__NOTOC__

==Description==
The arbelog stands about six feet in height, humanoid in appearance, with inordinately long, muscular arms and prehensile-toed feet. It is covered with thick brown fur, lighter at the belly and face, a dark stripe running down its back. Large heavily lidded eyes peer out over a flat wrinkled nose and nearly lipless mouth.

==In Depth==
It is wearing nothing!<br>
It is carrying nothing!

===Trivia===
In 1996, arbelogs are where the high level characters went to hunt, since the boxes contained gold coins. They still yield around 1,000 Lirums per box.

===Notes===
TM hard caps at 100 ranks.<br>
Defenses hard cap at 91 ranks.<br>
Evasion soft caps at ~74 even with multiple arbelogs. (Tested on Survival primary.)<br>
Weapons crawl beyond 80, possibly with an 85 hard cap. The bears and rams won't teach weapons at all past 80.<br>
Not recommended below 80 defenses, and unfortunately only teach up to 90. Multiple arbelogs can be quite dangerous below 90, especially once you build up any sort of burden.<br>
The only hunting area that spawn these (West of Riverhaven) is also a spawning area for Meadow Rams and Black Bears, both of which stop teaching significantly earlier than Arbelogs. Furthermore, the bears almost always go after the other critters before engaging players. Bears will work together to kill all rams and arbelogs in an area before going after a hunter. Rams and arbelogs act normally, going after the hunter and ignoring the bears unless engaged with them.<br>
It is possible (though very rare) for dusk ogres to wander into this area from the nearby cave, but they aren't dangerous if you're hunting here.<br>

As of 8/25/18:
TM only 1/34 @ 92 ranks.

===Skinning and Lockpicking===
Arbelogs train skinning fairly well in the mid-60s.

Boxes are at-level within the range of approximately 60-70 ranks. Can pick and disarm carefully in the high 40's.

Are we allowed to add theme music to a wiki page... or rolling credits?

: Go ahead and link to music if you like, but nothing that auto-plays on the page itself, assuming we're even set up to do that.
: As for animations, I'm going to say no. And I'll even add it to the [[MOS]], as that seems to be missing from it. -[[User:CARAAMON|CARAAMON]] ([[User talk:CARAAMON|talk]]) 16:00, 10 February 2015 (CST)
== Crafting material pages ==

