RTOC
Overview
Brought back to Taisidon starting with Taisidon Mystery 454 in 2025, treasure creatures occasionally spawn around the island. These all will work under boss mechanics for combat, and are relatively simple opponents, however in order to take advantage of the treasure sack the creature will drop, you must interact with the creature at least once while it is alive. The interaction can be a combat melee attack, combat ranged attack, combat spell attack or a non-damaging spell attack (such as Lethargy by empaths). Also have the ability to heal. Different variations can include:
*a treasure orc
*an angry treasure goblin
*a hulking treasure giant
*a treasure golem
*a savage treasure troll
It does not appear as if the different variations drop different loot. Once the creature is dead, GET SACK to grab a prize.

They can appear in different locations around the island. If you are present on the island, an announcement will be visible that indicates the creature name and the location, looking something like:

A distant cry of alarm rises up across the island. As it's repeated and passed along to others, you make out the frantic call, "It's a brutish treasure bandit again! It's trying to steal Taisidon's fortunes! Rally the fighters to Jalren'rae'Taisidon, Seord Telga!"

The pool for the treasure items found from these creatures is shared with the treasure map that can be assembled from creature drops on the island.

Locations
When the island alarm goes out, the general location of the creature is given at the end of the message. The following is a list of the general hunting area that each of those locations is associated with.
*You cannot have more than one trail marker rock active; as soon as you mark another rock, that rock becomes your new active trail marker rock, until you have reached circle 100.
*Having a new trail marker rock does not erase the previous PTM, but only the most recent PTM will work. If you've already put a PTM in a room and you'd like to put down another PTM in the same room, you'll have to KICK MARKER to erase your previous PTM first.
*Running a PTM trains Scouting and Perception just like any normal trail
*At 362 Scouting skill, mark rock lasted for 55 minutes.
*Testing PTMs in Zoluren shows that length of time to run a PTM depends on the room that you start "Scout Rock", not where the marker room is. Default time was 52 sec @362 Scouting Skill. Certain rooms like west of Empath Infirmary, divorce tent in Dirge, and abandoned mine make the PTM take 82 sec to complete. Running a PTM from abandoned mine in a group with 2 extra people took 2.5 minutes (approx. double the time). Also, I was unable to cross the Segoltha River via PTM.
*At 1750 Instinct skill, a marker rock lasted for 59 minutes. With a max Wolf Scent, effective 2100 Instinct skill, a marker rock lasted for 59 minutes.

Additional actions include:
*ARRANGE their marker to make it a little easier for another Ranger to find.
*TURN their marker to make it very easy for another Ranger to find.
*KICK their marker to get rid of the marker
*LOOK and READ their marker to see some information about it (read information includes how long your trailmarker will remain usable)
*EXAMINE ROCK : Give the [Title Name] of the room where you set the PTM.
*STUDY gives normal Study comments
*GO or SNEAK to follow the marker back to the Ranger who made it (albeit with the same distance checks that have always been in place)
Description
Crafted from lustrous black marble, the gargoyle is a statue granted life to serve as a guardian of its creator's domain. With a head and body of a lion, stunted draconic wings and a serpentine tail, the gargoyle is curiously elegant despite its incongruous parts. Sculpted muscles move with predatory grace, while razor-sharp claws and curving incisors promise lethal violence. A broad collar of intertwined adders is chiseled around its neck.

Recall
Said to have been created by Asketi to serve her every whim, these monstrous gargoyles protect her icy domain from heathens and unbelievers.
3.1 Skill Notes
Overall Combat
Oct. 2022. For a thief with the following base stats and skills (+ buffs from khri), these are not a bad step up from Germish’din; they are certainly huntable and train well, with injuries only accumulating from very infrequent light hits once all skills are locked. At this point at least, they move defensive/armor skills a little more slowly because of all their spam casting of spells. Hiding easily in mixed leather/chain armor and very effective blindsides:
Evasion: 380 (+ 76) | Parry: 372 | Shield: 371 | Armors/Defending: 370 | Reflex: 60 (+12) | Agility: 60 (+12) | Discipline: 55 | Weapons: 370 (+71) | Masteries: 380 | Stealth: 468 (+93) | Backstab: 400 (+80)

Defenses
Training is manageable with the following skills but a string of harder hits may be taken when in shield stance:
Evasion: 407 | Parry: 371 | Shield: 316 | Reflex: 60 | Agility: 50 | Discipline: 56

Trains very well with a buffed Paladin (RW/SR/AA) at the following skills. Lots of light hits from them.
Evasion: 334 | Parry: 363 | Shield: 387 | Reflex: 40 | Agility: 45 | Discipline: 40

Only the occasional light hit even with no buffs, reliably hitting with weapons.
Evasion: 356 | Parry: 391 | Shield: 421 | Reflex: 45 | Agility: 45 | Discipline: 40

Training very well with the following skills, very few hits.
Evasion: 424 | Parry: 391 | Shield: 331 | Reflex: 60 | Agility: 50 | Discipline: 56

Two hours in combat results in just a couple of minor abrasions.
Evasion: 409 | Parry: 453 | Shield: 501 | Reflex: 45 | Agility: 45 | Discipline: 45

Armors at 485 while using only a helm (head/neck) only gets to 24/34 on armor primary after 1 hour, 40 minutes.
Armors drop to dabbling depending on coverage area after 500. At 520, torso armor will no move past dabbling.
Shield at 529 is at 4/34 after an hour and half in combat.
Defending at 520 will not move past dabbling.
Conviction still locking at 544.
Conviction stops training at 567.
Weapons and Magic
Weapons at 259 and masteries at 400 miss a lot.
Weapons at 325 and masteries at 485 results in good hits and training very well.
Weapons at 470 are slow.
Weapons at 540 are very slow.

