==Official Description==&lt;br /&gt;
Once they were respected by craftsmen, artisans, merchants, and even nobility. Their network of associates sprawled throughout the known lands, and occasionally beyond. [[Vanassa]]&#039;s deft hand guided the [[Estate Holder Council]] for decades, creating a powerhouse of influence that only reinforced their ties with trade and development.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Vanassa retired from the day-to-day duties, trusting in the knowledge the other Council Members had acquired over the years to continue guiding the organizations efforts to the benefit of all. That trust may have been misplaced. When disaster struck the merchant fleet, the Council botched the search and recovery efforts, leaving the &#039;lucky&#039; survivors stranded in the wilds now known as [[Fang Cove]] for years!&lt;br /&gt;
In the wake of their missteps, the remaining Council members have grown quiet, and their once vast network has crumbled. Merchants have spoken with contempt about broken promises, and some have sworn to never work with the Council again. Yet still, in far corners, words of hope and encouragement can be found.&lt;br /&gt;

Rumors say that Vanassa has reached out personally in an effort to begin restoring the faith that was lost. None claim to have seen her directly, but such is the way of rumors. It&#039;s always a friend or a relative that had the sighting. Whether it truly is Vanassa or not, SOMEONE has quietly organized a festive gathering of games and special prizes. The whispered tales claim the gathering will be along Fang Cove&#039;s Fate&#039;s Fortune Lane, but there&#039;s talk of a special guest list.&lt;br /&gt;

What&#039;s the purpose of this gathering? How long will it remain? Is the Council truly trying to restore its credibility, at long last? Maybe the answers can be found among the games and happy visitors. Would you like to find out?&lt;br /&gt;

The staff of DragonRealms is proud to announce a NEW type of adventure!&amp;lt;br/&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;

* This is a copy of the Fang Cove area, if you travel via the mammoths or portal to the real Fang Cove, you won&#039;t see the games.&lt;br /&gt;
* Wherever you ask the representative about access at is where you will be returned when your time is up. Likewise, if you run out of coins or need healing, you can use the archway to get back to where you came from for a bank run!&lt;br /&gt;
* At least one of the games can be deadly -- the mechanics should work like [[Hollow Eve]] and allow you to keep your coins when departing. When you depart, it&#039;s a fast (and safe!) trip back.&lt;br /&gt;
* Go forth and have fun! There are several games to play, and their odds and prices change from time to time. To reach the Stone Rotunda, where Arbiter Ceryaen and the [[:Category:Merelew factions|Merelew factions]] are, someone who has already obtained an {{ilink|i|Simple ecosphere|ecosphere}} must {{com|RAISE}} it to open a gate. This will create a ripplegate that will open for 5-10 minutes that anyone can use. It takes 1 hour in Prime, 30 minutes in Plat or TF for this magic to replenish, so there may need to be some planning or coordination in these early days as others who don&#039;t yet have them acquire theirs. If you DID lose or give away your ecosphere, a replacement can be purchased from Shadow Forger Zentham for 500 plat.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Opening: &#039;&#039;With a gurgle, a pool of water quickly bubbles up from the ground and lifts into the air.  It begins to spiral, like a whirlpool turned on its side, forming an unstable ripplegate.&#039;&#039;&lt;br /&gt;

Arbiter Ceryaen leans on her trident as she says, &amp;quot;The great spider exploded in the seas many years ago, now, yet its effects are still lingering and corrupting our depths.  Pieces of it are no doubt washing ashore in your own lands at this point and being dispersed more widely by nature&#039;s many servants.&amp;quot;&lt;br /&gt;

She continues, &amp;quot;The Life Mages of the [[Trickling Sun]], thanks to the resources and sway they carried after your previous efforts, have spent quite some time developing a means of sensing the patterns of this lingering corruption.  I can teach this technique to you, if you are willing to assist us.  It is an extension of one&#039;s attunement to the mana streams -- fear not if such skill is beyond you.  Our artificers have developed a tool that can also reveal the auras.&amp;quot;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Ceryaen asks, &amp;quot;This is the task set before you.  Will you accept?&amp;quot;&lt;br /&gt;