So I thought I was making up the BONE item pages the same as how you'd made up the METAL item pages, but now I see you're starting to do re-directs on them to other page names. First off, sorry! Guess I should have just done one and gotten you to look it over first. So, with that in mind, do you want to go ahead and do the first leather item up (right now, looks like Antelope skin), so I have a template to do the other leather items that way too so that you won't have to go back and fiddle them later? Not trying to make more work for you...:) --[[User:Kythryn|Kythryn]] 14:51, 15 November 2013 (UTC)
: Actually, I'm still testing it, trying to find the way that makes the most sense. Metals and stones are fairly simple, as they always are obvious what they are. Skin and bones isn't always quite so straightforward. I list them in stack form for a couple reasons:
::# So people can easily match what's in their pack to crafting stats.
::# Because some skin/bones we can't actually attribute to a specific creature yet or come from multiple creatures.
::# Because some skin/bones is very oddly named.
::# Because some similarly named items might end up being very different (Snow Goblin bones might end up different than Elven Pixie Forest and Plains Goblin bones) and so having a Goblin Bone page could cause issues.
: That being said, this is a wiki and not my personal little fiefdom, so if you think you have a better way to do it, PLEASE give it a shot. I watch all the changes on the site (or at least try), so even if I disagree and change it, some part of your idea may end up being far better. -Moderator [[User:Caraamon|Caraamon Makdasi]]([[User talk:Caraamon|talk]]) 19:01, 15 November 2013 (UTC)
::You may not claim the title, but we all know: You're king of the Elanthipedia Kingdom...:).
:::So, on the stack vs. no-stack thing, I see where you're coming from. But, on the flip side of that, if you're looking to match what is in a pack, why not lumium shard or silk cloth or onyx rock? I mean, the only thing you can (currently) pick up from it's name is a prepared healing herb (ie. crushed belradi moss becomes crushed belradi), everything else you see as a "cloth" or an "ingot" or whatever. (not trying to be difficult here, but seems like the other materials already have their "qualifier" stripped off, so why not with Bone & Leather too).
:::And, we do already have Goblin Bone and Pale Goblin Bone (thanks to [[Antendren]] checking a snow goblin question I had) so I do suspect that if the GM's release something from 2 similar creatures, they will give it a separate name. Hopefully. Probably. Maybe.
:::At the end of the day, I don't really care how we proceed with this, I'm happy to help populate everything. --[[User:Kythryn|Kythryn]] 00:55, 16 November 2013 (UTC)
::::And because I'm just itching to do something with this tonight it seems, I have been playing around with [[Caracal-pelt Leather]], including the base pelt and made a test table under the COMMON LEATHER section on the Crafting Materials page. Let me know what you think, make changes, etc. Thanks! --[[User:Kythryn|Kythryn]] 03:32, 16 November 2013 (UTC)
So, I am (hoping!) to finish that up this coming weekend. That being said, I'd posted on the forums, and will add this to the "crafting feedback" page too, but since there are currently 2 common skins that turn into "some azure-scale leather", each with different stats, should I go ahead and make "some azure-scale leather (1)" and "some azure-scale leather (2)", and a master "disambig" page like this link for both?
::::Ugh, looks like some red-links are still on the crafting materials page from the server transfer. Also, there are some naming things going on when you look at the [[Crafting Materials#Rare Leather]], sometimes it is an ''item'' other times it is just a page. I don't think I'll be re-visiting this in the near future, however if you want to let me know the page naming standard you want for things, if it hasn't been done by the time I motivate, I'll be happy to go through and standardize and follow-up on the red-links. --[[Kythryn]] 15:33, 25 January 2015 (CST)
== Crossing Temple Festival ==

So, when I was working on the [[choryu cake]] page, I found an archived folder on my backup drive that had a bunch of documents I'd made from various festivals over years before sweet, sweet epedia came along (heh). I'll work my way through updating things over the next week from them, but I found one that epedia doesn't have (I don't think anyhow, I couldn't find anything with searches) a category and/or festival page set up for yet. In 2001, the "new" Crossing temple was opened and there were about 15 merchants that set up on the grounds. Did you want to set that category & festival page up? Or create the red-links here and I'll populate them next time I sit down to document? Thanks! --[[Kythryn]] 10:52, 13 January 2015 (CST)
: Yeah, I think it was too early for Epedia and too late for DFP, or something around there. Just keep 'em redlinked until you put something in there. -[[User:CARAAMON|CARAAMON]] ([[User talk:CARAAMON|talk]]) 16:11, 13 January 2015 (CST)
== Hib Barbarian shop ==

Heya! I'm updating some of the Hib stuff, and in the Barbarian guild, there is a door that looks like is Barb-only and it looks to be a shop.
:>look door
:Polished into the brushed bronze of the door are letters that spell out, "Kvaren's".
:It is open.
:>go doo
:A large hand reaches out from behind the curtain and blocks your entrance. A burly guard mutters to you, "Just where, do you think yer goin? This shop is fer members of the Guild only."
I don't know how often you get out of Crossing, but if you're ever out this way, or you know a Barb in the area, might have them pop over and document the stuff? From the street, go boulder, go door, go grey arch, east, SE, east. That puts you in the room to GO DOOR to the shop. --[[Kythryn]] 16:06, 31 January 2015 (CST)
Being the resident Barbarian expert around here...:) Did you want a page created for the Pit Board rosters? I'm sitting here looking at the Ratha one, and while I'm guessing it has to do with Barbarians beating the tar out of each other, I figured I'd ask before jumping into formatting the table for it if there's some reason it shouldn't be on epedia. == Forging lightweight HCS Poignards ==

