A new Moon Mage metaspell, Ripplegate Theory, is now available for Premium preview. It is a 1-slot Enlightened Geometry spell that requries Braun's Conjecture (and thus has a de-facto 40th circle req).
So, let's talk function. Ripplegate Theory allows a Moon Mage to memorize a room they could otherwise focus a moonbeam into (more or less -- the requirements are slightly different but should work the same for 98% of rooms) and from there on use Teleport to return to it without requiring the presence of an active moon or moonbeam. Only one room can be memorized at a time. All the normal difficulty, distance, and stun mechanics apply to a ripplegate Teleport. Ripplegate Theory explicitly only works with the Teleport spell. To memorize a room, PREP Ripplegate Theory (RT) while you have Braun's Conjecture active. You may change the ripplegate target room as many times as you wish by simply doing the same thing in another qualifying room. To return to the room, CAST RIPPLEGATE with the Teleport spell. You can teleport back as many times as you wish without needing to refresh the ripplegate. Please note that this is part of an overall re-examination of how teleportation fits in the Moon Mage tool-kit due to the past few years' proliferation of teleport items. The metaspell may be changed further if I feel it is prudent, and there may be other changes with the Moon Mage teleportational system to be discussed later. NOTE FOR PLATINUM MOON MAGES: | |