====Walkthrough====&lt;br /&gt;
You must walk around to different rooms using {{tt|Perc}} to perceive different colors of aura in each room. When you find a room that has the aura color you have been tasked with finding, simply {{tt|SEARCH}} until you successfully find the debris. This may take several search attempts. If you {{tt|Perc}} and are told that you are unlikely to learn anything further here, it&#039;s because you have already {{tt|Perc}}&#039;d that area, and need to move a few rooms away to try again. You can look at rooms through the task ripplegate, or you can leave the task area completely and search around areas with lots of rooms, like Crossing.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Example result from {{tt|Perc}}: &#039;&#039;Employing the technique Ceryaen imparted, you perceive blotchy white mists here and blotchy pink mists below you.&#039;&#039;&lt;br /&gt;

Each 10% of the game population sees each room as a different color.  It&#039;s a combination of character info (unique) + room info.&lt;br /&gt;

Arbiter Ceryaen observes the coming and going of adventurers of all walks of life as she shifts her weight from foot to foot. The Trickling Sun members have been occupied with the lingering corruption issue, and few have been able to prepare the dolphins for their great travels.  The waters between you and us are vast, and only the best should be trusted to carry you landwalkers to us.&amp;quot;&lt;br /&gt;

Ceryaen continues, &amp;quot;If you are agreeable, I am certain we can advise you in the necessary techniques to train and prepare one of the dolphins for what&#039;s to come.&amp;quot;&lt;br /&gt;

Once you have avoided the correct number of obstacles, you can {{tt|SNAP}} to be taken out of the task area, or you can continue to avoid obstacles to attempt a personal high score. Your score will be given to you when you emerge from the task. If you fail enough obstacles in a row, you will automatically be removed from the task.&lt;br /&gt;

Accompany a leviathan and remove any obstacles from its path.  Ask me again if you wish your party to go.&amp;quot;&lt;br /&gt;

====Walkthrough====&lt;br /&gt;
While in a group of 2 people, the group leader has to {{tt|ASK ECOLOGIST ABOUT PROBLEM}} twice to begin the mission. You will be escorted as a group to one of several locations of about 5-6 rooms each. {{tt|Tap}}/{{tt|rub}}/{{tt|invoke}}/{{tt|touch}} the ball to have [[Air Bubble]] cast on you. You may need to return here to refresh the spell. After some intro text, you will hear the ecologist say &amp;quot;Merciful Aluna...&amp;quot; This is your cue to move around the area and find either the shark or the Drogor avatar (it is the same mob, but it can swap between the two). Fight and kill the avatar, and make sure to loot it. This task rewards 50+ renown.&lt;br /&gt;

The maximum amount of faction standing you can earn per task is 15, and the maximum amount of Kronars is 75,000. (7.5 plat). The amount you earn is based on how much work you do for the task, even if you&#039;re not explicitly asked for that amount. For example, you will earn 7.5 plat Kronar if you complete 25 obstacles on the dolphin course, even if you&#039;re only asked to complete 10 obstacles.&lt;br /&gt;

Though you can gain more standing from the leviathan mission than from Ceryaen&#039;s tasks, you can mostly stick with the latter if you&#039;re afraid of leviathans!&lt;br /&gt;

There are two types of magical research: Research and Symbiosis. These were introduced as part of [[Magic 3.1]] and use the same base mechanics as [[Appraisal skill#Appraise Focus|{{tt|Appraise Focus}}]]. Therefore, you cannot do appraise focus and magical research at the same time.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Research projects are completed in portions between 30 and 300 seconds. Each portion is started with: {{com|RESEARCH}} {{tt|&amp;lt;project&amp;gt; &amp;lt;duration&amp;gt;}}. When the sum of all completed portions hits the required time, your project is complete.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The scenarios in which you will find yourself needing to use magical research to train are:&lt;br /&gt;
*Your guild does not have a high level spell to train a specific magic skill efficiently (e.g. locking a magic takes longer than 15 minutes of chain casting)&lt;br /&gt;
*To get the bonus from a symbiosis&lt;br /&gt;
*To guarantee of mindlocking a skill&lt;br /&gt;
*Training the Sorcery skill without memorizing a spell scroll or using runestones&lt;br /&gt;

==Research==&lt;br /&gt;
Research-type projects rely on the use of the [[Gauge Flow]] spell and give an instant lock of (or split experience among a group of) any magic skill after completion.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
#Cast the [[Gauge Flow]] spell. The amount of mana put into the spell will affect time necessary for researching.&lt;br /&gt;
#Start a Research project by performing {{com|RESEARCH}} {{tt|&amp;lt;type&amp;gt; &amp;lt;duration&amp;gt;}} (e.g. {{com|RESEARCH}} {{tt|UTILITY 300}}).&lt;br /&gt;
