advisor.  [[Taehara]] is Aide to the Speaker and the Order Ambassador is [[Pengwin]].  We will continue to serve the Baron and the protect the lands of Therengia, specifically Riverhaven and Rossman&#039;s Landing, and raising to the call of the [[Theren Guard]] when they need assistance as well as the occasional joint event with them.  We will also continue to work towards a unified community, and for our events to be the place to go to socialize and have FUN with some of the best gifts and prizes to be had!!&lt;br /&gt;

We are NEW BLOOD, we are a NEW ORDER, we are not your average Order, and we pride ourselves on this!  We are a second family to some, the only family to others...but in the end, we are A FAMILY and we are the defenders of Riverhaven. History is important, so here is ours.....&lt;br /&gt;

In the beginning, there was only one. A [[Paladin]], a known and respected warrior of virtue, gathered unto himself nine of his closest friends and allies. He spoke to them a dream he held close to his heart. A dream of a organized group of close friends, adventurers, sages and poets who would come together to protect their homes and friends, lend aid to harried souls who toil across the Realms, and protect the weak and impoverished. The nine were inspired by the paladin&#039;s words and they swore an oath to make his dream a reality. Truth be told, none of them knew what they had gotten themselves into.&amp;lt;br /&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;lt;br /&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
Late at night, the first ten gathered around a small fire in a cozy cabin near the city of [[Therenborough]]. Many such nights would follow as the foundations were laid for what would become The Order of the Dragon Shield. [[Naveraun]], the first paladin, worked many hours with quill and ink and parchment laying to written word the dream he held. His close friend, [[Devihn]], noble paladin of the Realms, spent much time working hand in hand with Naveraun. Carefully, so that Naveraun&#039;s intent was not changed, Devihn scribed what would become our Charter.&amp;lt;br /&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;lt;br /&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
The [[Ranger]] [[Purrlin]], in a moment inspiration, spoke the words that became our Motto. &amp;quot;Many Swords, One Shield.&amp;quot; A humble woman of virtue, Purrlin is also responsible for the badge that we now wear proudly upon our chests.&amp;lt;br /&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;

The S&#039;Kra healer [[Lys]] and her husband [[Naul]] the [[Warrior Mage]] spent many late nights working with the suggestions of others to produce the Laws which bind all of the Shield. They used the guidelines set down by the Great Mages, but nothing became Law until all had agreed upon the fairness of the Law.&amp;lt;br /&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;

[[Deathpick]] the [[Thief]], [[Jackaltooth]] the [[Cleric]] and [[Niktoahl]] the Ranger came together to help protect the members of our Order in its early days when there were those that wished that it would not come to be. Even though not yet a formal Order of the Realms, they roamed far and wide upholding the beliefs of our Order. They voiced their opinions in the meetings that were held, making certain that the Laws and Charter were written fairly for all and that not one voice went unheard.&amp;lt;br /&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;

The last of the ten, but certainly not the least, was [[Razzer]] the [[Bard]], whose words and deeds and expensive bar tabs spread the word to others who wished to be part of the dream of equality, freedom for all and protection for those unable to defend themselves. Razzer brought to our small cabin recruits both young and old, adding more voices to the chorus.&amp;lt;br /&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;

The Order of the Dragon Shield stands for basic understanding that life is diversified and has many faces. Our Goals as an Official Order include, but are not limited to the following:&lt;br /&gt;
#Promote fellowship amongst our members and the citizens of Elanthia.&lt;br /&gt;
#Defend the Province of Therengia and specifically the towns of Riverhaven and Rossman&#039;s Landing during times of invasion or war.&lt;br /&gt;

We, proud citizens of Elanthia, chose to found this Order of the Dragon Shield for the following reasons and purpose;&amp;lt;br /&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;

In the beginning there was just a dream, a small glint in the eyes of a few. Behind it all was such enthusiasm and determination that a spark was born. From that spark a fire was lit, and from that fire a forge was built. From our forge a shield was struck. With this shield Elanthia we&#039;ll defend.&amp;lt;br /&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;

To all those who wish to be heard and seen as an equal, to all those who seek to be part of principal better than themselves as an individual, to all those who seek to bring honor to their guild, and to all those who seek not the privilege of power but the providence of truth, here is your home!&amp;lt;br /&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;

This is what we seek as a unified body of spirits who have amiable hearts. We are determined to rise up and ennoble those that are humble, empower those who are powerless, and defend the defenseless. Always we are willing to sacrifice ourselves for the whole, and the whole is willing to sacrifice itself for the greater good of Elanthia.&lt;br /&gt;

