{{RTOC}}
'''Sigil harvesting''' is the process of collecting primary and secondary [[sigil scroll (enchanting)|sigil scrolls]] for use in the [[Enchanting]] system.

Sigil harvesting is a room based system like the other harvesting mechanics. Unlike other systems however, each sigil "harvest" is associated with the character, not the room itself. This means that 2 (or more) people can scribe a scroll from the same room at the same time. The cooldown timer for that room is then tied to the character, and sigils can continue to be scribed by additional characters.

Each room will contain a primary and secondary sigil determined by its mana concentration, urban level and season. There is no innate randomness to the system, and {{com|PERCEIVE}} {{tt|SIGIL DISTORT}} will allow you some control (particularly if you are a Ranger and don’t wish to go into town).

Unlike traditional materials, Sigils do not have a rarity. Instead, they have a clarity (quality) and precision (hardness) that determine how well an enchantment turns out. {{tt|PERCEIVE SIGIL IMPROVE}} allows you to play a small minigame in hopes of improving a sigil’s stats prior to scribing it. Though for some this may prove too cumbersome, so you’ll still occasionally crit high quality/precise sigils just out of nowhere. And sigils allow you to scribe them multiple times to keep the grind down a bit. Finally, sigil books let you store and filter your sigils to keep inventory counts manageable.

Technique bonuses and the {{tt|PERCEIVE SIGIL BONUS}} and {{tt|DANGER}} commands are currently turned off to capture some base statistics, but will be turned on sometime after the wide release of the system.

[[Arcana]], [[Outdoorsmanship]] & [[Scholarship]] are learned when perceiving for and scribing sigils. Each room has a short timer on it between sigil collection availability.

==Tools==
* [[burin]] - used for scribing a sigil onto a scroll or item
** While these can be crafted by [[Engineering|Engineers]] they must be [[Enchanting|Enchanted]] before they can be used for harvesting.
* {{ilink|i|blank scrolls}} - used to hold a sigil
* (optional) [[sigil book]] - used to hold sigil-scrolls and reduce item count

==Basics==
It is helpful to purchase an [[Artificing]] book and read the 1st page of the 1st chapter to familiarize yourself with the process.

Begin by doing a {{tt|PERCEIVE SIGIL}} in the room you want to check. If the area has a possible sigil, you will receive a message that you are beginning your search. Once that roundtime is done, continue to {{tt|PERCEIVE SIGIL}} until you receive a message of success for your '''primary sigil'''.

Once you have found your 1st sigil, hold a burin and a blank scroll, and {{tt|SCRIBE SIGIL}} to collect it. Additionally, you can continue to {{tt|PERCEIVE SIGIL}} until you see a 2nd success message for a '''secondary sigil''' and {{tt|SCRIBE SIGIL}} to collect it.
* '''note: During testing, danger events have been turned off for collection, however on or after wide release, the secondary sigils will have an increased difficulty and danger factor.

After identifying a sigil, you can {{tt|PERC SIGIL INFO}} to see the statistics on the sigil you've found. An example of this output is:
* ''You have perceived a flawless (96) permutation sigil comprised of broad strokes (8) in the area. You are unable to perceive any opportunities for improving the sigil.''

After identifying either the primary or secondary sigil, you can {{tt|PERCEIVE SIGIL IMPROVE}} to attempt to improve the quality of the sigil or scribe multiple copies of the sigil. If you SCRIBE or IMPROVE after the 1st sigil identification, you will not be able to PERCEIVE for a secondary sigil. You will receive a summary of the current sigil you have identified, an overview of your current ''mental health'' and a series of randomized commands you can use to improve the quality. An example of this output is:

<pre>
You have perceived a flawless (98) nurture sigil comprised of broad strokes (9) in the area.
Patiently, you continue to observe the environment to draw out more precise traits. Your perceptions reveal several interesting opportunities, including...

...a difficult, sanity destroying TECHNIQUE for recovering your focus
...a straightforward, sanity destroying PROCESS to elevate the sigil precision.
...a challenging, focus disrupting EFFORT for enhancing the sigil quality.
...a trivial, sanity destroying APPROACH to elevate the sigil quality.
...a challenging, resolve taxing METHOD for improving the sigil precision.
...a formidable, focus disrupting RITUAL for enhancing the sigil precision.
...a challenging, sanity destroying TASK for recovering your resolve.
...a means to DISTORT the sigil's foundation.

