Happy Tuesday, folks!
This week, I took a stab at making the rumor system a little easier to document and engage with! Knowing which NPCs are a part of the system and what their particular biases are in regards to who they will or won't speak to has been a bit of a PAFO thing up until now. I also tackled some bugs behind the scenes that'll make the system better all around, too! You should now be able to STUDY NPCs and see if they're a part of the rumor system as well as their biases. There are no checks on revealing this information -- it's done so you guys can better document things and make it easier to find someone who will listen to your particular character when you want to inject a rumor (or hear them)! Here's an example from the stableboy in [Marachek's Oak, Trader Caravan Stables] (Fayrin's Rest):
You feel he will interact with the following professions: You feel he will interact with the following races: A Halfling stableboy will talk to males and females.
Go forth, and study all of the NPCs! Waitresses, bartenders, stableboys, trader mongers, and innkeepers are common ones. We may release a list in the future to help fill in gaps. To get you started, our list has 48 NPCs as part of the system. Elanthipedia's page (here: https://elanthipedia.play.net/Rumor_system ) has 24. Spin a rumor or two as you go exploring and find them!