==The NEW Order==&lt;br /&gt;

Sadly things happened and the Order was disbanded.  Six long years the Realms went without the ODS, though now it&#039;s been revived. For the added protection of the province it was decided to bring the Order of the Dragon Shield back to life.  Give it a second life actually.  The new Speaker that was appointed after many interviews was [[Raeyel]] Rincon.  [[Raeyel]] was familiar with the ODS, both when it was great and during the days before it collapsed, giving this Barbarian warrior a unique perspective.  The NEW ODS is focused on family, friendship and service to Therengia and the Baron. The Order has a very social focus now, and welcomes others into the &#039;family&#039; that seek a place to belong.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
With the idea in mind that the only way to bring back the ODS was to go back to its roots...back to being about the community and about family...rebuilding wasn&#039;t going to be easy, but it would definitely be worth it.  [[Raeyel]] spent a bit of time convincing his aunt and uncle to come on board. His aunt, [[Mystylaine]] Rincon had experience in building an Order from the ground up with [[Lancel]] and the Apostles, and became his Vice Speaker.  Wanting a strong presence on the Council, he talked his uncle, [[Rekon]] Rincon, into joining since the [[Northern Watch]], of which [[Rekon]] had been Deputy Commander, was now on indefinite hold. [[Rekon]] joined and became the first of the Council in the Order of the Dragon Shield, and is the Head Councilman.  &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Finding others that shared his vision, [[Raeyel]], with the help of his Vice and Councilman, began filling the ranks.  A full council quickly formed and since the Order was sworn to the Baron and defending Therengia, the Strike Force was restored as well.  Head Councilman [[Rekon]] oversees all the military aspects as Defense Advisor with fellow Paladin [[Kenamer]] Maylan running the Strike Force under his supervision.  Appointed as Strike Force Leader, [[Kenamer]] is responsible for the training and day to day of the Strike Force and leads the weekly meetings.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Pulling another prior member from the days of the OLD ODS, [[Raeyel]] brought on [[Rheela]] as Treasurer and to lead and coordinate Triage for the Order.  Being a resident of Riverhaven and a very capable empath, she was a perfect choice for both positions.  Councilman [[Nefarious]], and former [[Northern Watch]] Sergeant, was put in charge of Intelligence and runs a more specialized part of the Strike Force.  &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Being part of the Strike Force is completely optional, and is the only aspect of the NEW ODS that functions in any sort of a military capacity.  [[Raeyel]] had also been a soldier in the [[Northern Watch]] and several of his comrades also came over to the ODS, including former Watch Commander [[Vykanthiss]] and other soldiers.  Councilman [[Alymast]] provides assistance to both the Speaker and Vice Speaker as well as the Head Councilman and accumulates and organizes reports that need turned in, as well as other duties as needed.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Council and Strike Force set, the membership grew quickly under the new leadership and new direction.  Yes, there is a defensive regiment to the Order, but the Order ITSELF is not militant.  Focusing on family and FUN, and bringing a sense of community back to Therengia is the direction of the Order.  The New ODS has completely re-branded as well and the Order now has an actual web presence obtainable by the link above.  Members are very active socially, events are well attended, and the sense of family is palatable...a dysfunctional, oddball family...but a cohesive and tightly knit family. &lt;br /&gt;

With the focus on fun, [[Raeyel]] was at a loss, not being too knowledgeable on what people like, he turned to his aunt, [[Mystylaine]].  [[Mystylaine]], being a social person, had her finger to the pulse of the people (insert empath joke here) and knew what people found fun.  Not only that but also knew about designing items that people would love.  With [[Raeyel]]&#039;s knowledge of weapons and her eye for what looks cool, they knew they had a winning formula.  [[Raeyel]] is still learning about the social, with help from both his aunt and uncle.&lt;br /&gt;

Leadership has changed.  [[Mystylaine]] is the Speaker and the Vice is [[Kenamer]], with [[Rekon]] still Head Council and Defense Advisor.  [[Taehara]] is Aide to the Speaker and the Order Ambassador is [[Pengwin]].  We will continue to serve the Baron and the protect the lands of Therengia, specifically Riverhaven and Rossman&#039;s Landing, and raising to the call of the [[Theren Guard]] when they need assistance as well as the occasional joint event with them.  We will also continue to work towards a unified community, and for our events to be the place to go to socialize and have FUN with some of the best gifts and prizes to be had!!&lt;br /&gt;

We are NEW BLOOD, we are a NEW ORDER, we are not your average Order, and we pride ourselves on this!  We are a second family to some, the only family to others...but in the end, we are A FAMILY and we are the defenders of Riverhaven.
