==Teaching==
Hunt teaches {{skill|scouting}} (only to [[guild association is::Ranger]]s), and {{skill|perception}}, in that order of decreasing amounts. 
There is a separate timer of 75 seconds on learning for each of the two aspects of the {{tt|Hunt}} command. 
Re-using hunt will not reset the timer, but you will not learn. 

There are two factors in the amount of experience granted by {{tt|hunt}}. Both maximum teaching level and amount of experience are determined by the highest level creature that is detected. NPCs and players count as level 0.<ref>[[Post:HUNT question - 1/21/2009 - 15:06:40]]</ref>

Hunt will not teach any Perception unless you have at least 1 rank in it. This is a known issue, and likely will not be changed.

==Distance==
The max number of rooms away in a path (not in total) you can see is dependent on your Survival Skillset Placement (Primary vs Secondary vs Tertiary) and your Perception. For Rangers, Scouting is included, although the formula is not known. For non-Rangers, it appears to just be based on Perception ranks.

The ability to see those in hiding (PCs or NPCs) does have a Perception check against the hidden target's Hiding. Degree of Success will determine if you see a name, just something in hiding, or no indication at all.

==Description==
The troll towers menacingly over you, its small, beady black eyes glittering with a dim, cruel intelligence and set into a face that is pock-marked and surmounted by an incredibly long and wart-covered nose. Its skin is a grey slate color, and the nails on its hideous hands are broken and yellowed. Beneath them, you notice bits of flesh and dirt, and the stench of rotting flesh and decay is thick about the brutal creature.

Slate grey and hulking, the rock troll seems built to intimidate, its body covered in large muscles designed to crush its prey. Tiny eyes set in a large face are surrounded by wrinkled flesh, pockmarked and pitted. Smudges of dirt and decay coat its skin and broken, yellowed fingernails tip the fingers and toes.

West of Kaerna Village, Climb barrier to enter/exit hunting area. Past the rockslide they tend to swarm. 

Rock Trolls are difficult to train with and occupy a narrow range where they train poorly at too high of ranks and are too dangerous at too low of ranks.

Targeted Magic soft capped at 72 or so, but didn't hard cap until 90 (June 2015).
