Various shops and NPCs may allow you to acquire the ability to cast using many different types of spell preparations. Some can be acquired through guild sects, others as a premium perk, or some simply just for coin. Most (if not all) of these preparations require a Magic Feat to use, and your character may only have up to 3 special preparations at a time.