Forging lightweight poignards from HCS for gnomes: a) I have found no way to reflect "honed" in the [[Weapon:Poignard (crafted)|HC Steel table]]. Honed is the only way I know to make a 6 stone poignard from HCS, but I would prefer to make it explicit if possible. Can that be shown? How? b) my appraisals (certain) for 6 stone (honed) and 7 stone HCS poignards are identical to one another at mod/low/dismal, terrible, except-well/dismal when masterfully crafted from 99 material. Wondering if the 7 stone data in the table (shows excellently balanced) is a reality I somehow cannot duplicate, represents a balanced poignard not evident in the table, or an error. Please advise --[[User:JBEETLE|Jbeetle]] 18:16 March 27, 2015 (UTC)
: I've set up a temporary way to display notes, but I'm not sure we should do it. Balancing for sure is out, as it has predictable results always, but honing is still a problem as it will double the size of the tables. I'll have to think about it.
So, as an fyi, I learned that Searching the wiki fails when you uncheck various namespaces (e.g. if I want to search for stuff not in items, or not in Posts) I did verify that at least one thing in the "(Main)" namespace result set (a post) was actually in the Post namespace (per wiki <nowiki>{{NAMESPACE}}</nowiki>) which might be a need of regenerating the search/namespace index or something. --[[User:CALLEK|CALLEK]] ([[User talk:CALLEK|talk]]) 10:28, 27 April 2015 (CDT)

So I thought I was making up the BONE item pages the same as how you'd made up the METAL item pages, but now I see you're starting to do re-directs on them to other page names. First off, sorry! Guess I should have just done one and gotten you to look it over first.
Hopefully. Probably. Maybe.
Hopefully. Probably. Maybe.
Despite the severe temperament often attributed to practitioners of elemental magic, down through the ages Warrior Mages have stood guard over [[Elanthia]], protecting her towns and cities from the scourge of invaders and the forces of darkness. From this noble tradition rose perhaps the greatest hero of these realms: [[Lanival|Lanival the Redeemer]], whose roguish youth was marked by apparent impertinence that ultimately gave way to a grave and selfless sense of duty.
==[[:Category:Warrior Mage Abilities|Guild Abilities]]==
===[[Summoning skill|Summoning]]===
Warrior Mages can {{com|align}} themselves to an element. When spells of that element are cast, Elemental Charge is gained, and if opposing elemental spells are cast, charge is lost.

{{com|summon}} {{tt|admittance}} can be used to add Elemental Charge, and {{tt|summon impedance}} can be used to reduce it.

{{com|summon}} {{tt|weapon}} can be used to create an elemental weapon (default: Earth) of the Warrior Mage's highest weapon skill. The weapon can be altered to different elements, different skills, or made stronger with the proper metaspells.

Prior to roughly 500 ranks of Summoning, users will be tied to the typical element oppositions such as fire/water, air/earth. Afterward, warrior mages can freely pair.
===[[Aethereal Pathways]]===
Warrior Mages can utilize mystical pathways of aether to aid their [[Targeted Magic skill|Targeted Magic]]. Aethereal Pathways consume Elemental Charge. Each pathway is aligned with an element, and those that match the current charge have their costs halved, and opposing ones have cost doubled.

===[[Familiars]]===
As Warrior Mages grow in skill and prowess, they learn to create [[talisman]]s which are employed to summon aether spirits. These summoned spirits are called familiars, and they take the forms of animals. By commanding the familiar with its talisman, a Warrior Mage can see through the familiar's eyes, send a familiar to find someone, speak through the familiar, move the familiar around the area it is in, pick up items, and do other things. Each familiar has its own talisman.

There are four levels of familiar: Small familiars, Large familiars, Dark familiars, and Fir familiars. Each level contains a different set of animals, and the type of talisman created determines the level of familiar created.

Summoning familiars costs Elemental Charge and is considered to be aligned with Aether element. More powerful familiars cost more charge.

===[[:Category:Elemental Magic|Elemental Magic]]===
Warrior Mages channel Elemental mana streams to fuel their [[:Category:Warrior Mage Spells|spells]].
