'''Background'''

Helvet grew up an outcast among a group of traveling dwarves that loved drink, song and dance. A rough group that enjoyed bacchanal parties just as much as hard work, Helvet learned much about life from a very different perspective than most. Silvyrfrost picked up Helvet when the traveling troupe passed through the Crossings during a period of magical unrest when Helvet began to lose control of his magical aptitude due to the wild magic surge. Taken under the wing of the red-haired songstress, Helvet learned much about his elemental attunement and how to weave the waves of sound in the atmosphere to the benefit, or detriment, of his surroundings. Still under the tutelage and close watch of Silvyrfrost's dreamy, mismatched silver and crystal blue eyes, Helvet had room to grow amongst the citizens of Zoluren.

During his travels with his dwarven troupe, Helvet stuck out like a sore thumb amongst his brethren. Surrounded by sturdy dwarves wearing chainmail and plate armor, Helvet chose to honor his elven ancestry and wear cloth armor. It was a sight to behold, a short elf awkwardly stumbling around with platemail getting beaten down by creatures of all kinds. Much of his childhood was spent thickening his skin, with many scars full of stories to tell sitting around a campfire. He adapted into wearing the spare fabrics procured every so often that would only go towards repairing clothing and bags for his family. Waste not, want not. He fights with a staff that he swings like lightning to strike down any foe in his path. Once he even smashed a Celpeze head into a fine red mist with his quarterstaff! I swear it's true! If at all disarmed, Helvet is skilled with his bare hands and feet in brawling. His old troupe would participate in drunken dwarven brawling and he never forgot how to fight without weaponry. He also carrys a cutlass for backup in the event an enemy cannot be bested with impact damage.

With a taste for diversity, Helvet trains many survival skills unusual for his guild, including outdoorsmanship, locksmithing, and skinning. It was adventageous to be a jack of all trades when in a dwarven troupe of musicians who all seemed to need a little rounding out. After spending some time on the island of Ratha, Helvet began to get homesick and picked up a heavy blunt weapon to remind himself of his heritage back home. Swinging an iron chain brings back memories of his allies and friends wielding hammers and mattocks.

'''History'''

451 - The Crossings was home to the beginning of Helvet's adventure, being greeted by many players and denizens of Zoluren throughout the city and area proper. One particular person, Amabalis, was kind enough to gift Helvet some clothing and an [[Item:Black gold Glythtide's harp inlaid with golden nagas|instrument]]. Fighting and training his way up the ladder from ship's rats, to foraging goblins and field goblins, goblin shamans, finally to beisswurms, Helvet decided to head to the islands to train in solitude. After arriving on Ratha for the first time, he discovered a rare weapon in the Bard's guild on the donation shelf crafted by another player (a slender quarterstaff carved from smokewood and reinforced with audrualm tips). A weapon to be contended with, both in rarity, lightweightedness and damage, Helvet began hunting up the ladder from sand sprites, into silver leucros, followed by razortusk boars and sows into bawdy swains and kra'hei hatchlings.

He frequents the Golden Lyre club and the [[Hotagi'rath Theater (shop)|theatre]] room to play the instruments that are stationary there, as well as Truffenyi's Green and Kygar's Pub. After becoming homesick, he became a citizen of Qi'Reshalia and made a home on the streets and sands of Ratha, enjoying the sea salt spray and remote environment.

Lithe and incredibly agile, this fair-skinned water sprite is at once breathtakingly beautiful and alarmingly dangerous. Coal-black eyes mirror the madness raging within her mind, while her intoxicating dance speaks of childlike simplicities and a deceptively charming demeanor. No taller than an adolescent Elf, and certainly quite alluring, a water sprite is nonetheless an unpredictable, menacing creature.
__NOTOC__

==Description==
The glutinous lipopod is a massive worm which normally spends its time in the waters of large lakes. It ventures onto land only when seeking nourishment. Lipopod have been known to decimate the living organism counts in bodies of water, but fortunately can only survive in brackish or tainted environments.

