| I've just put Oath of the Firstborn on Test.
This is the replacement for the melee weapon boost from Claws of the Cougar since that spell is up to different things now. It's a 2 slot intermediate spell that requires Hands of Lirisa. In essence it's a melee weapon skill booster. The actual mechanics are a little complex but it should try and keep the bonuses looking like this: +Right hand weapon (Unless empty, in which case it'll give you +large edged). This spell hasn't yet been through QC yet so I expect there's some typos and/or bugs so please play with it and let me know if you encounter any problems - This is one of the last two things I need to polish up before Magic 3.2 will be ready to ship. I had to jump through some hoops to get that logic working and it still does some slightly non intuitive things like an claymore in the right hand + empty left hand = +Twohanded Edge but empty right hand + claymore in left hand = +Twohanded Edge and +Large Edge. LIGHTNING ROUND There is one thing I really want to do with the spell that I haven't yet so I'm going to run it as an informal turbo contest. When you cast the spell you speak a brief oath and I'd like to customized this so each race speaks their own oath and I consider the messaging currently there to be a placeholder (I considered making this in the racial languages but that way lies madness.) If you have a suggestion for an oath please post it ASAP and keep them brief - people will be seeing this a lot so in the range of 80 characters or less would be ideal. -Raesh | |