You also take the opportunity to take stock of your mental health.

Danger:  --------------------
Sanity:  ***************-----
Resolve: ***************-----
Focus:   ***************-----
</pre>

Once you have begun improving your sigil, you can complete as many commands as you'd like so long as you have enough Sanity, Resolve & Focus. '''You can {{tt|PERCEIVE SIGIL IMPROVE}} repeatedly to refresh the possible list of commands and actions that will happen.''' Each command will increase the Danger level however, and on a failure, you can lose the sigil entirely with no option for scribing. Your ''mental health'' stats are localized to each sigil gathering event and will re-set each time you attempt to IMPROVE a new sigil.

{{tt|PERCEIVE SIGIL DISTORT}} will allow you to change the type of sigil completely, and the new type.

==Sigil Improve Costs==

Trivial - (Cost ~1-2)  (Reward ~ )

Straightforward - (~2-3)  (Reward ~3-6 )

Formidable - (~4-5)  (Reward ~4-9 )

Difficult - (~6-8)  (Reward ~12-15 )

Challenging - (~5-9+)  (Reward ~6- 14)

==Sigil Quality==
Gathered sigils will have 2 material statistics, '''clarity''' (quality) and '''precision''' (hardness).

The clarity is similar to other material qualities, where the closer to 100 the sigil is, the better the sigil. There are specific terms associated in the end result of the sigil associated with the numeric quality of the sigil.
==Locations==
The sigils can be found in various places across the realms determined by the room's mana concentration, urban level (city or rural) and season. Preliminary results suggest that the same pair of sigils, per room, in the '''Spring''' and '''Autumn''' are the same. '''Summer''' has a different pair per-room. '''Winter''' to be determined.

{{RTOC}}

==Tools==
* [[burin]] - used for scribing a sigil onto a scroll or item
** While these can be crafted by [[Engineering|Engineers]] they must be [[Enchanting|Enchanted]] before they can be used for harvesting.
* {{ilink|i|blank scrolls}} - used to hold a sigil
* (optional) [[sigil book]] - used to hold sigil-scrolls and reduce item count

==Basics==

<pre>

Danger:  --------------------
Sanity:  ***************-----
Resolve: ***************-----
Focus:   ***************-----
</pre>

{{RTOC}}

==Tools==
* [[burin]] - used for scribing a sigil onto a scroll or item
** While these can be crafted by [[Engineering|Engineers]] they must be [[Enchanting|Enchanted]] before they can be used for harvesting.
* {{ilink|i|blank scrolls}} - used to hold a sigil
* (optional) [[sigil book]] - used to hold sigil-scrolls and reduce item count

==Basics==

<pre>

Danger:  --------------------
Sanity:  ***************-----
Resolve: ***************-----
Focus:   ***************-----
</pre>

==Sigil Improve Costs==

Trivial - (~1-2)

Straightforward - (~2-3)

Formidable - (~4-5)

Difficult - (~6-8)

Challenging - (~9+)

==Sigil Quality==

* '''note: The below table needs values confirmed as more data is gathered from the system'''
When you make an entry below, please include a '''timestamp''' '''<nowiki>--~~~~</nowiki>''' (the squiggly lines button in the command bar just above the edit window) just like you would on a talk page. <br>
If/when the bug is resolved, please go back and <s>strikethrough</s> your entry by enclosing it with <nowiki><s> and </s></nowiki> to indicate the issue has been closed. <br>
<!-- Bugs below this line please. -->
* If you try to improve a sigil with ACTION there is a good chance nothing will happen but the danger level will rise.
==Skillsets==

===Introduction===
As indicated above, every guild in DragonRealms has one primary skillset, two secondary skillsets and two tertiary skillsets.<br>
<br>
The main consequence of skillset placement is to determine how quickly you can learn skills. Skills within your guild's primary skill set are learned the fastest, while skills within the tertiary skillset are learned the slowest. Skillset placement can also give you access to certain "perks." Lastly, skillset placement is factored into each guild's circle requirements.<br>
<br>

==Commodity Trading==
Commodity Trading is the buying and selling of commodities. It's possible to create quite a bit of money when you buy low and sell high. You can currently buy and sell in the Crossing guild, Arthe Trading Pit, and Leth Trading Pit.

