Mithlin pays 29,130 Dokoras for a complete set of Imperial dira.

Each Emperor minted a coin of his or her predecessor, with their likeness and name along with the dates of rule. DIRA were minted in pure silver with high raised edges which was then surrounded by a thin band of the metal of the denomination of the DIRA. Much like present day currency, the DIRA came in copper, bronze, silver or gold. Platinum was not yet needed. Unfortunately, over the passage of time, the thin bands of these denomination markers have either worn off the coins or been removed, leaving most DIRA today as only the plain silver "internal" coin.
Note: For reference, this means the coin was minted in silver, then an additional band of copper, bronze, silver, or gold was added to the outside to note the denomination.
You may have noticed finding something called "an Imperial dira" in a treasure. Looking at it tells you it's an old coin from the days of the Seven-Star Empire bearing the image and dates of one of the emperors. If you have a suspicion that some of these might be -very- old and perhaps -very- valuable, you may be right. It makes sense to think that the older the coin, the more valuable it might be, but what do pawnbrokers know? They're not numismatists! You will be able to pawn the diras, but don't expect a knowledable appraisal at a pawnshop.

Going OOC, this is a new system of collectibles, and you can buy cases to keep the diras in from the Coin of the Realm shop. Eventually (like a couple of weeks when I know that everything is working as intended), you'll be able to sell and perhaps buy coins at that same shop. In the meantime, please report any problems you encounter.

Dira are old imperial era coins of varying value and rarity. They may be collected, traded, and redeemed, much like trading cards.

What's a Dira:

Thanks, and have fun,
Empaths are highly attuned to other living creatures, allowing them to heal the wounds of others. Such powers have their drawbacks, however; since Empaths are so close to the pain of living beings around them, if they so much as try to harm another living creature they will lose their ability to heal for a time. If they kill, such ability can be lost forever.

This does not mean that Empaths are barred from combat. Many choose the path of the Battle Empath, with defensive skills and abilities often outstripping those of the adventurers they seek to heal.
Guild Abilities
* Touch - By simply touching a patient, an Empath can form an empathic link with them that allows the Empath to diagnose the patient's injuries with some precision. Besides wound transfer, several other Empath abilities (Shift, Link) require an active diagnostic link to be in place in order to function.
* Transfer/Take - Allows an Empath to take the wounds, scars, and assorted injuries of other adventurers by transferring them to the Empath's body.
** Wound Redirection - A more advanced form of taking wounds which allows the empath to change the destination of transferred wounds for five minutes.
* Link - More experienced Empaths can use their empathic links to others to access some of their knowledge, thereby increasing the Empath's skills for the duration of the link. This ability is taught by other Empaths and cannot be maintained in combat.
** Linking has more advanced forms such as Persistent Links, Hand of Hoderina and the Unity Link.
* Perceive Health - Allows the Empath to detect the presence of others in the surrounding area by sensing their life energies, including health status such as poison, disease, or low vitality. As the Empath's skill increases, life energies can be detected farther and farther away.
** Empaths may also use their perception to check if a creature is living, undead or a construct. See the perceive for more information and syntax.
* Shift - Though considered a hush-hush skill by those in Elanthia, some Empaths possess the ability to alter the appearance of others permanently. It is considered a forbidden practice in all provinces in Kermoria except for Ilithi, as of 406 AV.
* Manipulate - Those with sufficient skill can Manipulate a creature approaching them into believing that an Empath is a friend rather than an enemy. This is a powerful tool for Empaths choosing to enter hunting and battle areas.

Spell slot progressions
The Empath spell tree requires 55 spell slots to master. Empaths earn 76 spell slots at 150 which leaves experienced Empaths plenty of room for Magic Techniques or Analogous Patterns spells. All magic guilds get a free magical feat at circle 2, and Empaths get Injured Casting as theirs.