Parry drops to 0 and rarely comes off one at 508.
TM and Debil at 370 train well.
Survivals
Backstab slows at 487, all but stops at 520.

Skinning at 341 moves excellently with no arranges.
Skinning at 412 results in max quality skins (70) with no arranges. A single arrange can still destroy the skin.
Skinning at 433 moves well with no arranges but still results in the occasional destroyed skin with arrange all and is routinely in the 30 quality range.
Skinning moving well at 620 with arrange all.

Lockpicking at 250 is possible but difficult, some tripped traps.
Lockpicking at 280 is relatively safe.
Lockpicking at 342 is generally 'at level' or 'shouldn't take long'.

Perception at 435 trains well with HUNT.

Lores
Tactics trains well at 465.
Appraisal trains well at 440.

The pattern creates an ethereal plant which is capable of healing those that need its aid, and the Empath can in turn heal their created plant. This may prove useful in assisting individuals when the Empath cannot be physically present. The Empath can return at a later point in time, or recasting the spell will recreate the plant nearby, wounds and all. Communal by nature, the plants will seek one another locally and form a thicket. Any caster should be aware, this spell is a ritual spell and will require a ritual focus to successfully cast.
** You feel a slight warmth that quickly fades, indicating your plant has no need of healing.
Notes
* Released for Premium preview in 446 (July 2023).
* Patients can TOUCH a plant/thicket to begin being healed. You must remain in the room and out of combat for the healing to continue.
* Other empaths can not be healed by the plants/thickets.
* The plant has a healing limit and will despawn (messaging its creator) once reached.
* You can recast the spell at any time to move the plant to your current location.
* The amount of damage the plant has taken on is persistent through recasts and player death.
* The creator can TAP, TOUCH, PULL, or HUG their plant to heal it, taking on progressively larger/more numerous wounds.
* The plant will disappear when the empath logs out of the game.

Interactions
* study: Empathically linked to its creator, the vela'tohr plant is capable of healing, albeit slowly, non-Empaths who avail themselves to its abilities. You recognize this plant as your own, and feel that you could transfer its injuries to yourself via a tap, touch, pull, or hug, the increased contact increasing the amount of wounds transferred. Be careful, the vela'tohr plants are sturdy, and capable of withstanding significant damage!
* look:
: The vela'tohr plant is a large, stalky bush. Its thick stem supports numerous coiled tendrils, which sway gently as if searching for something. Giant dark green leaves yawn open from the base of the stalk, revealing a myriad of brilliant flowers.
: The plant <health message>.
:* possible health messages from least to most damage:
::* The plant appears to be in good condition.
::* The plant has some scrapes and discolorations along the leaves and stem.
::* messaging needed
::* messaging needed
* All four of the "healing" verbs have the same initial message. They are different on how much the empath heals the plant, with TAP taking a small amount of damage, HUG taking a very large amount of damage and TOUCH & PULL moderate amounts. The messaging is:
: You reach out to touch your vela'tohr plant and it extends a green branch, soft leaves curling against your flesh with a cool tingle. You feel an empathic connection forming between you and your vela'tohr plant. There is a burst of pain as your
erupt in agony and blossom with wounds! Your vela'tohr plant looks healthier!

spoilers
1. Ask leader about quest at any guild hall. I'd suggest doing
this in Riverhaven since it's the closest city to Throne City. The
guild leader will tell you that you need to go to the tower you went to for
Accuracy.

2. Travel to the ruined tower in Throne City (Lich room: 3058), from the stone docks go:
South, Southeast, Southeast, Climb Slope, Go gate, south, southwest,
southwest, southwest, go alley, south, west, west, west, climb stair,
southwest

3. Give the letter that the guild leader gave you to the tower guard
then climb tower

4. Climb step, go hallway, climb stair

5. Here you'll need to put 5 spells into the east pillar, I'd suggest
using TM spells since they prep quickly. Prep a spell then when fully
prepared touch east pillar. Do this five times then open east pillar, go
east pillar. (9/6/16 I had to "Look Wall" before it would let me see the pillars)

6. You're now in a room with 4 braziers focus second brazier then pull
chain under second brazier, focus fourth brazier pull chain under
fourth brazier, focus first brazier pull chain under first brazier, focus
third brazier pull chain under third brazier.

6B. I completed this quest on 12-6-07 the sequence above did NOT work for me, I used this script to negotiate the braziers:
(The sequence changes so the script may not work.)

put focus third brazier
pause 5
put pull chain under third brazier
Pause
put focus second brazier
pause 5
put pull chain under second brazier
pause
put focus fourth brazier
pause 5
put pull chain under fourth brazier
pause
put focus first brazier
pause 5
put pull chain under first brazier
exit

6C. The secret is in discovering the proper order for yourself.
Focus on the brazier of choice then pull the chain under that same brazier. If nothing happens or the chains retract, that was not the correct order for that brazier and you must start over. If you have chosen correctly you will see something like:

A soft point of light appears on the brazier and rapidly begins to expand, forming the rune for the XXXX XXXX spell.

If this is the case move on to the next brazier of your choice until the sequence is completed correctly.
For example, when I did this, the proper sequence was second, fourth, first, third.

7. Pick up the tome and exit the same way you came in except instead of touching the east pillar touch the slab. (2/9/19 remember to prep/touch 5 spells into the slab before trying to open it) (Exit: climb stair, go hallway, climb step, open window, go window)

8. Take the tome back to the guild leader that gave you the quest

*NOTE After a period of time the authorization letter will disappear. You can re-initiate the quest by going to a guild leader and “ask [guild leader] about quest”