Here's a table to help with Commodity Trading. I know there's a list of each commodity's highest and lowest values, but currently I can't find it. I'll try to do the research myself for a while, but if anyone has the numbers please feel free to add.

The Table will (in time) provide information to determine if and when to buy a commodity, how many of each commodity is available to buy or sell at a given time, and how much the price can go up or down.

==Commodity Trading==

==Commodity Trading==

==Commodity Trading==

==Short bows==
A short bow is a ranged weapon typically around half the size of its cousin, the long bow.

Short bows are the lightest of all bow classes, having a default load time of two seconds, with the well known {{ilink|w|Nisha short bow}} at 1 second. They tend to have the highest balance of the three [[stick bows]], and therefore are a popular choice for characters with high agility and low strength.

Capped player-made short bows have the highest balance on a standard bow-type available in-game, slightly edging out capped player-made longbows. Their small load time is an attractive feature. A capped short bow combined with capped arrows is an amazingly powerful weapon, though many players opt for longbows to maximize their damage potential.

===Advantages and disadvantages===

'''Advantages'''
*Large damage and accuracy bonuses when using {{com|aim}}.
*Lowest load time of all bow types
*Highest balance of all standard bow types
*Can be crafted by players using the [[Engineering_skill|Engineering skill]]

'''Disadvantages'''
*Lower attack potential than longbows

==Longbows==
Historically longbows are bows fashioned from a single material (traditionally wood in most cultures) and stringed with any number of things. They lack significant recurve which, along with their much longer size, differentiates them from composite bows.

Longbows would normally present a happy medium within the hierarchy of bows, offering more suitability (damage bonus from strength) than capped short bows while having a shorter load time than composite bows. Capped player-made longbows offer significantly higher strength suitability than any other short bow or composite bow available in-game and have balance (damage bonus from agility) nearly identical to capped player-made short bows.

Given this, many players seeking to maximize their attack power choose longbow as their ranged weapon skill. It is currently the most popular ranged weapon skill. Thankfully, many players choose longbows for roleplay reasons instead. An example of this would be a [[Ranger]] choosing to use longbow because of the Ranger guild's affinity for longbow as dictated by game lore. The famed Elven huntress [[Lirisa]] (for which the '[[Hands of Lirisa]]' spell is named) was a longbow-using Ranger.

===Advantages and disadvantages===

'''Advantages'''
*Large damage and accuracy bonuses when using aim.
*Low load times as compared to crossbows
*Highest potential attack power of all standard bow-types
*Can be crafted by players using the [[Engineering_skill|Engineering skill]]

*Higher load time than a short bow
*Must be shoulder-worn normally. Containers which can hold longbows (belt-worn greatsword sheaths, for example) mostly constitute old invasion or beta items, and are extremely rare.

''Note: Returning players or players who do not frequent the Dragonrealms forum should note that the evasion penalty once applied to using bows was removed after the 3x agility modifier was lowered to a standard modifier. Bows no longer have an evasion penalty associated with them.''

==Composite bows==
In Dragonrealms, a composite bow describes either a bow made of multiple layers of material or a recurve bow. In either case, composite bows are a slow-loading, hard-hitting bow that takes advantage of the user's strength to a greater degree than other bows. Composite bows have the highest load time of all three bow classes, though they can easily fit into backpacks and the like.

Compared to other weapons, composite bows rely more heavily on strength than agility to determine loading roundtime and damage. This can make it an attractive example to Kaldar and Gor'Tog characters, who would need to spend fewer TDPs to more effectively use their weapon. Many others choose it for RP reasons, for example, some [[Kaldar]] players use composite bows because, within [[Gorbesh]] military tradition, the composite bow is the ranged weapon of choice.

===Advantages and disadvantages===

'''Advantages'''
*Can be crafted by players using the [[Engineering_skill|Engineering skill]]

'''Disadvantages'''

=Guild-specific abilities=

*[[Barbarian]]s, Rangers, an Thieves have the ability to fire two arrows at once ([[Dual Load|dual load]]). The first arrow uses full attack power and the second arrow 70% of the user's attack power (snap shot). ''Requirements:'' 201 in the bow skill, 30 reflex and 30 agility. Barbarians must be using Eagle Dance, Rangers must have the Hands of Lirisa spell upon them and Thieves must be using Khri Steady. ''Syntax:'' load arrows.

