Howdy! We've just released the first of a new spell type: Non-Damaging Targeted (NDT)! This spell type really has two subtypes - NDT Disabler and NDT Debuff. The intention is that the Empath guild will specialize in this spell type over time. As the first of its kind, a new spell called Paralysis has been debuted in Platinum and been on Platinum Preview for some time. The spell has just been placed on Premium Preview in Prime and The Fallen. The spell is (obviously) a NDT Disabler. To learn the spell after the preview, the spell requires Lethargy. To be effective, you need TM skill, and it will train TM. You will not, however, get successive experience for chain-disabling or chain-debuffing with these spell types. Once you use the spell on a given critter, there will a successively worsening experience penalty. The penalty is on a timer, and it is PER CRITTER. "The Paralysis spell, when cast successfully, creates from nothing an anesthetic solution encased in a stream of Life energy, which coils around and then constricts against the target like a snake, successful attempts causing a complete loss of muscle control. If particularly successful, the target may lose his or her (or its) balance; with exceptional skill, the target may even fall to the ground, unable to move as they are. Note that the spell is not effective against the undead and will likely anger them further." I'll move this to a general preview within a few weeks. Enjoy! - GM Sithix