Having a basic, worm-like form, these milky, nearly-transparent creatures absorb their food through osmosis. They can wrap their bodies around their prey and literally digest them through their epidermis. With no real eyes, nose or mouth, their skin has evolved into one massive sensory unit. Their pea-sized brains are located in the forward-leading part of their bodies.

The various irregularities on their skin, which you might call nodules, ooze a thick, smelly slime which is quite caustic. In the water, this slime protects their bodies in the cold depths, but on land, it does little more than burn the ground like a strong acid.

Despite a lack of vocal cords, the glutinous lipopod manages to emit a primitive, high-pitched squealing sound. It does this by manipulating several small portions of its body into air pockets, which it then squeezes with a kind of shivering motion.

All in all, it's a pretty disgusting and goopy creature.
==Description==
==Description==

==Aging Halfling Woodcarver (wanders in store)==
The Halfling woodcarver is clad in a pair of wrinkled woolen breeches and a loose white linen shirt with the sleeves rolled back. A leather woodwind pouch hangs on his belt next to a small sheath, its partnering knife currently in the woodcarver's hands carving away at a rosewood stick. Catching you looking at him, he nods and winks, brushing a lock of greying brunette hair out of his hazel eyes.<br>

* {{com|ask }} woodcarver about pin: The Halfling woodcarver rummages around in his pockets. "I have some pins I've carved in the shape of a bird around here some-- aha." He smiles triumphantly, pulling out an assortment of different bird pins to show to you. "Perfect to jes' PUT on your favorite instrument pouch. I'll part with one for a gold piece. If you'd like one, I'll select one of them for you - just ask me for a pin. I haveta pay that miser Sinjian m'girl's tuition after all."<br>

* {{com|ask }} woodcarver for pin: An aging Halfling woodcarver rummages around in his pouch, finally pulling a cherry hawk pin from it and handing it to you in exchange for his fee. "Jes' PUT this on your favorite woodwind or long pouch," he tells you with a grin. "This'll spiff it right up for you."

* {{com|ask}} woodcarver about wood: An aging Halfling woodcarver nods to you, still whittling away at a roughened bird shaped piece of rosewood in his hands. "Bring me a piece of wood or a stick, and I can carve it into a whistle for you for a small fee. My daughter's newly apprenticed to Sinjian, and I owe that old skinflint her tuition."<br>

* {{com|ask }} woodcarver about whistle: With a nod in your direction, the Halfling woodcarver says, "Whistles are handy things to have around. Would you like me to carve one for you?" He raises an eyebrow in your direction. "Only five silver, if you can bring me a stick to whittle it from. Make sure you only bring me uncarved wood, mind!"

* {{com|give }} woodcarver: The Halfling woodcarver accepts your stick, looking at it appraisingly as he turns it from side to side. Satisfied with it, he begins to hum the notes of "Swift Runs the Blood" as his agile fingers strip away the bark and carve a rough shape from the soft wood beneath. He shapes the wings and tail with deft curls of his knife, carefully hollowing out a section in the middle. After only a few minutes, he presents you with an ash phoenix whistle and collects his fee.<br>
You are Helvet, an Elf.
You have a triangular face, pointed ears, brown eyes and a small nose. Your brown hair is short and straight. You have blue-veined skin and a stout build.
You are short for an Elf.
You are young.

Still under the tutelage and close watch of Silvyrfrost's dreamy, mismatched silver and crystal blue eyes, Helvet has room to grow amongst the citizens of Zoluren.

During his travels with his dwarven troupe, Helvet stuck out like a sore thumb amongst his brethren. Surrounded by sturdy dwarves wearing chainmail and plate armor, Helvet chose to honor his elven ancestry and wear leather armor. It was a sight to behold, a short elf awkwardly stumbling around with platemail getting beaten down by creatures of all kinds. Much of his childhood was spent thickening his skin, with many scars full of stories to tell sitting around a campfire. He adapted into wearing the skins procured every so often that would only go towards repairing clothing and bags for his family. Waste not, want not. He swings his warhammer like lightning to strike down any foe in his path. Once he even smashed a Celpeze head into a fine red mist with his warhammer! I swear it's true!