*Rangers and [[Thief|Thieves]] have the ability to [[Snipe|SNIPE]] targets (firing an arrow while remaining hidden). ''Requirements:'' 40th circle within the guild. ''Syntax:'' While hidden, use SNIPE instead of fire or shoot.

*Shield primary ([[Paladin]]s) and secondary (Barbarians, Rangers, [[Trader]]s) guild are able to use a bow and an arm-worn shield together without taking any penalties. Paladins have no penalty while wearing a medium or small shield, while Barbarians, Rangers, and Traders have no penalty while wearing a small shield.

{{RTOC}}
The '''Breaking and Entering''' system will allow individuals or groups to enter properties to steal items and gain experience. The system entered the Test server in 433 (January 2020).

'''note: All the following information is being compiled from forum posts and test server interaction, and is subject to change when the system goes live.'''
==Overview==
* The system takes advantage of the new {{com|BURGLE}} verb. It should only work in justice areas that are outdoors.
* You need some method of entry, either a lockpick, lockpick ring, or a heavy rope. This will determine the entry method experience you get.
* Survival skillset placement has a significant impact in multiple ways, including chance to find a piece of loot from a surface and cooldown*.
* All houses contain a Kitchen and a Bedroom.
* Each primary skillset unlocks a different room*. For example, having a Moon Mage and a Barbarian will unlock two additional rooms, the Study and the Armory.
* Survival primary behaves slightly differently*. Each Survival primary in the group unlocks a random room that isn't unlocked, and increases the entry method experience. Enough Survival primes will allow you to learn both entry method skills.
* Entry method experience is granted on exit. You get half experience if you are caught in the home, or exit the home with a guard in the room you started in.
* You gain experience from {{com|SEARCH}}ing or {{com|RUMMAG}}ing through each surface in the rooms, Thievery and Stealth (if you're hidden/invisible)
* Thieves will want to make use of some Khri. There are three Khri that give an advantage, but I'll leave it to you to experiment.
* Premium subscription provides a few bonuses. It reduces cooldown and increases chance of loot slightly.
* There is a new AVOID CRIME setting, which prevents people from leading you into a B&E instance, even if you're in their group.

Some warnings:
* Failure is determined by the player doing something wrong, there is no random "snake eyes" failure. The fine for being caught is fairly high.
* Stay out of sight. Either dark of night, or stealth is required.
* Don't linger. Unless you're a very fast [[Thief]] using all the [[Khri]] advantages, you don't have time to get loot out of every room.
* Don't do it too often. There's a message when the cooldown expires.

<nowiki>*</nowiki>F2P Characters don't grant extra rooms, and they don't grant lower cooldown for better survival skillset placement. They also have a very low chance of finding loot, even using Khri.

==Cooldown Times==
'''Keep in mind, the cooldown on B&E is artificially low in Test.'''
* F2P characters always have a cooldown of 60 minutes.
* Survival Tertiary characters have a cooldown of 50 minutes.
* Survival Secondary characters have a cooldown of 40 minutes.
* Survival Primary characters have a cooldown of 30 minutes.
* Thief guild characters have a cooldown of 25 minutes.
* Premium characters cooldown is five minutes shorter.

Your entire group uses the best time, and your entire group benefits from a premium character in your group. As an example, if a Premium Bard (Survival Tertiary) and a Standard Thief were to burgle together in a group, both characters would have a 20 minute cooldown.

==Rooms==
* Each primary skillset characters, with the exception of F2P characters, will unlock a different room.
:* For example, having a Moon Mage and a Barbarian will unlock two additional rooms, the Sanctum and the Armory.
* Non-F2P Survival primary also behaves slightly differently, with each Survival primary in the group unlocking a random room that isn't already unlocked.
==Overview==

==Cooldown Times==

==Rooms==
:* ''example needed''
A silversteel assassin's blade etched with sinuous pictograms is a medium edged melee-ranged weapon.
A silversteel assassin's blade etched with sinuous pictograms trains the small edged skill.
The assassin's blade is ill suited, but usable, for backstabbing.
You are certain that it could do:
very heavy (10/28) puncture damage
fair (5/28) slice damage
low (3/28) impact damage
You are certain that the assassin's blade is of average construction (9/18), and is in pristine condition (99-100%).
